I have been with this pest control service for 4 months and they will not let me out of my contract. I keep calling and asking for cancelations or customer service and they keep you on hold for 45 mins to an hour and never answer. I have ants all over my kitchen and have killed multiple spiders all over my house. When I called to see if they could come back out before even thinking about canceling they gave me the run around and sent me pictures of what the field agent had done while he was out. I have been call for a week straight trying to cancel. I am currently on hold with them as I am typing this review and it has been 41 minutes. I have been a customer of Hawx for 8 years and I had a "Vole" treatment scheduled (waited 2 weeks) No one showed up or notified me of any issues. I called this morning and was told they do NOT treat Voles. This is very frustrating. I've waited for weeks and spoke to two different representatives and got two different answers. Shady businesse practices. Pest control services were mediocre for the 1 year i committed to. Called to cancel due to lack of money( been off work for 4 months for medical). The lady offered a courtesy service for July and said I could call back at a later date if I wanted to continue service. They came out for the final time in July and I thought that was the end of it. Then I get texts and emails in mid August that I owe money. I call them Sept. 2nd and tell them I have already called and canceled, I do not want service I should not owe any money and the lady said ok ill close out the account and take care of the balance. 2 weeks later(today) I get a text and email says I still owe money. I called they said their management looked at the account and decided the 39 dollar charge was still valid for the month of August. I got very irritated, paid the 44(oh yeah, 5$ late fee to) so these idiots don't send me to collections and now I'm writing this review to warn others of management's shady business practices. They were not great to work with when I was using their services and they are worse when it comes time to cancel. Beware. read more

They were okay with pest control. They forgot to check the bait traps most of the time and finally came back out to refill them. The major problem is trying to cancel the service. I didn't realized that I had signed a 3 year contract. So I was billed $199 which I paid just to get rid of them. They have a monthly billing and unfortunately in their portal they do not show what payments are being applied to which date of service. They also changed up the way they do their quarters December is the first month for the first quarter of the next year.... so for me they did a service 12.31.2024 then didn't come back until 05.05.2025. So nothing for 4 months but they consider it both quarters of 2025.... Now for payment. My payments for the services were the month of the service then the next to months to cover the $120. So December's service was covered by the December, January and February payments. They continued to take payments for March, April, and May which should have covered the May service. They then took June, July and August payments. I canceled in July 2025 but they still took August's payment. I was able to get my bank to take that money back because it was after the service was canceled. So now they have $80 that has not been applied to a service and they are billing me an extra $40. I have called and the people I get on the phone do not understand how this all works. When I ask what service my payments are being applied to they just keep reiterating that it is a monthly bill. They also will not let me escalate or talk to anyone other than the frontline people who have very little training on how billing works. read more

My experience with Hawx Pest Control has been nothing short of a nightmare. Working with this company has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences of my life. Hawx is supposed to provide quarterly services and offer additional visits when needed. After the first initial treatment, I had to request a second treatment soon after because it didn't kill any spiders around my house. I didn't know that I had to babysit and schedule my appointments in order to get the next service. It was completely missed. When I finally realized that they hadn't come in a while, I called, and they preceded to tell me that it was my fault because I should of call sooner. They then schedule what should be my third treatment, but it has now been change twice and I have yet to receive it. I called customer service and asked to cancel because I felt they had breached our contract. I shouldn't be charged for services that I have not receive especially when it is because of their incompliance. They proceeded to tell me that if I canceled, I would loss all the money that I paid already, and a $200 cancelation fee would be charged. As of today, I have paid this company $244 and am still getting charged a monthly fee of $39 but only the first service has been received. read more

Horrible company ran by very horrible people. My husband signed up for this service. He doesn't deal with companies otherwise, so my number was on the client file. Anytime they called when a card expired or there was an issue with payment, I'd answer and provide the new number. Since we are gay, they never questioned whether it was him or me on the phone, and if they did, I just said I was him. We had been married 17 years. A week before he went into hospice for terminal, he lost his wallet and the payment didn't process. They called and because I was exhausted, I said, he is very sick with cancer. I told them I could give them the new card number and they said it wouldn't be possible unless I woke him up after his chemo and had him confess that i could speak to them. Literally, they had been calling my number for years and years and all they needed was a new credit card number which I was willing to provide. He went into hospice and they kept calling, unwilling to take the new card. "Dude, he's dying. Just let me give you our joint card." Nope. Even escalated to management twice and the answer was nope. Stay away! Zero stars! Misleading sales reps. Poor customer service. And frustrating cancellation process that results in additional charges unless you renew their ridiculous contract. I'm a senior citizen on a fixed income. They charged me 3 additional months after I asked for my service to be cancelled. When I asked for relief from the 4 separate late fees totaling $20 they told me only if I renewed. When I asked the Account Manager to speak with their supervisor they said they were as high as I could go. I asked to speak with the CEO or President and they told me that was not possible. We are renting why would we want to have monthly extermination service on someone else property? Week of 8.25.25 my dog was barking I went outside there was a pest control guy spraying the house. I asked why are you here, he said it was on his list. I said I know nothing about this, did the owner called you? he said he was told to come by. He left before I could find out what was going on. So I called Hawx and was told there was a contract. Then 3 hours later my Fianc'e was charged $149. We found out she was charge $75 a few months ago a Pest control came by we knew nothing about. So I had to pay$199 to cancel the contract. I had to give my Fianc'e the money back plus $199 I did not have and paid for something I did not own. I called Hawx again explained what happen, ask for a manager no manager available someone will call back. 9/3/25 Called again no manager or supervisor available. So I said if there is a issue with an account where something need to be changed and you cant change it So there is no one you can talk to make changes?. So you just work by yourself? I said if there is a customer who have 3 house need pest services and you cant help due to a system issue and you about to not make sales the company missed out on money. When I signed up last month, I told the sales team my ONE concern was voles in our yard. They assured me that they would take care of them if I signed up and added on the rodent service, which I did. They put out a bait box but we have been seeing lots of voles the past week so I called them to come out for a treatment. I was informed that they "no longer treat for voles". What?! I then tried to cancel my account and assumed I would not be responsible for paying the hundreds of dollars to cancel the 12 month service agreement early. The gals who schedule appointments usually act like I have woken them up from a nap, the service engineers regularly don't come when I've scheduled them, and come when I have not scheduled them. The last guy jumped off my porch into freshly graded dirt, and then proceeded to track mud into my house through the booties. He walked up and down through my house and didn't stop even though there were mud spots everywhere--carpet, rugs, wood floors. When I tried to cancel and report the event, they require photo proof and said I was making "serious accusations" as if I was hurting THEM somehow. Hawx has some real problems. I haven't used Hawx in 4 years, and 3 years ago I moved out of the house that regrettably I had Hawx service 1 time (and I paid in full). Suddenly out of nowhere I get a bill for $49.99 for a service I didn't receive, a "subscription" I didn't agree to, for a house I don't live in. I called customer support and after going through 2 different reps they tell me they cannot remove the charge. They even tried to tell me that I was sent an e-mail 2 months ago (which I didn't), and by not replying I accepted the agreement! Scam! So now I'm on some list for a manager to call me back, which I'm sure will never happen (based on what other reviewers have noted). What a waste of my time and what a garbage business. Worst experience ever!!! Stay away. salesman lied to me with empty promises of being able to call when needed and they can send someone out to spray for bugs. I live next to a mountain and field and we experience a large amount of rodents, grasshoppers, spiders and bee's. They services my house and when i called to have them do another round of spraying they said that they can only do it every quarter. I let them know what the sales rep said and they basically told me that it wasn't policy. They charge your account every month but only spray maybe 4 times a year. Then when you go to try and cancel, they make it damn near impossible and grill you with personal questions as to why you want to cancel. If i can give this company negative stars i would. Initial installation of termite prevention was sloppy, did not go around the entire perimeter and some bait traps were left laying out on the ground, and when told they did not come to remedy the situation, We buried them ourselves. Apparently after the years contract is up I would have been eligible for half price per month but they did not tell me until I called to cancel my service. Customer service account managers do not actually do anything to help the customer. They don't give refunds, they don't make up for poor service. And they come and take out what they have provided because it is a rental of the plastic Bait traps. When I ran into these issues, I had problems with scheduling and communication. I requested to speak to a manager. This is not something I would normally do - but it was THAT BAD. Though I do not remember their name, the person I was speaking with via phone was wonderful and truly wanted to help. I want to emphasize that the employees below management are doing their jobs and it is not their conduct that pisses me off. It is quite apparent that there is a clear problem with management accountability here and I have no doubt that it causes issues with customers when issues arise that require escalation. I had requested 3 different times to speak to a manager and they were never available. But lets be honest - of course they were available. Hiding in your office and not taking calls won't fix a pest control problem - so if you want your company to survive - open up the door to your employees and your customers. I know most companies will respond to a bad review to try to rectify the situation. Don't even bother with me. I also don't expect you to based off of the fact that your managers likely spend most of their time hiding in the office and avoiding difficult conversations. Salesman Benjamin Oliver came around and did his sales conversation with me and a friends that was staying at my home. I signed up for $59.00 a month and he told me that all my neighbors have signed up for this service and would be easy to do all the houses in our cul de sac at same time. I later found out that no other neighbor signed up and this was a SCAM. They did service my house the following day, but have not been back since. I also found out that same sales man was going by other neighbors up to 9:00 at night trying to get them sign up and sneaking arounds peoples houses. I called today to cancel services, Spoke to a person by the name of MOD, he refused to give me corporates number or direct supervisor name and contact info. I explained to him about the lies the salesman was telling me and he defended him by trying to explain why he would say such things. No way he should be speaking for this salesperson unless they try to save accounts by doing this all the time. Be aware and do not get their services. Don't Use This Pest Control Service! They rope you into a 12-month contract with a $199 early-termination fee. They already charge $60 per month (too high compared to other pest control services), and only come out to spray, quarterly. After their initial service there were still ants and spiders present, so we called them back to spray again. We already had a service that came out quarterly, so we weren't struggling with an infestation to begin with, but there were bugs present after they sprayed. They charge too much for the results we got. We called them to cancel their service, and that's when we were told about about the $199 cancelation fee. This is not a reputable service practice for pest control; we've never been under a contract for a pest control service, ever. Absolute nonsense, but my husband didn't realize what he was getting roped into (didn't read the fine print in the paperwork they sent). Now we're stuck paying them $720 for a total of 4 visits for the year. Wish we'd known about all the bad reviews before ever hiring this company, but I'll be leaving this review everywhere on the Internet, in hopes of saving others from making the mistake we made. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. AVOID!!! This "business" is a complete SCAM. I wish I would've Googled it before signing up. Some teenage looking boy came to my door knocking from door to door in my neighborhood. There was zero indication he was a salesman / had no company shirt, truck/car, etc. indicating he was representing Hawx Pest Control. He told me my neighbors use them which is a LIE and they could set me up on the same scheduled time they come out to spray for them. Whether he knew personally or not or was educated on the material or not, he told me every 3 months the price would be a specific (low) amount, however, it was NOT the case. It turned out to be every month - and I would've never signed up for that rate had I known it was a monthly charge. He told me they would schedule someone to come out and spray the inside and outside of my home. While someone did come out, they never knocked on my door or rang my doorbell. So, they sprayed the outside of my house and never the inside. It was then I realized I didn't have a way of really getting in contact with them. After a few "services" of spraying, I was STILL noticing spiders and such (not an infestation by any means but it was as if they weren't doing anything at all). So, with that and being incorrectly told the payment information, I decided I wanted to cancel and go with another company. Upon signing up, I was told there would be no issues at any point if I chose to cancel - monetarily, I would owe nothing. All of these things I repeated and asked numerous times (out of habit because of my personality) and was still reassured this was the case. Although, I still felt slightly skeptical, I went ahead and signed up. Fast forward to several months in when I decide I'm done with them and want to cancel. I email them about it and they want me to call a phone number. I don't want to be stuck in robot phone loops so I insisted on emailing only and could provide anything that was necessary via email. This seemed to be a huge issue for them as they kept insisting I had to call (kind of strange, don't you think??) FINALLY, I was able to nag someone enough to get them to cancel my account after squaring up any balance I owed for services rendered previously. Then, they told me they would no longer respond to my emails because I could call and I wasn't being clear about the issue etc. when it was clearly obvious they were scamming. Then they proceeded to tell me to look out for a balance I'd owe for cancelling. When I told them repeatedly about my sign up experience and how I was told I wouldn't owe anything, they didn't attempt to correct the issue or explain to me something different nor did they apologize at any point. They didn't even tell me how much I'd owe when I asked, they just began to ignore me. So I eventually received an email saying I owed $300+ for cancelling and after MUCH googling other's similar experiences, I decided to completely block them and not pay the "cancellation fee." Next thing I know, I am going through my blocked voicemails and someone from their company had been consistently calling me almost every day multiple times leaving voicemails sometimes for only a few seconds and sometimes for up to a minute. Sometimes saying nothing at all but clearly there was another person breathing on the other side of the phone/background noise. And there were a few cases where the voicemails got CREEPY. It was the same phone number over and over. One of the voicemails was a man's voice very muffled and low sounding distressed in a way (and forgive me, but literally sounded like he was out of breath because he was inappropriately potentially touching himself). Three weeks ago I called about a mouse problem, and a date was set to come do a home inspection. They could not tell me if they would come in the morning or afternoon - "it just depends." But we had a mouse problem, and so we took the day off work. No one came or called. At 5:30 when I called customer service she told me she would find out why and call me back. She did not, despite me giving her two numbers to reach us. Long story short - the second time I scheduled an appointment, and no one came. We were given the story that there had been bad weather in Logan Canyon both times. (They come from Ogden and we live in Logan.) We did not have a snow problem here, and I doubt they had in the canyon -- and at the very least they could have called us. No one called us. The third time the appointment was scheduled the technician called and said there was snow in the canyon -- and this time that was true at least. But we have waited three weeks now for an inspection. I just wanted my money back. After two times of at least 10 minutes on hold, someone finally told me they would refund my money. We'll see. Just had my first treatment. Was impressed with the service tech, Autumn Swedin. We discussed my trouble areas and she gave them extra attention. She was very professional and polite. She came to the front door when she was done and explained all that she did, gave me instructions on how long to wait before letting the dogs out and when to water. After she went back to her truck she wrote her report and I received a text shortly after letting me know where/how to access it and to reach out to her if I had any questions or issues. read more

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I had this company provide pest/bug control for over a year at our home. I paid $89 a quarter and they came out every 3 months to provide the service. After over a year of regular service and billing, I was enrolled in their monthly plan without my knowledge. This monthly plan is $40 a month. That is an increase from $356 to $480 a year without my knowledge. When I called to have this change explained to me, they were EXTEREMELY rude and said the change to a monthly plan had been emailed to all their customers, however, they have been hearing that the email went to many customers spam folders. So they admitted that there was a flaw in their own system. I canceled my subscription with them. However, I had already been charged my $40 monthly fee for a service that was NEVER performed. When I asked for a refund they refused to do so. I have since contacted my credit card service and they have disputed the charge and flagged this company as a scam. This company is a scam! I signed up for their services in June 2024 from a door to door salesmen. He set up an appointment to spray the outside and inside of my home. They completed the outside but never came back to complete the inside, instead THEY canceled the appointment to spray the inside of my home and never rescheduled . IN FACT EVERY SINGLE TIME i scheduled an appointment they would cancel it via text asking me to reschedule again. The salesman initially promised that if I wanted to cancel AT ANYTIME I could do so without penalty. I tried to cancel in August and they convinced me to not cancel offering a partial month credit and scheduling me another appointment to spray the inside of my home well they of course canceled that appointment and again never rescheduled. I've paid $40 a month via autopay just to have my home sprayed outside one time only. I called to cancel my service again today since I am moving but now they say I will have a "penalty" of $199 for me to cancel the crappy service! Ive paid a total of $240 for them to spray one time ever and cancel on me repeatedly . They are not reliable and the salesmen lie to your face!! I have a bill on my bank now for $43.29 that I did not authorize. I did plan to have you come later in the year. I do not think the man who came here even asked if I wanted the spray done. That is out of line and with my hearing loss I did not hear nor authorize any work! I actually was going to ask about a special project in my back yead because my son broke 4 bones in his foot when he stumbled on his back step. He cannot do the work now but it is for cutting the grass and hauling away some large branches which I do not think you can do. I did plan to check with you on this. This company is beyond ridiculous. They take advantage of people and lie to them. How many times do we have to reiterate the fact that my husband is a disabled veteran and how our family is on a limited income? My husband clearly told the salesman again and AGAIN that we could only take them up on their one time special because we just had a large move out of state and are very tight on funding. We only agreed to this one time promotional service because of a wasp situation where my husband already got bit! Despite my husband telling him again and again, we trusted him and signed for the service not knowing he signed us up for a yearly service ‍ Seriously, what does "we can only afford to do this one time service" mean? Then after explaining this whole ordeal we get told we need to pay a cancellation fee! Are you serious? We aren't the first ones they've done this to and yes we should have read the fine print but when someone tells you they are on tight funding and a very limited income you don't trick them into signing by telling them it was a one time special! They told my husband to contact the main office and they never responded to my husband's email. Go figure. The Friday before the July 4th weekend as part owner and property manager I contacted our regular exterminator but they wouldn't be able to schedule us for a week. I left messages with other local companies but didn't get a response. The problem with elm bugs was growing exponentially in spite of our attempts to control it and I gave the tenant permission to try and find an exterminator. Hawx Pest Control, located about 50 miles south, responded. The tenant was told of a second treatment following the initial treatment. The tenant and I were both there when for the treatment. The worker mentioned a follow-up. I wrote a check on the account of the LLC that owns the property. A few weeks later I received a phone call asking what contract the payment was supposed to apply to. By address and the tenants name we were able to fix that problem. Now in November I get a phone message that there are problems with our account. $113.29 ($109 plus a $4 late fee) is owed for service done in August. The tenant verified that service was done. When I asked about cancelling the contract the fee was just short of the amount for the 3 additional services on the contract they claimed the tenant had signed. She was never told she was signing a contract for 5 services over the next 12 months. My additional complaint is that after the initial phone call to me, they didn't bother to send me the bill for the second service. I agreed to pay for that service as soon as I receive an invoice. The tenant and I have both called the company and received the same information. I find their business practices deceitful and unprofessional. read more

I gave him a credit card and then they kept trying to schedule to come out again and I told him I didn't need them. They said I was entered into a year-long contract and that I either had to pay them to cancel it or pay them to come out and spray. I canceled my credit card. The right side does not know what the left side is doing. They said other people in my neighborhood used them. That was a lie. Routing manager attempted to trick us into signing a year long contract by claiming we were signing a form to "acknowledge his visit to our property." We did not sign and he still wouldn't leave our property. He did not wear facial coverings despite a city-wide order. We asked him not to come back without contacting us and he gave us an appointment card to return with another quote and more information three days later. We said that we were happy with our current services no less than five times and he wouldn't leave. My elderly parents signed up for Hawx in Ogden Utah. Everything worked ok for the first while. They were on a quarterly payment. My mother sent in a note with her last payment that she wanted to cancel the service. Hawx said they never received a note cancelling her service and sent her another bill. Hawx can not access the back yard without us knowing about it as it has a locked gate due to a swimming pool. I asked why she was still being billed if they can't access her yard. Hawx says she is billed quarterly whether or not they can get access to all the property. Buy a can or two of pest control from Home Depot and do it yourself. read more

I've been using Hawx now for over three years. They come quarterly and spray for insects. They've always done a great job and I don't have any issues with insects at all. There technicians are always very friendly. Recently, I called about a rodent problem. The technician they sent out, Rikki, was extremely professional and friendly. He took care of the problem on the spot. I can't recommend these folks enough! read more
