I highly do not recommend this company. They locked my elderly parents into a contract and charged them 210.00 to get out of it. They charge you 50.00 a month and come quarterly. You have to call them in between for " warranty work". No bugs in winter time but you will still get charged 50 a month in November, December, January, February. Most crooked company I have ever had to deal with, thought I was signing up for a "one time special", $50 to spray all the eaves, house, yard for spiders to find out later that it was a 12 month contract when I tried to cancel after the first visit. After the 12 months called was on hold for over 20 mins, transfer a couple times, and finally canceled only to receive a confirmation email with a $250 CANCELLATION FEE billed to my card. Apparently their "12 month contract" means 5 visits, which is more than 12 month. Nowhere on the contract does it say 5 visits.....it says 12 months and can stop at anytime after 12 months They are so crooked, working with the card company to get my money back read more

On the 12th of August 2019, I got a visit from one of their door to door salesmen. I expressed to him that while we did have a wasp problem in our backyard, I am low on funds because I am living solely on my VA disability compensation. He then told me that he could give me a major discount for the service since he was in the neighborhood. I agreed stating that I could only afford the one service. He then assured me that it would in fact be a one time service. He then preceded to have me sign the paperwork; not informing me about a subscription for a full year, or anything about a $199 cancellation fee. I realize my mistake of placing my trust in him by not reading the agreement before signing it. Its a mistake I will not be making again. read more

This company is a joke! I got suckered by a door to door sales person and like others stated thought it was for a trial 50.00 service then looked more into it and they lock you into a one year contract! Trying to get anyone on the phone is an absolute joke!! I have been trying to get a hold of someone for weeks!! They have sprayed my house 3 times. every time with my concern being aunts. I have never once NOT seen an aunt since they have been spraying! I have aunts all over my house!! Bathrooms bedroom kitchen etc! This company apparently hires seasonal staff to be door to door salespeople, and puts them up in temporary apartments. Their team at the egate apartments has been SO disrespectful to the neighbors. They are partying between apartments, leaving giant piles of trash everywhere and cutting people off on the sidewalks with their electric scooters. This is a nice apartment complex full of families with children. This company should be ashamed of how their staff is acting, especially while they are wearing the company shirts representing Hawx. read more

Hawks changed from a per treatment charge to a monthly subscription charge with a substantial price increase. Apparently I missed the email Informing me of this. When I saw $40 charge when no service was performed I called and was informed of this New program. When I asked to cancel my service and refund the $40, I was informed that they wouldn't refund the money because I was informed of the change. When I told them that I received no service for the $40, they didn't care and wouldn't refund my money. That was after them putting me on hold for 15 minutes to steal my $40. I would not recommend this company to anyone after this experience. It's apparent they didn't care about my previous business with them nor do they ever want my service again. My god this is the worst pesticide company we've ever used.. For starters we didn't even have a pest problem but our buddy did the door to door thing, so when we met the sales kid, we thought we'd help him out and maybe have less bugs outside to boot. BIG MISTAKE. I should've read the reviews like everyone here is stating (check Yelp too). They serviced us and there were suddenly a bunch of bugs inside and out. Which, is normal the first week or so after a treatment, especially if you avoid the interior. However, our bug problem never went away, we just suddenly had a bug problem now since August. They came to treat the house a 2nd time (and we're super late), and we hoped maybe that'll do it. NOPE, the bugs are everywhere still. We decided why are we paying for this when we didn't have a bug problem in the first place?! We, lived here over 8 months and the most we had were a LITTLE ants which we got rid of with a $10 ant trap from Amazon and never dealt with it again.. until... Hawx. I've used Orkin and all the other big companies in the past and never dealt with this. Not once! So we called and tried to be cool about it and they just want to loop you into using your subscription for their booster services.. And I said sorry, we never had a problem, every time they come the problem gets worse and DOESNT go down, why would we want more? Plus I have pets and a toddler (which they'll state is "safe" but my good friends a toxicologist and that's not the case. Also, the US laws only block 21 chemicals when UK/EU block 464, tell me more how they allow these companies to skate by and call it "safe".) So no, I don't want the booster service, plus--why would you need to offer that as an option if your company actually worked? And it's because they can loop sell you into staying or paying for the cancellation fee. And yes, of course the rep on the phone was rude, talked over me and wouldn't stop talking until I said STOP TALKING OVER ME, he said that I don't have permission to talk... When I was talking to him with my bf on speaker, then after my bf said "Yes, she has permission and she's on the account & the reason we're even customers" the guy goes oh, you're on the account.. I see.. We were totally cool with him until that moment he completely disrespected me. Then, his manager got on the phone, she was worse, because she knows she has the call training, sales looping down. That's how scams work.. They don't ever come to a conclusion, they just ask you a question you already answered 7x and get you to answer again so they can restart their sales loop pitch to try and keep you from cancelling or discussing the cancellation fee. She of course ended up very rude when her tactics weren't working and I was calling her out on her circle talk and attitude.. There was no typical respectful responses of "Sorry, but unfortunately we can't.. I understand your frustration.. Let me check with my supervisor etc." It just goes back into their solution (which is the problem) you don't want to use and they don't accept that. So after she was getting aggressive on the phone (my bf who doesn't get into this stuff was PISSED the way she was talking to me plus my toddler crying) I said fine, if you won't come to an agreement on lowering the $204 fee or dropping it entirely, then I'll make sure it costs you over $200 in leaving reviews for you guys. And this manager had the audacity to say "Yeah? Well I hope you put in there how we tried to help!" in that very snappy argumentative tone. (Business owner to business owner, employees like that will eventually sink your company). I was ready to record her because it was so bad how she was talking to me that it started to snap me out of my frustration and realize I'm just dealing with someone who's trying to "win" from their horrible job. So anyway people, lesson learned, stick with the big companies or even Amazon products with GOOD reviews because we know at this point with all their bad reviews, it definitely isn't us. And we can move on happy knowing we don't have to work with these miserable bug people. read more

Boo, boo, and boo. As I can see from the other reviews- I fell for the "one time offer" also. The salesman never mentioned that this contract was continuing and that I'd be trapped with this service. I called to cancel and they said it would cost more to cancel than to continue. I spoke with a manager who instantly said she would lower my cost each month by ten dollars, which makes me thing that is their protocol and is so shady. Trap people in a contract but "we'll take $10 off for you." Avoid this business at all costs. I never thought I'd encounter a predatory pest control company. Super lame and super shady. They sprayed the wrong yard of the neighbors. When we called the Office Secretary was positive they did our yard. They even sent the picture...Of the wrong yard !!! Its been 10 days and we have not heard a word. The neighbors yard got sprayed with our money. This company preys on young college kids with the promise of making money in the summer. Long story short my son drove to Dallas to sale pest control door to door. Using his own gas and car. When he realized that this was not working. They only get paid per sale he wanted to come home. He has to pay the company 2000 for rent that he lived in with 5 other people. Hawx Pest Control is the most prideful company I know. All they care about is getting their money. Sales reps, technicains, and employees arent even on the same page, they all say their own thing. Your sold one thing, techs do another, and employees say something else. They advertise being apart of their "family". It couldnt be more FAR from one. Please save yourself future problems. Soon as your locked in a contract you better be 101% comitted to finish it or your paying hundereds of dollars in cancellation fee's. Dont bother with them. I love the fact the pesticide is waterproof. It keeps bugs and ants away. Most other companies wash away and the bugs come back.

It sounds like I had a similar experience to many other people. The sales guy told me they were running an offer to do a one time spray with a free follow up. He told me it was a one time thing and I would not be locked into a contract. Well they showed up a second time without me ever talking to them and charged my card $90 which was double what I was quoted for the one time service. I called them up and they sent me a copy of the agreement which clearly had the return visits box unchecked but they told me there is nothing they can do about it. They also told me if I want to cancel the appointments they have scheduled for next year I will be charged over $200 for a cancellation fee. My one time service for $40 has now turned into $450 and they don't even seem to care about their rep lying to me. Absolute liars and a super sketchy business. read more

I would give this company a zero if possible. They are unscrupulous. I received service from them in August 2017. No written record was left. The contract is not verbally explained. You just are asked to sign on their electronic device and you are immediately signed into a contract. They finally cancelled my service on November 21, 2017. I called in a cancellation request in September and then in October. It was confirmed on the phone. However Travis of their company in Farr West Utah called me in the middle of November saying I was still on contract. Utah Division of Consumer Protection is where to file a claim. read more

Terrible company. Sales person solicited for business unannounced. During his pitch I explained I was ok with signing a quarterly contract but that I didn't need treatments in winter months because I was only concerned with ants outdoors. After agreeing to this point I hastily signed a contract as I was trying to get back to my yard work. My fault, should have read the agreement since the two of the quarterly applications were scheduled for the winter months. Office wasn't willing to do anything to help explaining that "I signed the contract". The initial $49 application now is $229 since I am canceling service but I'm willing to pay to be done with this deceptive company. read more

Don't get scammed by these guys. The door-to-door soliciting salesman promises you a bug free home, but beware! The guys who come spray your home are there for maybe 5 minutes and you will notice MORE bugs AFTER they come than before. The salesman promised me that the eaves and window wells in our home would be wiped out and sprayed thoroughly - but that has never happened. They pressure you to give them your credit card # for auto payments and when you pay with a cheque, they conveniently misplace it so they can pressure you to give them a credit card number. I was not happy with this service and cancelled - you should all know there is a $179 cancellation fee. I would not recommend these guys to anybody. Save yourself $150 and go to Walmart and buy some Bug Defense home spray. You can do a better job yourself and that stuff actually works better. read more

High prices, mediocre service. I used Hawx for pest control and lawn care. Pest control is ok. Lawn service? No way. Aerating was part of their package but was never done. When I inquired about it in the spring, I was told that they do that in the fall but here it is winter and nada, nothing. Also, when they came to fertilize they burned several spots in my lawn and spilled granule fertilizer all over my driveway and didn't clean it up. When I called to complain I was told they would be happy to come back out. Huh? How are they going to fix the burned spots in my lawn? And by then I had already cleaned up my driveway. VERY unimpressed. And how does my yard look otherwise? Still lots of strange weeds and grasses. NO improvement AT ALL since Hawx started. read more

After looking through these reviews, I felt it was only right and fair to the company and the general public to know my experience. I have used Hawx and their pest control service since 2014 and I have had the best experience every time! I understand that there can be issues that come up with a growing company.....but just take the time to reach out and talk to them. They have always been kind and respectful whenever I have. There door to door sales person comes and pretends to have you sign a 1 time pest control spray for your home at a speacial price. Ok I thought 1 and done. But they just keep coming back, just like those bugs there trying to get rid of. They sucker you in to initialing on a line that actually signs you up for a year with auto pay. But you are so glad to get what you think is a "killer" deal, you sign away. When they came again, I told them I didn't need there services as it was a 1 time thing. Again and again they came each time I denied their services. Then I get a notice for an insuffiecent funds fee from my bank and why? Because Hawx debited my checking account $209.00, for there services that I never did receive. When I called the supervisor was very rude and interrupted me continually. They refused to refund my money and just kept telling me that I signed a contract. As true as that maybe, there rep falsified information about the service, but they have not heard the last of me yet, as I never received the service. BEWARE ALL!! read more

Company isnt trustworthy and has questionable business practices. I had a salesperson from Hawx show up at my residence on a Saturday afternoon and stated the first service would be $10.00 and then $89.00 for 4 quarterly services. He additionally stated that the services could be cancelled at any time. We set the appointment up for the following Monday where the services were going to be reviewed with the technician and a paid for by check as I didn't have a checkbook available at that time. Low and behold they didn't show nor did they call on that Monday and I went out of town. A period of time passes and Inreceive an invoice in the mail for $99 for the first two services. I called them imediately and told them what was orifinally communicated to me and they stated that it was $89 per quarterly visit and not $89 for the year. I cancelled the services at that time and paid in full the first two services of which I supposedly received and they then said I was responsible for a $239.99 cancellation fee! I told them I was not paying this as I was originally told there was no cancellation fees and the initial service date wasn't upheld nor were any communication to reschedule attempted by Hawx. Sales Rep came to my door and offer to spray my yard for pest and take down a bee hive for a one-time payment of $60 to try them out. He mentioned that there was no contract and that this would be a one-time service. If I wanted to continue service he said to reach out to them to work out the different plans. A couple of months past and I get an email stating that they serviced my house again and that they pulled $99 payment from my credit card. WTF!!! I called their customer service and they mentioned that I signed a contract for 1 year and the sales rep told me I was signing to authorized the 1 payment to try out. To cancel I will need to pay $150. Needless to say I was lied to by their sales rep and their customer service team was rude. Also, the service they provided I could have done myself with items purchased from local department store. Stay clear of Hawx Pest Control no matter what state you live in. read more
