Rented a Moomba boat from the Marina the last 3 years. I called to reserve the boat this year and the person sent me the invoice. The invoice was approximately $288 which was close to the same I paid the previous year. A few weeks later I got my credit card charge and it was charged $288 twice. I called the marina and was told there is new ownership and that prices have approximately doubled, the invoice I was given was my reservation deposit of half. The new Marina owners also charged me for the use of the tube without telling me there was a charge for it. Previous years of renting the boat the tube was free. I was also charged a $16 processing fee that I was not told about ahead of time. Manager told me it was her word verses mine. Feel very deceived by new ownership. read more

Horrible year after year price gouging. Was told basically they are entitled to raise mooring rates by 10% yearly. I've managed a 100 space mobile home park on the river for over 18 years and although price increases do happen (3-5 yrs or so) we never did this annually to our park patrons. Sorry, $6,300 for summer season???? Let's break that down. There are approximately 3 months of usable enjoyable lake weather. That basically comes out to $525 per week. Sorry even if I exceed at work I only receive a 2% increase on my pay annually. Last year the marina decided to host a bunch of member events, issue certificates for $50 a free gas and two $50 certificates for food, vouchers, and purchased an 8 person shuttle golf cart to transport guests back and forth to honeysuckle for overflow parking. I never asked for any of those things and all of those "said upgrades" are funded through mooring fees. I am not interested in mingling with members or the Marina staff at wine mixers. I simply wanted a place to moore the boat so that I can enjoy time with my friends and family on the lake. read more

My family rented a pontoon boat for 8 hours on 7/4. Upon our arrival a very young teen showed us how everything on the boat worked. He mentioned he wasn't old enough to drive a boat yet, but was very sweet and went through everything he thought we needed to know. The boat rental came with a large tube for us to tow around the lake. It wasn't until we had someone in the water that we realized that we had no ladder! We went back and asked for a ladder and were told it was broke and we were out of luck. Unfortunately, we dealt with an adult having a panic attack in the water when she was unable to get herself back on the boat. We had to flag down another boat and get help. She was humiliated. And while this was happening our autistic 19 year old cousin was watching. He had been thinking about trying to go out in the water, but is now terrified and will likely never give it a try. Once back at the marina, the manager tried placing the blame on us. She even went as far as lying and telling us we were notified ahead of time of their faulty equipment. Once she realized that she in fact did not have anything noted on our paperwork about the lack of a ladder, she gave us a refund. She then proceeded to berate the kid who set us up with the boat in front of us and told us that he would likely be fired. Do not give your business to an adult who puts their customers in danger and blames children for her mistakes. She should be ashamed of herself and if that kid wasn't fired, he should quit and find someone better to work for! read more

My family and I rented a Mastercraft Wave Boat from Hayden Lake Marina on September 3, 2018 for Labor Day. They had plenty of parking spots on both sides of the street and a woman at the Marina directed us across the street to the grey "Rentals" building. The attendant quickly handled the paperwork and gave us a walkthrough of the boat. As a first time wave boat driver (only pontoons previously), I particularly appreciated his attention to detail and his eagerness to answer any questions I had. We had a great day on the lake! The boat was well equipped with plenty of life jackets and sport accessories (tube, wake boards, surf boards, skis, etc). The lake itself was in great shape, with fairly minimal traffic for a holiday. The marina is easy access for anyone in the Coeur d'Alene area and well described as a "hidden gem". (We've rented on Lake Coeur d'Alene and Lake Pend Oreille previously - both great lakes, just a lot busier). This was our first time renting from Hayden Lake Marina and we'll definitely be doing so again. Tip: Be sure to confirm the checkout process with your attendant. When I came back there was no one at the rental building and it took a few minutes to figure out what to do. read more

The staff is great, but the marina is guilty of price gouging to the extreme. We just paid over $8 a gallon for gas at the marina. The same gas in town is $4.49. Seriously!!!!! $0.75 to $1.00 a gallon above what's being paid for in town is understandable....but paying almost double....that's criminal!!!! read more

We have moored at this marina for over 8 years and it was wonderful until the new owners took over. Since then, we have seen two HUGE price increases and very few of the promised improvements. If you are happy with paying Florida and California prices then this place is for you. It is completely outrageous what they are doing to their loyal customers. Bathrooms have been disgusting and gas is nearly $9 a gallon. We hate to leave because it has been our home away from home for many years but there is just no way to justify paying more than $6,000 for just a few months of mooring a small boat! Check out other marinas! We were able to easily secure a spot at Bayview for almost half of what Hayden Lake charges! Wish they could bring back the previous owners! We miss them! read more

WATCH OUT FOR FUEL COST GOUGING: In July of 2020, we reserved by phone and rented a pontoon boat. The service was great, they delivered to the dock of the house we were renting for the week and our family had a great time. We used about 3/4 of a tank of gas that day. They bill your credit card after your rental to fill up the tank. When I checked my statement later in the month I expected to see a $50 fuel charge. Instead, there was a $134 charge. Surely this was an error. When I called the owner and asked, he explained that they use a high-end fuel which he charges $5.29 a gallon for. WHAT?!?! This was never disclosed upfront in the rental agreement or even mentioned over the phone. In fact, I asked the person on the phone how much we should estimate our gas cost to me and he replied $50-$60. Today on the phone, the owner just kept telling me to now worry about the excessive gas charge but rather focus on how much fun we had as a family. TRUE, we had a wonderful time. The boat was great and the delivery and pick up service was seamless. HOWEVER, I feel that their fuel cost gouging is unethical and I would avoid renting from them again, nor would I recommend them unless you are OK paying $5.29 a gallon or you get all of these costs in writing upfront prior to renting. read more

The Hayden Lake Marina is awesome! I've been going in and out of there for the last 10 plus years and everyone there is super friendly and out going. The whole place is looking really nice there and the food at The Boathouse is supreme. Nels does a killer job there, keep up the good work my friend. I'm already looking forward to next summer. If your in the Coeur d' Alene or Hayden area, I would definitely check out this marina and see what fun things you could find there to do. Cheers! read more

Extremely impressed with Nels and his crew at Hayden Lake Marina. We rented his Moomba wakeboard boat for a weekend and it was an awesome boat. More importantly, the service we got from Nels and his guys was top notch. I called and asked for a price and he gave me a much better deal than what's on the web site (it was early summer). I will definitely rent from Hayden Lake Marina again next time we're there. read more
