It was less expensive to travel to our hotel this way as compared to using a taxi , bus, or other means of transportation. It was smooth trip that took about 30 minutes. Faster than the other modes of transportation. The Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 Underground station is convenient to use and easy to navigate even for tourists like us. The signs give good direction and instructions. If you have questions, there are attendants all over the station to help. Just ask.

Bus stops are on the North side of the tracks that go to Uxbridge and other places. These are the London bus routes 222, 350, U1, U3 and U5.

Upstairs is a rather functional and boring building with waiting areas for the bus stations to local places and a good amount of room for dropping off/picking up friends. It might actually be easier to get here, compared to the regular places at the airport! I did spot a taxi stand. There is no step-free access, which can be a challenge if you have heavy luggage. Not many people know this (or at least people I talked to so far) that if you are a star alliance gold, complimentary upgrade to the first class of seats are available. No need to buy first class ticket, just show your card to the attendant and take an available seat. Seat is pretty comfortable and get to charge your phone while on board. Short ride felt really short. WiFi worked good for quick email check.

The gate / terminale signage is very well marked. It was very easy to maneuver around this airport. Not all Picadilly lines in this direction go all the way to Heathrow, let alone every terminal. I found it frustrating to then find departures from the underground. I HAD to take an elevator, or at least that is what an airport worker advised. I would have preferred stairs or escalator, but it seemed impossible and a lift was required. Still, I would make this choice in the future to get to central London or back to the airport from central London. It is affordable and fairly easy, especially if you had a small amount of luggage.
