They are very well trained to help us fur baby parents get help for our babies. We brought in our little 3.5 lb Yorkie as she was having lose stools, lethargic, and seemed to have some respiratory issues however she was eating regularly. The doctor introduced herself and spent a long time making sure all our questions were answered. The staff was so friendly and handled our very high anxiety tiny girl with so much care. I only wish they had internal medicine Vets there to be able to handle more issues. Otherwise they are great! read more

They added a separate vaccination for Lepto that is included at other vet offices and was not necessary for two small dogs who are barely outdoors. My two-year-old Maine coon kitten had a blockage and they refused to do surgery on him because they were "too busy". Best vet practice in Hernando County - highly underrated on Yelp. Dr. Olivia (one of the newer vets as opposed to both Dr. Wempes) is alway patient, level-headed and takes the time to listen to my concerns and give appropriate professional advice when needed. The office is always clean and tidy. Recently, my 10 month old golden retriever was able to be seen the same day for an emergency appointment because they believed she may have a blockage from eating something she shouldn't have. The front desk receptionist, Jayden, is always very kind, patient and doesn't interrupt when you tell her your concerns. I've also had great success using their app to book normal appointments and request refills of my puppy's monthly flea/tick/heart worm preventative which makes that process easier on me. Lastly, my puppy has medical insurance and their office is willing to assist with insurance claims and printing invoices so I am appreciative of that as well. I am extremely grateful for this vet practice and can't recommend them enough. read more

Summary of the medical care problems with our dog Lucky beginning in May 2024. These clinical care problems resulted in a history of failures in the Spring hill animal clinics medical care of Lucky. This is a summary of these problems experienced during the period from May to Mid-August, subsequently we took lucky to a different veterinarian. When lucky was taken to his regular veterinarian, Spring hill animal clinic, in May, for diarrhea, they ran a blood analysis. performed Dr. Dave indicated that lucky had symptoms of a stomach infection and prescribed antibiotics. In addition, he prescribed a special diet for stomach problem, --- absolutely incorrect for a dog with kidney disease. Later a petri dish test of bacteria analysis of feces was performed, which the clinic reported to us as being negative. During the summer we were still having the problem of Lucky's diarrhea. We had previously informed the doctor that Lucky had occasional tremors, which were attributed to nerves. We started researching the blood results taken during normal blood examinations and concluded that kidney disease might be indicating all the other symptoms. Kidney disease symptoms were never addressed to us by Dr. Dave or anyone else at this clinic. Not being knowledgeable medical personal, which we depend on and trust ---a trust that we believe was misplaced and would later prove to us as being cruelly misplaced. After doing our own research we requested the clinic do a blood evaluation specifically addressing kidney function. This test was performed by the spring hill animal clinic and laid on their desk for several days, although, the tests indicated stage 4 kidney failure. Such test takes 24 hours by a lab, but were returned to us a week later. We had to telephone the clinic approximately fifteen times before reaching them to find out that we needed to bring lucky in to see the doctor. When ask about the result we were told that the result could not be communicated over the telephone, we then ask that the results be e-mailed to us, which it was. No Urgency was communicated, only to consider making an appointment. "While our dog was in critical condition and Dying" Upon looking at the results, we were irate that the results were available the next day and that we had not been informed of their critical nature. We complained to the manager Jessica who agreed with every concern and the fact that her Staff/Clinic failed us and our pet. We still have not received any feedback from the clinic, which we requested. We had spent over 2000 dollars at this clinic to only find out that we and our dog had, in our opinion, received uncaring, incompetent, unconscientious service. We immediately took Lucky to another Veterinarian. Lucky was in critical condition and spend three days in the hospital, on a I.V. We had to take Lucky back several times, he was placed on a special diet for kidney disease, and we have to give IV Fluids under his skin every day. By having proper care and diet, if diagnosed/treated by a competent Veterinarian Lucky could have survived several more years, at this time, the prognosis for any type of long-term survival is not probable. Our conclusion is that Spring Hill Animal Clinics only concern is extracting every penny from pet owners and could care less whether the pet lives or dies. read more

We've been going to this vet for almost a decade.Sadly since under new management it went downhill. We took our dog to have her tumor removed completely so our dog that's 10 years old with a heart murmur wouldn't have to go under anesthesia more than once. Dr. Olivia spoke with both my daughter and I and said she didn't feel comfortable about removing it because of the margins but would get as much as she could. When Dr Olivia called she said she was happy with what she got and everything looked great. When I went to pick her up she did not look as what I expected, barely anything was taken off and blood work was never done!!She had no cone and no bandages because DeeDee said she didn't think it was necessary which is crazy!We came back home and she started bleeding, the same day we took her back DeeDee the vet tech looked at her said she looked fine even tho she was still bleeding. She also told me that the bleeding should stop the next day. The next day came and she was heavily bleeding and I brought her back. The vet not once told us that it was going to bleed like that. Dr. Olivia bandaged her up and I had to ask for a cone for her and we went home. The following day which was a Saturday our dog looked like she got hit by a truck and when we took the bandage off she had tape stuck to her fur under her neck which I do have a video of and she was crying because we had to pull it off of her fur!! Blood constantly pouring,it never stopped since the biopsy there! We rushed to the ER which was amazing, they did bloodwork on her and found out her liver was bad. The ER doc said from the all the bleeding from looking at the bloodwork we would of had to take her in asap in the next few day to remove the bleeding tumor because her health was declining from all the blood loss. I went back up there and talked to Leilani the new Manager about the negligence on our dog just to be called a liar.I also tried to talk to Leilana about still getting the test results because my daughter paid for and she wanted me to ask but Leilani yelled at me saying she was calling the cops! I left calmly and she even sent the cops to my personal residence! DO NOT GO THERE. We have spent thousands and thousands and they show no empathy or compassion. I'm also going to put a complaint into the Dept of Business and Professional Relations. Dr. Olivia's license is VM 12539 if anybody else needs it. read more

My husband and I brought a brand new puppy for his health check up on a Thursday (as required by our breeder to ensure the health warranty on a $4500 dog). We both expressed concerns regarding rapid breathing and constant stooling that did not seem normal. We were told they were testing his stool. Our concerns were dismissed as routine puppy issues and his stool was "negative". By Sunday, our 8 week old puppy was stooling frank red blood, was lethargic and had labored breathing. I had to take him to the Urgent Vet that Sunday morning and when they asked for his symptoms over the phone- they said they needed to test for Giardia and Parvo. THANKFULLY the Urgent Vet on 54 has competent and caring staff since our puppy tested POSITIVE for Giardia and required fluids for his significant dehydration status in addition to the corresponding antibiotic/dewormer treatment required. The Clinic dismissed our feedback and couldn't care less about a potential fatal error they made. Thank you URGENT VET on SR 54 for saving our baby. SpringHill Animal clinic- you would be wise to review this case so you don't harm any more animals with careless practice. I'm disappointed at your lack of concern for an innocent puppy and will be using VCA San Francis for our 3 fur babies. read more

They said nothing did nothing and gave him a prescription for joint pain... little did we know although suspected.. he was in organ failure, he violently died of sepsis shock last night. 6 days after being "seen" and told his joints are swelling it's from old age. The first of 3 visits over the last few months, they in fact said " he anatomically is no where near the end of his life, he's just a little anemic, on paper he's near perfect." Second visit: seems like he could be acting out for attention. Let's do a stool sample to make sure he doesn't have worms????? Uhhh? Really? Third and final... he has joint problems, bye. Nothing. Nothing else. I'm telling you he's asking like he's suffering and is at end of life and you said here's some doggy treats for joint pain. You should be ashamed of your faulty practices. When my other dogs prescribed medication was messed up, you blamed it on the both times we had been there within 6 months was because I burdened you with seeing a "relief dr" well.. WHY DO YOU HAVE THOSE THERE TO BEGIN WITH IF YOU DONT BACK THEM???? That's my fault you employee people like that and my fault you scheduled us with them? You guys are a nightmare. A complete shame. Absolutely in it for profit and not for the care of animals. Money was no issue for us and you dismissed our baby and I was right... he suffered, VIOLENTLY in front of our children last night. In the past, I have given this Clinic five stars but, I can't with good conscious give Spring Hill Animal Clinic any stars! I have been going to this facility for more than 11 years. When it was just Drs. Stacy and David Wempe, I loved this veterinary clinic. They were both caring and knowledgeable. But, recently with the limited days the two owner/vets now see patients, the addition of more vets, the inception of the "curbside service", etc. I have become more and more disturbed with the service and professionalism my dogs and I receive here. Recently I have had two very disturbing encounters with office staff on the phone and "curbside". The most recent encounter was the most disturbing for me. I called for a follow-up appointment for my female who had been seen by Dr. Stacy. I was told Dr. Navarro would squeeze her in. I indicated that we could wait for an opening, squeezing wasn't necessary. They insisted Dr. Navarro was fine with this. While preparing to bring my female, my male jumped off of the bed and hurt his front leg. He was screaming and bearing no weight on it. I put him in the car with my female and headed to the clinic. When I arrived, I explained about my male and asked that the doctor at least palpate his leg to see if she thought it was broken or dislocated. After again being told that the doctor was squeezing my female in, I indicated that she was not an emergency and I felt my injured male was, so she need only see my male. She returned to the clinic. Upon her return to my car, she indicated that Dr. Navarro was way behind, would have to give my male a complete physical and was already doing me a favor seeing my female, etc. I couldn't understand why she needed to do a complete physical on my male he had been going to the Wempes for 7 years and he didn't need a physical. She insisted on the conditions outlined so, I told her I would free up Dr. Navarro's schedule a little and take both of my dogs elsewhere. I asked that either Dr. Stacy or Dr. Dave give me a call on Monday when they returned. So, I received no call from either Wempes. It's my guess emergencies don't matter anymore, nor do long time loyal patients at Spring Hill Animal Clinic. Thank God this wasn't a life or death emergency! This was the final straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak. I'm done! read more

This review is NOT about the techs that deal with the animals, but with the FIRST person you see when you walk in the door. I have never been to this clinic; I was doing a favor for a neighbor. The first words out of the receptionists mouth were, "What's your dogs name? I told her the dog WASN'T mine, but his name was Harley. She went back on the computer & was joined by another receptionist & started chatting while we stood there. No one addressed us so we went to sit down. After we were sitting for 10 minutes, I went up to the desk & I was upset. I told her I had never been here before & i had no idea what the protocol was...so WHAT'S going on. She got snippy & said she didn't KNOW i was new, but DOES THAT REALLY MATTER?? When anyone comes in they should be greeted with : Good morning (afternoon, evening), how can I help you???? Called again around 3:30 pm and got the same machine. Finally gave up and called another vet. Would have given this clinic 5 stars in the past, but the quality of care has been declining. Today, our pet pharmacy called and they had rejected our pet's medications. No big problem, but I would recommend that you consider someone other than Spring Hill Animal Clinic. We were told by the SHAC that our vet, Dr. Noyes, had moved to Tampa. That was a lie. Found out he opened a clinic in town. Guess where Gilbert is going now? Changed vets after a bad experience elsewhere in our county, and I have to say that this clinic is fabulous. Dr. Stacy is wonderful, and her staff is beyond terrific. When I pull up and phone in that I'm in their parking lot (Covid situation), I have my phone's speaker on, and the minute my dog hears Paula's voice, she starts wagging her tail and trying to get out. She absolutely loves everyone at the clinic. I've had several animals and dealt with numerous clinics/vets over the last 30+ years, and this clinic is the best I've ever encountered. The best vet office around!!!!! There so accommodating and compassionate. I've called several times last minute for appointments, and they have always worked it out for me. I'm so appreciative for all the staff there. Dr. Noyes is my vet for both of my fur babies. He is gentle, assertive, and only does what is necessary there is never an up-sell like some other vets I've had my animals go to in the past. They really do care! I really liked our Vet Tech the first few times. The location is clean. Both vets we dealt with were very nice. They worked with us on the first visit to get us in that day. When I call for a refill they are fast and really good about helping me right away. They seemed really helpful. My only concern is we paid about $1600 for heart worm treatment but our dog is still coughing months later. I don't have tons of money so I am worried this course of treatment wasn't the best for our dog if it was unsuccessful. read more

A very great animal clinic that is underrated in Yelp. Best veterinary clinic that our family could hope for. Our family moved to Brooksville last September from Hawaii. We of course brought our lovable pit bull to be with us. We knew that our dog might face some challenges in her new environment but we assumed that she would figure it out on her own. A couple months later we went to Disney World for a few days and had my mother house sit for us. She gave me a call a couple days into the trip saying my dog was on the ground shaking and breathing hard, we immediately came home. We called a couple of vet clinics only to be told that they would charge some sort of emergency fee for having our dog seen ASAP. We then ended up calling Spring Hill Animal Clinic and once we explained the situation they said to bring her in as soon as we could. From the staff to doctors, they were all very nice and professional. They asked us if it was ok to run some tests. The tests came back pretty bad, our dog was not doing too well. Since they closed at night we were able to bring her home with some meds and took her back in the morning. We thought she was doing better but we soon found out after being monitored at the clinic for a few hours that she was not. The doctor told us all of our options, we had one of the hardest decisions to make that day. We thought about it hard, I'm still not sure if we made the right decision till this day, but it does help knowing that our fur baby doesn't feel anymore pain. Throughout everything they were understanding and compassionate, something we needed at that time. They even sent us a sympathy card which really meant a lot to us especially since it was the holiday season. When we have future pets we will definitely bring them here! They love animals and although they are a business, their prices are very reasonable. I recently took my two elderly kids (dogs) to this clinic and was a bit apprehensive after having had a bad experience at another local vet. One of the dogs has Cushing's disease that had turned into Addison's and I was extremely worried. After going to this clinic I will never go to another. My sick dog's disease is now under the proper medication and doing very well. What a weight off my mind. Dr. Dave and Dr. Stacy found a pitbull/lab puppy on the steps of their old clinic ten years ago. He was abandoned with a case of mange and a broken leg. They nursed him back to health for a few months and then convinced me to take him in. He has been the best dog a guy could ever ask for. About a year ago, I found a small lump between his back legs. That lump grew into a 2 1/2 pound growth. Buddy had stopped eating and his skin was covered in a horrible rash. I now live in Dallas and I took him to a local surgeon to see if I could save him. The dr. said that it would be too risky of a surgery at Buddy's age and I agreed. I called Dr. Dave to get his advice. He agreed that the local dr. made the correct diagnosis, but said he would do the surgery with my approval. My fiancee (Buddy's mom) and I stuffed that 125 lb dog in the back of my Rav4 and drove him 18 hours to Spring Hill Animal Clinic. Dr. Dave took that 2.44 pound growth off in about an hour, got him on several different kinds of medicine for his weight and skin and now I have a brand new dog on my hands. Buddy acts like a puppy again and couldn't be any happier. I think he has a few more years left in him, which is great, because I surely wasn't ready to let him go. You can't ask for better people to take care of your pets. read more
