This was a pleasant surprise bc I happened upon Hayters after ordering bbq at Hurtado. There was no seating and we found out that we could have our order delivered to Hayters which is right next door. There is both inside and outside sitting. I ordered a French 75 which was made perfectly. There was silverware as well as napkins and condiments so we didn't have to go back Nextdoor. Parking was plentiful and the bathrooms were super clean despite this being a busy time as well as there being a cowboys home game. read more

Went to this bar on a Saturday night, and I found it on Yelp. It is a hidden gem. There is decent parking right outside the bar if you get there at the right time. Otherwise, you may have to drive around a little bit, but all the parking appears to be free. There is outside seating and a nice amount of seating inside the bar. They have specials throughout the week M-F. Since it was my first time there. I didn't know exactly where to sit. But as soon as the waitress saw us, she said we were welcome to sit anywhere. She asked if we wanted to drink, and we said it was our first time there. She advised us of the holiday drink specials that they were offering and made a recommendation based on our taste. My first drink was old-fashioned. It was very tasty, especially if you like whiskey. My second drink was the cranberry raspberry whiskey sour. If you like sweet with a hint of whiskey, this is the drink for you, but out of the two, my favorite was the old-fashioned This bar has a chill vibe, friendly staff, and food right across the way. And they will bring it to you if you are a guest in the bar, very convenient. I will definitely be back. read more

This is a nice little spot to chill when the weather is nice. The drinks aren't too expensive and you can eat BBQ from next door. My only complaint is they have Pepsi products and not Coke. I'm not sure what that's about but Pepsi? Anyways it's a good little hang out spot. read more

I really liked this place. My friend and I came to check it out for happy hour during the week. The folks behind the bar were fun and didn't mind us throwing some questions at them. I ordered the cucumber refresco. It was refreshing and had a little bit of a bite. It was very tasty. Cocktails on their menu are $10 but during happy hour they do $5 crown and down and $3 wells. There was a woman next to me at the bar who ordered some nachos to go and said that they were outstanding. So there's that. There aren't a whole lot of tables available inside, but they have set up a nice patio between Hurtado, who also owns Hayters, and when the weather is nice that is the place to be. read more

A few coworkers and I went to this location and it was great. The BBQ restaurant is just across the way (you've got to go over there and order your food, which isn't really an inconvenience), but the bar itself serves great drinks--I got an Old Fashioned. We weren't there for long, but this is one of those places in Arlington that was good enough that we'll return and maybe schedule a get-together there for other UTA folks. Stopped in recently after seeing they were open. I'm always worth a visit to something new that interests me in wonderful central Arlington. Also I wanted to get in early because new places around here can get crowded quickly. I think Hayters will be pretty popular. Small inside, but not in a bad way. Don't see it ever having to be elbow to elbow in here. There's room to move around. Several tables, and about 8-10 bar stools. You also have use of the Hurtado patio. Drink menu (sigh, pretty much everywhere now, fine) and I did get something off of it, the El Jefe. I sat at the bar. Had a little bad karma at first when one bartender ghosted me, but the other one who greeted me outside walked in and waited on me. The other one picked up the service game during the visit, so all good, all forgiven, service was fast and friendly the whole visit. I ordered a couple of the carnitas street tacos. The El Jefe was really good, and had some kick to it. The carnitas were some of the best stuff I've had out of Hurtado, they were really good, and for $5 for two, well worth the price. The El Jefe was $12, and also worth it. They had several beers on draft, and what seemed like a good selection of booze. Digital TouchTunes jukebox on the wall. Good layout of TV's on the wall behind the bar. It's a nice place, and I'll keep dropping by until they get so popular I can't get in the door. read more

This is a great bar, really comfortable, really simple. I'd had drinks here before when eating at Hurtado Barbecue next door -- they share an outdoor patio space with picnic tables and corn hole, and you can order drinks from Hayters from outside. The bartenders are always cool and friendly and quick. It can get really busy but somehow the atmosphere is ever relaxed. Maybe it's the smell of barbecue in the air. Cool place. Tonight was actually their grand opening, the place has been open a couple of weeks as a soft opening. Looks as if they are still trying to work out a few kinks, but we had a good time. Drinks were good, a small menu of craft cocktails and a handful of beers (draft and canned). It kind of has a divey feel to it. Indoor and outdoor seating, sharing the outdoor with Hurtados - after all the place is owned by him!! Therefore they sell a grub as well, which I believe varies most nights, between tacos, loaded fries etc... So you get hurtado meat without the wait!! They have been offering $1 Coors drafts, though not sure how long this will continue. Their website is pretty minimal; just cocktails and beer menu, no prices. When our bill came we got $2 off a cocktail, I don't know if it was Happy Hour or cause it was opening night, but I won't complain! Cool place to hit up. read more

Went for taco Tuesday w some buddies who are frequent flyers there hoping for the brisket tacos. NO brisket tacos !! Pork and the "picadillo" tacos were just OK with a small spoonful of meat in the tiny tortillas. Albeit they were $1.00 tacos .. really wanted those brisket tacos. Beer was nice and cold, just need to improve the tacos. Charge $2.00 or $3.00 per taco, just make them better and offer brisket and maybe add fish or shrimp. read more

I am 27 with a wife and baby. I go here with my family and my parents. I'm not a bachelor that goes here with friends looking to get drunk. We have been going here for years and seen crazy turn over. Whoever the new bar manager is I don't recall his name but he has ruined that place for me and my family we won't be coming back. It's a shame because we liked going there. I know the reason why the new bar manager acts like a stickler but it completely kills the vibe of the place that it had for years way before him. I was questioned and talk to like I was a ID impersonating underage punk. Because I have a beard and long hair now my ID doesn't look exactly like me. I pull out my military ID and another form of ID and say I am this person. He still questions it. After examining further he decides to serve me but if you think I stole 3 ID's just call the cops so they can tell you you are wrong. I'm not some punk kid very ridiculous experience. Apparently my family went without me another time and had issues with him again. I get he might deal with some punks acting like they are old enough or drunk people but no need for the amount of attitude and questioning I got. read more

We took some friends here recently, and it was our first time as well. First, let me say that they've got excellent Saturday and Sunday specials...micheladas for like $5? All day. And they're delicious. We had excellent service as well (shout out to our server who brought my dear friend a shot to help us celebrate her recent graduation). Also, I'm sure this has already been said, but they will bring you tacos from Hurtados after 5! We tried to go over to Hurtados around 4:00, but they were sold out of most things (because duh, they're famous), so we figured we'd just wait til 5 for the tacos. It's 3 for $5 which is a hell of a deal. And they were delicious. I don't think you get much say in what kind of tacos, since I think it's just whatever they haven't sold out of next door, but who cares - they're delicious.
