Our family's experience with AccentCare Hospice in Miami was deeply distressing and, in our view,…read moreunacceptable. The last few weeks of my brother's life were made far worse by their inadequate and ineffective assistance. During intake, we were led to believe our loved one could continue receiving treatment, hydration, and medications necessary for comfort and quality of life while at home. However, shortly after enrollment, key elements of his care were discontinued, including hydration and nutritional support that were critical to his condition. While he was being managed by home hospice, equipment and care coordination were inconsistent and poorly managed. Our son was promised modern TPN equipment which would be battery powered, allowing him to continue minor activities inside and outside the home. However, the TPN equipment provided was incorrect and antiquated, preventing him from participating in his young children's pastimes during his final days at home. Equipment was continuously delayed, nurses were unfamiliar with the machines, and we were left searching for tutorials and outside help to operate critical equipment. Communication barriers also created serious challenges, as many caregivers could not effectively communicate in English. Pain management and safety concerns further compounded the situation. We were told a pain pump could be self-administered, but the device arrived late and without necessary components. When he became too sedated from medication to move safely, our concerns were dismissed. One night, he fell while attempting to get out of bed; the monitoring equipment had failed due to dead batteries, and we do not know how long he was on the floor. Although administration later apologized and provided overnight coverage, the damage was done. Instead of providing comfort and dignity during his final weeks, the experience created stress and fear for our family. Families facing end-of-life care deserve compassionate, competent, and coordinated support. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of that standard.

If you're traveling to Miami for surgery and don't have someone to take care of you afterward,…read moreplease do yourself a favor and book Charm Home Miami. It was truly the best decision I made, and I honestly don't know how I would have gotten through my recovery without them. They offer both private suites and shared rooms for those on a budget, provide three delicious meals a day, transportation to and from the airport, and rides to your pre-op and post-op appointments. But what makes this place so special isn't the amenities--it's the people. The women here cared for me with so much kindness, patience, and compassion. After surgery, I couldn't even use the bathroom by myself. They helped me shower, changed my pads, cleaned my faja, made sure I was comfortable, and checked on me constantly. I had care during the day, at night, and overnight, and I never once felt alone or like I was a burden. Recovery can be scary and emotional, especially when you're far from home. They made me feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for every step of the way. They even arranged for lymphatic massage therapists to come to the house, so I didn't have to leave while managing my drainage bags. Every detail was thought of to make recovery as easy and stress-free as possible. A very special thank you to Adriana, Debbie, and Josie. You didn't just take care of me--you gave me comfort, encouragement, and peace of mind during one of the most vulnerable times in my life. I will never forget your kindness. I feel so blessed that I found Charm Home Miami. If you're wondering where to recover after surgery, stop looking. This is the place. I recommend them with my whole heart

I stayed at Charm from 7/23 to 7/30 and this was the best part of my entire surgery experience. I had no idea what kind of care to expect and was quite scared of the entire process, but I was blown away with every single person I dealt with at Charm. I don't speak Spanish and most of the ladies didn't speak English but they had translator apps ready and we communicated well. Language was no barrier at all. I learned a few Spanish words, they learned some English ones and we had lots of laughs. I paid for a private room with shared bathroom which was perfect for me. Everything was so clean and comfortable. I stayed the night before my surgery so when I needed to go, they woke me up and got me an Uber to go to my surgery. Maria then picked me up after I was done and took me back to Charm. The amount of care they showed me still gives me goosebumps just thinking about how great they were. When we got to the house they had additional people waiting all to help me inside and get me situated. Then they constantly checked on me and made sure I had food, water, medicine, TV, etc. I had a call button, which I used a lot since I couldn't get in or out of the chair or when I couldn't reach anything. There was not a single request I made that made me feel I was asking too much or I was a bother. I remember when I first had to use the restroom shortly after the surgery and I was standing there thinking to just let me die from this pain as I almost passed out, they were ready with rubbing alcohol spray bottles, holding me up and getting me through it. These women are Angels! I just can't thank them all enough! Adriana, Maria, Leidy, Loreidi, and the other 2 (I'm so sorry I didn't write those names down), I would not have survived this without you all and I am so thankful to you all. I hope I never need to have surgery like this again, but if I do, I will be back at Charm for sure.

I just searched Yelp to find some ways for help and made many calls. Then I tried Responsive Home Care. Genevieve called me back and explained that they provide in home care but do not provide nursing care and she gave me the cell phone numbers of direct contacts who could help with the nursing, including Complete Home Care who came thru big time and then divided in home nursing starting the next day. If it weren't for Genevieve's help I would never have gotten that nursing visits that quickly before the weekend. Now, I knew I also needed in home care to start as well. And working with Genevieve we started with 5-day service the following week. My mom was recovering from a severe infection and my dad has issues with eyesight and needed help w taking care of her, keeping house fit, light food prep, and driving to doctors appointments. Valdine was their in-home care provider and did a great job in helping my mom to get back on her feet and my dad to feel things were all good. I can't thank Responsive Home Care and Genevieve in particular for helping me in this tough situation when I was stuck on the other side of the. country. I recommend them highly.
