Granny Nannies was the first company that offered everything we were looking for--and they exceeded all expectations. From the start, the administrative team--including my case manager and the owners, Melvin and Meghan--were consistently responsive, supportive, and genuinely invested in my mother's care. My mother shares her home with her 93-year-old partner, who also has dementia, and Granny Nannies understood the complexity of caring for both of them. Our primary caregiver, Marie A., was truly exceptional. With over 20 years of experience, she brought not only professionalism but deep compassion and warmth to her work every single day. Marie cared for all of their needs--providing physical and emotional support, managing doctor appointments, coordinating care, and keeping the household running smoothly. Her presence brought peace of mind to our whole family. She supported them through a wide range of challenges, including a broken hip, anxiety, depression, and the daily realities of dementia. Marie consistently went above and beyond in every way, and we are endlessly grateful for her dedication. We were also fortunate to have Anna G. assist Marie at times. Anna is sweet, warm, and caring--her gentle presence brought additional comfort and kindness to the home. She and Marie worked together beautifully to provide consistent, high-quality care. We feel incredibly lucky to have had such a remarkable team by our side during such a difficult and emotional time. I wholeheartedly recommend Granny Nannies to anyone seeking compassionate, professional, and truly outstanding care for their loved ones.

Annabel is a very caring professional. She exudes happiness and helped to cheer me up which, I think, helped me to heal. Always helping me with my needs even in the middle of the night and with a smile on her face. I also had a wonderful experience with Thaura Abdalia for several months. Thaura, also very professional and helpful and she is a gentle soul. Always willing to do whatever I asked to be helpful to me. Easy to talk to and my little dog picked up her good vibes and like to hang out by her, she'd get excited to see her when she arrived. I only saw Elizabeth Cruz for three days but I liked her immediately. Also very professional, and couldn't do enough to make sure my every need was taken care of. I would recommend any of these ladies, they would not disappoint. Granniesnannies apparently hires only the best. The company itself needs a little revamping of organizational skills and better technology to track things. This is the reason I gave only 4 stars. The caretakers would get 5 stars.

Pick who you feel confident in. There should be support physical, emotionally & mentally. This is my frank review. For 15 yrs I have advised seniors & assisted in managing their care & their homes. I personally would not recommend Opus. While the nursing staff seem skilled & some are very attentive, compassionate & friendly there are some that I would not trust. I am involved in 1 case a lengthy conversation was observed between a CNA & a social worker outside a patient's residence. The social worker started pressuring the family to sign the patient into the Opus Hospice facility even though in the past the patient's dementia progressed at a rapid rate due to change in environment. The family pushed back because the patients wish was to remain af home. A few days later a false report was made to DCF alleging neglect & abuse by the family to the patient. DCF did a surprise inspection & immediately ruled that there was no evidence to back up the claim. Patient was clean, well fed, safe, & in good spirits. Potential patient's & families should consider if they are ok with that kind of invasive scrutiny & control. End of life is very stressful - adding fear of judgement can make the situation worse. It also did appear that there might have been some racially motivated opinions involved also.

My mother long had anxiety and was on meds for it before she was even ill. When Miami Jewish transferred her care to their "in house" hospice care, Seasons, the doctor was an animal who would not allow her to have her anxiety meds. We kept trying to get her doctor who now was no longer her doctor because she was in Seasons care to tell them how much this helped her. There was no reason to make my mother's last four days on this earth so horrifying and her final words to me were "What did I ever do to you that you are letting them treat me this way?" I am haunted all the days of my life. We filed a complaint with Miami Jewish and I don't know if they are on the premises there any longer, but use Seasons Hospice nowhere!!!!!

We chose them because they sounded like they were going to make sure our mom had the care she would need when she needed it and would keep us updated on her status since we could not visit because she was dying of covid. We just wanted to make sure she was comfortable and pain free in her last few days. Imagine not being able to be with your mom and hold her while she dies. Now imagine that your told that the hospice nurse would give your family updates at least once a day and you didn't hear a peep from them. That's what we got from seasons. And excuses. And when called, your call goes straight to voicemail. It's unthinkable and heartbreaking. I was able to speak to the nurses at the hospital to get status updates on my own, they didn't forward my calls to voicemail. The only thing I'm grateful for is that we didn't have to deal with this shameful business for long because mom passed away quickly.

In all honesty due to my situation with my dad meaning our relationship I don't fully think they cared or understood my side of the story. It was heartbreaking and very emotional for me to learn that my dad was dying while we were trying to heal- mend our relationship. I did kind of lash out and recommend a family member to take over because it was too much for me in that moment it was just a lot of what people needed me to do and get send and my dad wasn't even dead yet from his family members. I was trying to express this to VITAS Healthcare. When I tried to come back around and ask questions, I was blown off because I said contact another family member. This was too much for me, especially being the only child. I didn't feel any compassion or understanding it was just your requested for us to talk to a different family member so now you reach out to that family member. I pray to God that they never lose a parent, especially them being the only child in their parent was as stray and came around, but was very ill and they don't have to deal with this and be blown off due to their emotions. When you work in the healthcare field, you have to understand all angles emotions, and situations. I would never blow someone off. I will try to help them as much as I can or give them any resources that they need in all honesty. I was very disappointed and my feelings were very hurt. But shout out to Keisha, who was the only one who was there and really wanted to help me as much as she could. She is there for her patients , especially during their time of grievance may God bless her.

I am a mother of four, and my home is not perfect. That does not mean I am neglecting my elderly father. I have had DCF come to my home three separate times because of accusations made about his care, and every single time, they found nothing wrong and left. When I repeatedly explained that the nurses being sent to my home were incompetent, constantly late, unable to communicate properly, and often had no idea what I was talking about, the company continued sending them. Some nurses could barely communicate with me because of the language barrier, making it extremely difficult to properly coordinate my father's care. I eventually had enough and canceled their services. No family should have to feel judged, accused, or ashamed in their own home when they are doing everything they can to care for an elderly parent I was also sent a message telling me that I should lock my dogs up because the nurse does not like animals. My dogs are part of my family, and I am not going to lock them away in my own home because a caregiver does not like animals. Isn't it the company's responsibility to provide a caregiver who is comfortable working in the environment where the care is being provided? I understand that not everyone likes animals, but that should be something the company considers when assigning someone to a client's home. I should not have to constantly change my home or feel uncomfortable in my own house just to accommodate a nurse who was assigned to my father. Please think carefully before trusting this company with the care of your elderly loved ones. My experience was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend their services based on what I experienced.

1-STAR REVIEW FOR VITAS HOSPICE…read more Title: Disorganized, Unreliable, and Emotionally Devastating Experience Our experience with VITAS Hospice in Port St. Lucie was deeply disappointing and added tremendous emotional stress during an already devastating time. We spent two full days communicating with their team, including their admissions coordinator, who repeatedly told us everything was "set up" -- transportation, medical equipment, oxygen, the transfer of our father, etc. We were told to drive to Clearwater Saturday morning and "be ready" because everything was already being handled. That was not true. After hours of phone calls, repeated promises of "we'll call you back in 30 minutes," and speaking with supervisors and a business administrator, NOTHING had been arranged. No transportation. No delivery of equipment. No follow-through. No accountability. Just excuses and apologies. We drove three hours to Clearwater in a panic, believing our father was being transferred, only to find out absolutely nothing had been processed. When a hospice company tells a grieving family "don't worry, we're taking care of it" -- and then does nothing -- that is more than a mistake. It is cruel and emotionally damaging. Hospice is supposed to provide comfort and support. Instead, VITAS left us feeling abandoned, misled, and scrambling to save the situation at the last minute. We immediately contacted Treasure Coast Hospice -- and they accomplished in one hour what VITAS failed to do in two full days. We would never want another family to go through what we went through.

Catholic Hospice Miami was the answer to my prayers. This compassionate team of caring and knowledgeable professionals initially guided me and assisted me in every step of the way. The Team at Saint Anne's was welcoming, helpful and caring, but my father had to be transferred to another Long-Term Living Facility where the Catholic Hospice Miami Lakes Team provided the best possible service. Dr. Villalba visited my father often to ensure his pain was carefully managed, but most importantly he cared for my father's spiritual well-being from his first visit. They had profoundly meaningful conversations which, I am certain, my father appreciated greatly. The doctor communicated with me regularly and was extremely supportive and insightful, always offering to speak to me or any of our family members to ensure we were emotionally well. Also, Case Manager Nurse, Patricia Simeon, always looked after my dad's health with great compassion and was very detailed in providing clear specifics about his care plan. She always answered all my questions, responded promptly to my calls, and always helped me understand the processes my father was undergoing. The compassionate and caring CNAs who visited my father daily to ensure his comfort and cleanliness were a blessing which is why my father was very fond of all of them and felt treated with dignity and sincere empathy and love. I want to thank them with all my heart for the support they provided for my family every step of the way and for the caring way they touched my father's life during his final months.

The lobby actually feels like a nice hotel. It has a wide variety of common areas, including an outdoor courtyard, an entire floor for resident activities, a movie room (theatre) and new apartments for the residents. There is an activities schedule with events from morning until night, 7 days a week. I met with Mark Monaghan, Director of Sales and Marketing. Ever since my first moment with Mark on the initial tour and meeting, I felt comfortable and encouraged. Mark is a true professional with passion and integrity. He guided our family every step of the way through multiple meetings, assessments, and laid out a solid plan for the transition of my mother to an ALF. He is a true leader, and a genuine person who shows how much he cares about families, Things got even better when Mark introduced me to the staff he works directly with. Flavie, the Assistant Director of Nursing assessed my mom, and guided us medically through the transition. Flavie is also genuine and passionate about caring for the residents and communications with the family. Karen, who is the move in coordinator and Mark's assistant was a huge help to us in setting up the apartment and preparing us for move in day. On the actual move in day, she was with my mom and I from start to end. She was great at making our transition smooth, and even gave me her cell phone number, which we communicated on regularly, both pre and post move in day. Daniel, the Activities Director took things to another level on day 1 and forward. He interviewed my mom to know her personality, initiated getting her involved in activities right away, introduced her to residents she is now becoming friends with, and contacts me about her progress. Marc-line is one of the main servers in the dining room. I personally spent over 25 years in Foodservice and Management and have met very few wait staff as pleasant and friendly as her. It was apparent from the very first night when I joined mom for dinner, that Marc-line absolutely loves her position and working with the residents to give great service and enhance the dining experience. Dimitry works at the front desk, and he is another person from The Sterling that stands out for being excellent. He is the first person a resident or guest encounters upon entering the property. He is kind, caring, and professional in all his communications, and made us feel welcome. Conclusion: The Staff at The Sterling are high level professionals who really care about their positions and their relationships with the residents. I am happy my family chose The Sterling for this next chapter of my mother's life.
