I love, love these T-shirts and sweatshirts. It isn't unusual to get compliments every time I wear them. They are a little pricey but they are great quality. The staff is always friendly and helpful but I do miss their 2nd location. I'm including a screenshot of the two designs I have (I have the sweatshirt and T-shirt of the white one and the t-shirt of the green). I pulled them from their website because one of mine has a stain and I need to replace it.

What a delightful, creative, charming store! Yep, I'm heavy on the adjectives, but these kept coming to mind while I perused this space. I have loved Hazel + Hunt ever since buying their "Un Bourbon S'il Vous Plait" T-shirt at NuLu Fest a couple of years ago. How fun that now they have their own brick-and-mortar spot in the neighborhood. And that spot is not only filled with their signature shirts but also a well curated array of homegoods, personal items and more. I loved their table of infant and kids items, which included fun wall hangings for a kids room. The "You Are My Greatest Adventure" items melt my heart. I also loved their "The Office Alphabet" print, Louisville streets pillows, Louisville sweatshirts and old-school pennants. The prices were reasonable considering the high quality of the products. And while shopping, I couldn't help but appreciate the lovely interior, which included a large train clock and beautiful displays. This is a fun shopping experience. I will definitely be back!

Nitty Gritty was by far the most thoughtfully curated of the stores we went to - but also the most expensive. As we perused the men's section upstairs, we noticed that several items were well above the budget we had set in place. That being said, the quality of nearly all of the items was above average. This is a true vintage store - not one where you will find used clothes bought from Target four years ago (not that there is anything wrong with that either). After about half an hour, he settled on a pair of $30 snowboarding pants that normally sells, from what our internet search revealed, for well over $150, so even though there was some initial sticker shock, the pants were well worth it. He also procured a very vintage sweater vest for $12 which he is insistent he will pair somehow with the pants - I'm looking forward to seeing this outfit. At any rate, I highly recommend this store for the true vintage connoisseur - someone who is looking for well made, lasting pieces and is willing to pay the higher prices for quality. This store has been around for ages and now I understand why: it is a walk back into time. The staff is friendly and helpful, too, which is always a plus, and parking was not an issue, though I had worried it might be.

I went shopping a few weeks back with my 5 girls and some friends when we stopped into this shop. The building walking in will Give you big time nostalgia vibes. Lots of oldest clothing styles and vintage items to browse in this two level shop. The men's department is upstairs and the costume rental area is in the very rear. When back there be sure to look in the rafters for some old school child terrorizing animal mascot heads that are fun to check out. On our trip here my oldest found a 50s retro looking swim suit that she fell in love with. It was reasonably priced so we made the purchase. Overall a pretty cool shop that was fun to browse and brought a blast from the past feeling for me personally. Only strange thing was there was rack with an old uofl mascot hoodie my second oldest wanted but it wasn't priced yet so they simply said "not for sale".

Lotions and body products. Art. Kids goods. Food gifts. Some of the items are local, while others are not. I spied some of Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop products on the shelves, for example. If you're a fan of Schitt's Creek, White's is what I imagine Rose Apothecary to be like (unfortunately minus a David Rose, though). What typically draws me in at White's, though, are the baby goods. It's taken a lot of willpower to not buy one of the adorable "Gentleman" onesies for my son. There are also bibs, books, toys, blankets and items to decorate a very stylish nursery. If you're in need of a gift, you can likely find something here. I picked up a "Garden & Gun" book about dogs for my mother-in-law recently. White's definitely has an artisan, "Garden & Gun" vibe, with some practical items, as well as some not-so-practical, like a fashionable jar of matches that cost way more than a giant box of matches. But hey, that's kind of the fun part -- looking through everything. The prices also run the gamut. While there are definitely more expensive items, you'll likely be able to find something in your budget as well. If you're in need of a delightful shopping experience, definitely give White's a try.

My daughter scored a flattering pair of navy and red pin striped bell bottoms in sale for 50% off. There was a beautiful red beaded necklace that my friend suggested would make a great pair of earrings, so I snagged the last two and plan on converting them. I can't wait for our next visit to Louisville so we can model them together in a photo shoot!
