This Days Inn deserves 5 stars. Most other Days Inns don't even come close. The only gripe I have…read moreis my room lacked a microwave and I'm not sure why. But it did have a fridge. That being said, I knew when I walked in this hotel was not a Days Inn forever, in fact I found it had been a Holiday Inn only a couple years ago. It's so much bigger inside than what you are used to from a Days Inn. They have a restaurant which we didn't get to eat at, and they had $1 Labatt Ice there (!!) We actually stayed for free because of my Wyndham rewards, but the room would've been $57 before taxes! That's a steal. The room was clean, big, had comfy beds, & good shower water pressure. The breakfast was continental PLUS make your own waffles & HOT eggs & sausage. I didn't even know this place had a pool til I was wandering around and stumbled upon one down the hall. In a big, open atrium there was a nice eating area beside an inviting indoor pool. Usually I have swimming on my mind and this time I did not, but I went to grab my suit because the pool just needed me to jump in! At night, there was dim lighting and no one else around. I jumped in the heated pool all by myself and it was so relaxing! I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Allegheny National Forest area! Top notch!

Well, first of all, they could provide free breakfast like their website states. Had I known this, I most likely would have reserved elsewhere. Then our room had only two working electrical outlets. Due to this outlet shortage, the fridge had been unplugged, and water from the defrosting freezer was all over the floor. Also there are no USB ports of any kind for charging your electronics. Even Motel 6 (I hate them too), and the little dive The Alamo Motel in Sheridan, WY, provided a variety of USB outlets. The swivel desk chair is permanently set to leaning back that when seated, you feel like you're in a chair in a dental office: precariously leaning back, expecting the worst possible pain and discomfort! Do not stay here!

If you're looking for a weekend getaway you found the perfect spot!…read more Nestled in the Allegheny Forest you are surrounded by some of the most tranquil sights. It doesn't matter if it's the middle of summer and you can spend time on the river, enjoying a nice fall hike, or watching the snow fall, the views can't be beat. The rooms and lodge itself have been designed for the most comfort. Every little detail from the cookies in your room when you check in, to the amenities in the common areas insure that the tranquil feeling stays. If you're lucky enough to do the taste of the wilds dinner, I highly recommend doing the wine pairing with it. Everything was paired out so perfectly and it was one of the most enjoyable meals we've ever had. The sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate when sharing the information about the wine. All the staff went out of their way to ensure you had the best service.

The daily breakfast baskets were a great start to the day, especially before heading out hiking (we went looking for river otters). Coming back, jumping into the hot tub by the fireplace felt like flipping the off switch on real life. Dinner Saturday night was excellent, and the wine pairing was clearly chosen with care, not just checked off a list. And the chocolate mousse with espresso salt? That's the kind of thing you remember long after checkout.

So we flew from LAX to Buffalo, NY, which allowed us to visit Niagara Falls (stunning) and then take a quick drive south to Bradford, PA (home of Zippo lighters). The first thing one notices when entering this part of Pennsylvania is how well-kept the homes and farms are. And when you turn onto the access road to the Glendorn Lodge, you see their farm-to-table patch of a vegetable farm. Once through the gate, the drive is a couple of miles to the main lodge and check-in. The staff are so wonderful and polite, calling us by our last names, which is very formal but a nice touch! Our home, cabin, was lovely beyond description. The master bedroom was stunning, the screened-in porch was perfect for 10 to 12 people hanging out (ideal for a family reunion), and we had an outdoor fireplace/pit blazing and roasting marshmallows for the kids. The next morning, we rode bicycles that you keep at your cabin home. We went out on a small lake with paddleboards, canoes, kayaks, etc. We also played volleyball and had lunch catered and delivered to the lake - fantastic service. The next day we played tennis, swam, basketball and even shot skeet! As our time at Glendorn came to a close, we reflected on the unparalleled service and the deep sense of relaxation we experienced throughout our stay. The staff truly went above and beyond, ensuring every detail was perfect, and their personalized approach made us feel like cherished guests rather than just visitors. To cap off our trip, we took a leisurely drive back toward Buffalo, savoring the memories of Niagara Falls and our time at the resort. We left Glendorn with our spirits lifted, ready to cherish the beauty of nature and the luxury of wonderful hospitality. If you ever find yourself in the northwest corner of Pennsylvania, I highly recommend Glendorn for an unforgettable retreat. It's a hidden gem that beautifully combines nature, comfort, and top-notch service!
