    7/11/24 - HAZUKIDO

Hazukido intimately transports you to a fusion of France meets Japan. This bakery, Hazukido insists on Shokunin spirit of Japan, using only the finest ingredients to make the highest quality croissant. The Shokunin spirit is defined as an artisan who masters their profession through precision and detailed craftsmanship. It's a constant journey Shokunin represents a cultural and philosophical concept deeply ingrained in Japanese society. It's a commitment to mastery, craftsmanship and a profound connection to one's work. It's more than a job when you embody Shokunin spirit. Hazukido sets the bar on the premium ingredients and incredible detail to something as simple as a buttery croissant. The croissants are freshly baked on-site daily to ensure the croissants' crispiness and tenderness. This bakery offers gourmet croissants, seasonal croissants, chocolate ball, creamy criscuit, salted seaweed criscuit, chocolate criscuit, croissant rolls, danish toast, mountain danish loaf, garlic slices, Brûlée Mille-Feuille, fruit pies, Croissant Cubes, Croissant Sandwiches, Croffles, coffee, Sparkling Refresher Series, tea, milk tea, and strawberry series. We ordered a Pistachio Croissant, Milk Caramel, and a large Americano coffee. The croissants instantly melted in our mouths. I didn't try my hubby's pistachio croissant but he enjoyed my milk caramel far better. He loved it so much he finished it off without me knowing lol. He also stated the Americano was some of the best black coffee he's ever had.

Small bakery shop specialize in croissant, cookie and other small stuff like it. They also do bubble tea, tea and coffee. I tried the citrus sparkling bubble tea. It was very good, fresh, really tasty. We also tried the red velvet croissant, a cookie and match croissant. It was very flaky, soft and crunchy, tasted very good. You can taste that it's freshly made with fresh ingredients. Very good. The place have some small table for 2 to site and a small bar at the window to sit. It's very quiet, there's no music and good to relax. For a quick snack bite, it's very good. Push hard on the first door to open, the door do stuck on the entrance.

I waited till the hype died down before visiting this place and I'm so glad I did. Although these croissants are tasty, I would not wait an hour in line for them. I've tried a handful of flavours and I was happy with all of them. My favourites are the savoury ones. Cheese, garlic, and crab. The crab croissant has a filling too and I wasn't expecting it to taste so good. Mild in flavour, creamy, and complimentary to the toppings of the croissant. I think the chocolate ones are good too but very sweet, I can never finish one. Especially the double chocolate, that one is a sweet bomb. Definitely best to share or with a coffee to cut into the sweetness. I like that they have specialty croissants too from time to time. I went yesterday and they had a special crispy milk chicken croissant with eyes and a nose! It wasn't too sweet. I really enjoyed that one. It did have a filling but I'm not sure what it was. Make sure to show up earliest as that is when the croissants are the most fresh. By end of day they usually have less selection and they aren't as fresh. They'll still be delicious though. But especially if you want a specific flavour I recommend visiting early. I've also gotten the Yashima brown sugar boba and it was meh. The bubbles were burnt and the liquid was bland. But it was free so I can't complain (the app gives you a free drink up to $5 when you sign up. They are expensive so this is definitely a treat for once in a while. Sign up for their reward program and also if you buy 6 there is no taxes!

There has been so much hype about this place that I haven't gotten the chance to try it till now. Walking around Ste. Cathy's we saw we were right in front of the shop. We decided to pop in and see what flavours they would have available. Because this place is so popular and we knew the selection would not be great at 4pm. We decided to try the white chocolate, the caramel filled and a savoury garlic bread croissant to try. The croissants were a decent size and tasted alright. We definitely felt that this is the type of place you need to get to in the morning when everything is baked fresh and you have your pick of options. The ones we choose weren't bad but for the price point of 3 croissant for almost 20$ we definitely thought there would be something extra special about them. I'd definitely come back and try some of the other flavours before making my mind up fully.

Kind of upset that when we swung by, almost everything was sold out already. But they had a promotion where if you bought 5, you get 1 free. We ordered: Truffle crab croissant ($5.49) Butter garlic croissant ($4.95) Lemon crème glazed croissant ($4.95) Smoked cheese chicken sliced croissant ($5.49) White chocolate croffle ($4.95) The truffle crab just tasted like a crab stick in-between a croissant with mayo. I wasn't sure how to feel about it. The butter garlic tastes exactly what you expect it to: garlic bread! The lemon creme was a zesty sweet croissant. It was good but definitely not a flavor I'm used to on a croissant. It felt like I was eating candy on bread. The smoked cheese chicken was kind of hard and there wasn't much flavor to the cheese or chicken, pass on that. The white chocolate croffle was also kind of basic. It tasted like a thin waffle dipped in chocolate. Sadly, I wasn't too wowed by this place. Maybe it's because the selection was kind of limited and all the amazing flavors were sold out. It definitely isn't bad and I enjoyed it but it just wasn't extraordinary. Wouldn't mind coming back again to try more flavors though.

These croissants are to die for! The quality, freshness, and aesthetic is unbeatable. The price is really good for what you are getting. I chose the honey citrus, strawberry chocolate cube, and smoked cheese chicken. I'm normally not a croissant person but this I am a total fan of. If you have not try - YOU MUST. Everything here looked so good it was so hard to limit myself. The service is quick and there's some number of seating's to enjoy your pastries before you take off for your day.

Delicious croissant and milk tea. The crab cream is smokey and very flavorful. The butter garlic tastes great but is a bit salty. The chicken and cheese is pretty good. The sweet croissants are delicious and not too sweet.

Alright, I had been looking forward to try this place since its opening. Hazukido is chain and it is its only store in Quebec, so Saturday was the day. Normally bakeries opens early morning, not this one. So no need to show up too early BUT you can only be 3 inside, so expect a line outside. Also if you order drinks, it will take a while like a good 5 minutes after you order to get your drink (which I still recommend getting). The store is nice, I liked the look of everything but they do garlic croissants and when you get in the store you are hit with a VERY strong smell of garlic, in fact, you can even smell it outside so dont expect to smell sweet pastries when you get there. All you'll smell is garlic so if you cant stand the garlic smell: this is not the place to go. The croissant are very good. Not the soft type of croissants but the crispy type. Buttery. Flaky. I have particularly appreciated the strawberry one and the raspberry one. The chocolate covered ones are very good too. I have also tried the ''egg'' one. I say ''egg'' cuz until today I still have no idea what it was. I think they might call it egg because of the look? Like it looks like an egg yolks inside a croissant but it's a sweet yellow cream which is I have no idea what it was but dont go there expecting your typical ''egg croissant'' for breakfast. Having said that, it was an interesting taste. I did not disliked it. It just wasnt what I expected. Croissants priced from 4$ to $5 which is way to pricey for a croissant if you ask me. Their drinks are very good. The presentation of everything is perfect. To me $35 for 6 croissants and a coffee is on the overpriced side of things and the strong smell of garlic has also negatively impacted the overall general experience for me. I recommend trying, I'm glad I did but because of their prices I wont become a regular.

It can get busy and the lines form out the door, but the pastries and coffee are worth it. We ordered the chocolate and pistachio filled croissants and donuts. I would rate both chocolate and pistachio filled croissants a 9/10 and the donut versions of each a 7/10. I felt the croissants tasted better and had more filling. We ordered the Remix which is authentic freddo expresso, cafe crema soft serve and topped off with hot frothed milk and chocolate. This was a 10/10 and was every bit of amazing as it looks in the picture. Service was fast and friendly. One note, they don't have flavored coffees, so I couldn't order a caramel latte, for example. Overall, great coffee shop that we enjoyed every day during our stay.

We ordered a hot chocolate, cappuccino, tiramisu, and an affogato, and every single item exceeded expectations. The hot chocolate was rich, smooth, and indulgent without being overly sweet -- pure comfort in a cup. The cappuccino was perfectly brewed with bold espresso flavor and beautifully textured milk, exactly how a great Italian-style coffee should be. The highlight of our visit, without question, was the affogato. It was hands down the best I've ever had. The pistachio gelato was unbelievably creamy, nutty, and flavorful, and when paired with the hot espresso, it created an unforgettable balance of temperature and taste. It was truly out of this world and worth the visit on its own. To finish, the tiramisu was light, perfectly layered, and not overpowering -- a flawless end to an already incredible experience. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and authentic. Café Olimpico isn't just a café -- it's an experience. Exceptional quality, consistency, and passion in every cup and dessert. Highly recommended, and absolutely a place we'll keep coming back to.
