While the website inventory listing is very impressive, I was "blown away" when I arrived at the business. The inventory is expansive and exceptional- the Carrera selection is impressive! The sales team was knowledgeable, honest, and straightforward. The same can be said for the service/transport/detailing teams. The lines of communication and follow up are excellent. After several discussions w the owner he explained his current and future vision of his business, coupled with my dealings with his team, validated my decision to do business w HBI. Additionally, HBI will pick up and service my car. I am extremely happy that I purchased my 991.1 C4S from HBI Auto. You would be remiss if you do not consider HBI Auto when considering to purchase a Porsche or other exotic car. Jan 15, 2026 ...16 Months and 20,000 miles later, combined with my 991.1 C4S service obsession ( (2) oil changes, 60 K Full Service, (2) alignments, Expel Protection), allows me to comment on HBI experiences from multiple perspectives i.e. Sales, Service, Detailing, Transportation. I reside 150 miles from HBI yet they treat me like a local customer. It's comforting to know that if the car should "lay down" HBI is on the way; it's happened to me ! They pick up and return without charge. What Porsche dealer does these things? My initial purchase review of HBI stated " you would be remiss if you don't consider HBI ". I purchased a Ferrari 488 from HBI Auto and had the vehicle shipped to me out of state. After delivery, I noticed that the mileage on the car was higher than the mileage listed in the odometer disclosure provided during the transaction. The disclosure stated 23,937 miles, while the vehicle arrived showing 26,378 miles. I contacted the dealership to discuss the discrepancy but we have not been able to resolve the issue so far. Because of this, I submitted complaints with the appropriate regulatory agencies for review. I recommend that buyers carefully confirm vehicle details, especially when purchasing remotely. read more

I had my Porsche GT4 RS transported to HBI for service, and it came back with scratches on the factory magnesium wheels where the transport straps were placed. I have reached out to HBI, sent photos, and gave them every chance to respond. The only response I got was that it would be shown to management, and then I heard nothing for a week. For a shop that works on high-end cars this level of service is reprehensible. The car also came back with dirt tracked onto the floor mat from their gravel lot. and mud/gravel around the wheel wells. The wheel marks are the main issue. They are not massive gouges, but they are on magnesium wheels which are very susceptible to corrosion. Between the damage and the complete lack of communication afterward, I would never trust HBI with any service or sale. They are walking the tightrope of an actual business and scam very carelessly. read more

I want to share my recent experience with HBI. While I had a great conversation with Niko, an excellent sales guy, my overall encounter was disappointing. As the end of the month approached, I was drawn to a dealership that appeared to have great reviews and a fantastic selection of cars. However, I felt pressured to sign a contract and pay a deposit to secure a vehicle. They informed me they couldn't secure a loan for me because "I have almost 400k in auto loans." Fortunately, my credit union promptly handled the financing, and they were set to mail a check after the weekend. The same day I left my deposit, I received a call stating that the dealership sold the car to someone else, claiming I took too long to finalize my deposit. I was waiting to secure financing before I paid any "non-refundable" money. Wouldn't you do the same? To make matters worse, the CEO contacted me, insisting that I took too long to place my deposit and then claimed the deposit would hold the car for 48 hours--which it clearly did not. He further threatened me by stating he wasn't obligated to refund my deposit and pressured me to remove my negative reviews, citing a clause in their contract that allegedly prohibited me from doing so. This clause is not only unprofessional, but it is also illegal under The Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA). He gave me just 24 hours to remove all reviews, using my deposit as leverage against me and their questionable sales contract. I paid HBI Auto in Mocksville, N.C. $3,202.50 to add XPEL Paint Protection Film and ceramic coating to my brand new car. The film tech tried three times and delivered a car each time with bubbles and blemishes. After the third attempt, I told him to just remove the film and refund my money. The co-owner called and told me he would wrap the car himself and deliver a "perfect" car. When we arrived to pick up the car that should have been wrapped over the previous 2.5 days, we found the same tech working on it. The co-owner refused to remove the film and refused to return our money. We took possession of the car and found the same blemishes and bubbles as were there the first three times. These people are crooks. Stay away! They advertise low prices and then tell you they'll only sell you the car for $5K more due to upsells they insist you take. Then when you negotiate with them they keep moving the ball regarding what's in and what's out of the deal. They took WEEKS to prep the car and communication sucked. In the end, they did not do all the work we thought we were getting. My fault, I trusted the sales rep. Their finance guy had the balls to call and complain that we hadn't paid for the car in advance. When I picked up the car, they conveniently "forgot" the $1000 deposit that I had placed on the car until I reminded them. Despite my telling them that one of the key fobs didn't work when we road-tested the car and being told they'd fix it, they delivered it to me with only one functioning fob. Despite referring to themselves as a substitute to a Porsche dealership, they could not program the key. So now I'm left with a minimum $250 charge at the dealership. Apparently, they've had trouble before because when I called to complain, they offered to play back the tape they had made of our discussions with them to prove I was wrong. This review is only based on my experience after walking around their lot that is filled with exotic cars but no interaction with the staff here. The lot is filled with used cars, some my be waiting to be serviced, body work, detailing, modifications while other are apparently for sale. I was a little surprised that this level of business exist in Mocksville only because it's a niche business and being it was my first visit to this small town and I don't know the demographics. I do know that fast cars and racing is an inherent part of the culture in this region of the country e.g. NASCAR has a roots in North Carolina so I'm sure there are influences that makes this a successful business. So if you like cars like Porsche, Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, Corvettes, Acura, Audi, BMW, Bentley, Land Rover, Lexus, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz and Lamborghini and more this place probably will interest you. I wasn't shopping, just looking since I was doing business in the area and this business was within walking distance. NOT ADVERTISED PRICE ON WEBSITE!! My fiancé and I drove an hour from Charlotte on a Friday afternoon to come look at a Porsche Cayman. We were very excited and liked the car, so we took it for a test drive. As we were inspecting the car before the test drive, we let the sales person know that we do all of our own ceramic coating work as we are certified as well as PPF a friend in Charlotte does for us. They told us they were running the numbers for us, after two hours, we sat down with one of the owners to go over the numbers. To our shock there was $6,000 of "non negotiable extras". Including ceramic coating and PPF work that we had already let the sales person know we would be doing ourselves, and it was never disclosed to us that it had to be done by them no exceptions. We have purchased many luxury vehicles from other dealerships and were stunned by this business practice!! I would definitely take your business elsewhere read more

I BOUGHT THE CAR BUT THEY KEPT MY $2000 DEPOSIT !! I had an extremely disappointing experience with HBi Auto. I placed a $2,000 deposit to hold the vehicle, which should have gone toward my purchase, but it was never credited at signing. (They said the deposit would be refunded directly to my bank account) Despite multiple attempts, it has been 7 weeks and I have yet to receive my refund. THEY HAVE STOLEN MY $2000! They gave excuses and delay tactics-banking issues,a merger with another company,waiting on hearing back from corporate (They have one location!)...now they just don't respond. Additionally, as part of the deal, they agreed to a full paint correction and ceramic coating in exchange for financing through them. They kept my car for two weeks after I left the deposit, yet when I drove 2.5 hours to finalize the purchase, the work had not been done. At that point, I had little choice but to complete the deal, but their failure to uphold their promises was incredibly frustrating. I will give them a little credit- about a month later they came and picked up the car to do the paint correction/ceramic coating and replace the obviously flawed PPF on the hood that was also not done satisfactorily before the purchase. However,I was without the car for over a week while this was being done. Another strange and crooked detail- they dated my financing agreement the day after I gave them the deposit and with that date on the paperwork, I was charged interest even though they did not have the car ready for me to pick up until two weeks later. After a lengthy dispute with Derek the finance manager, in which he was flippant and dismissive of my complaint, I gave up on pushing that because I really just wanted my deposit back and didn't want to give them any reason to further delay that. It has been about seven weeks since I purchased the vehicle, and have not received any refund of my deposit, I don't believe I will without a fight. In fact, I believe they are STEALING MY $2000 DEPOSIT!! My salesman Gaige is no longer with the company. The "after-sales" person is no longer with the company. Neither Derek or Billy ( the owner) will respond to my request. This dealership does not follow through on its commitments, and their lack of accountability is unacceptable. I purchased a vehicle from HBI Auto and the experience was great. Niko did what I asked and was right up front with the pricing and the process. My wife and I flew to North Carolina and picked up the car and drove home. I drove the car for about 5 months and sold it because that's what I do. After selling the car I started calling HBI Auto for a refund of the pro rated portion of my extended warrantee and they will not return my call. I have been calling for 6 weeks and leaving messages and they won't call me back. Since you can't buy a car from HBI Auto without buying their protection film and extended warrantees I would tell anyone reading this to not just take my word for it but read the other reviews and take them as gospel. This is a crooked business who is not at all honoring the refund on the warrantee I was promised. Buyer beware. Buy a Porsche elsewhere. This place is a headache waiting to happen. Find another dealership. I had to take them to court to get services that I paid for listed on a signed we owe you document that was also listed on the purchase agreement. They claimed that the items on the we owe you documents were done before I purchased the vehicle. If you're going to do business with them I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere or be prepared to deal with litigation and lies. They actually went beyond expectations by sending us a video of the vehicle we were looking at which was BMW M40i for our daughter. My wife and I drove the 1.5 hours from Waxhaw NC on 12/6/2024 and met with Niko. He was very courteous, knowledgeable and was not rushing us into anything. Having test drove and further conversations we purchased the vehicle and our daughter absolute elated. I when there all the way from california to by a Ferrari California T ,they told me the car as no issue ,got funding from a credit union before even getting the deposit from me )but once I got there the gear box was completely messed up ,I refused to give them the 50k deposit check since the ferrari was not functional! I called several time to let them know that they must pay for repairs before paying them,they send me a video on YouTube to show that the ferrari was fixed 1 week after a went there but guess what happen about five day after I got the car ;gear box was bad again and even tho I got a 2 year warranty for engine and major components repairs and guess what happen :they denied it telling Ferrari Beverly Hills that it was a pre existing issue that was there before I brought the Ferrari California T! Contacted them again and they refused to pay the $5500 bill from ferrari.therefore I had to pay for it! It's been more than 2 mounth that I got the ferrari now with expired tags ,they never gave me my registration or renew those expired tags !i can't drive it without getting ticket from DOT or the police . Those guys from the owner ,to the salesman are definitely not trust worthy ,they are lying and definitely not taking accountability for there actions and repeated mistakes ! I found HBI Auto on CarGurus while trying to buy my dream car. They were super awesome and very informative. I had a million questions especially as an out of state buyer and Billy was so kind!! I had some troubles with the bank and ended up not purchasing, no fault of the dealer at all!! My family just decided they didn't want me to move fwd with the lender. I absolutely recommend staying away from this dealer. I read some of the other negative reviews but decided to give them a chance. I reached out about a vehicle I was interested in and scheduled a virtual tour of the car. During the virtual tour I was told the vehicle was previously sold by the dealer and the purchaser opted to have complete paint correction and full PPF installed by the dealer. However, that individual decided to trade the vehicle back in for another car fairly quickly. None of this seemed odd to me as I have purchased many vehicles both with and without PPF installed. I told the SA that I would like to proceed with finalizing the deal and that's where things fell apart. The Sales Manager sent me a purchase agreement that included 3698.00 in add-ons for PPF and paint services. The sales manager was clearly unaware that I was told there was a previous owner who had already paid for these services. Once I asked about it, I was told if I didn't want the PPF I would need to pay labor to have it removed. I was honestly shocked. At this point, I let him know that I was aware that the previous owner already paid for these services and that I was quite frustrated with their attempt to make me pay a second time for something that was already done. The funny thing is that I actually would have paid more for the vehicle but I found this "tactic" to just be shady and unethical. It was at this point that I decided that I was no longer interested in purchasing a vehicle from this dealer. Once informed of my intentions to pass on the car, I was told they would remove the add-on price from the purchase agreement. But if the dealer will be deceptive about something like this, then it only leads me to believe that they will do more of the same should a much larger issue arise as they often do. However, I continued to receive communication from the SA, sales manager, and eventually the owner. All offering conflicting reasons for why they attempted to charge me but not a single one admitted that it was simply an attempt to make a little more money on the deal. Quite frankly, I likely still would have passed but I wouldn't have left this review if they would have just been honest and offered a sincere apology. It should also be noted that their purchase agreement includes a non disparagement clause which is another unique move by this dealer to attempt to limit negative feedback. read more

I purchased a boxster online from HBi in November after being sent pictures and videos by Gaige detailing everything that had been done to the car since HBi purchased it and any areas of damage to the bodywork. He was friendly and answered any questions and was very communicative. I was assured there was no rust on the vehicle, and that everything was in working order and "turn-key"; no maintenance or repairs were needed as HBi had taken care of everything prior to the sale. I negotiated with Gaige and Billy on a final price which included a second key as the car only had one. I placed a deposit under a separate contract which stipulated that the deposit would be refunded once the deal was completed and balance settled. A purchase contract was drawn up which detailed this second key and the funds for the car were sent prior to Thanksgiving in 2024. I received the car a week later, with the shipper noting additional areas of damage to the exterior of the vehicle which included the passenger tail light lens being broken, bulbs non-functional, and the soft top gasket being mis-aligned. I inspected the interior of the car and found that the PCM / radio was also malfunctioning. Upon finding these issues I immediately reached back out to Gaige who said he would do some research and get back to me. His response was that "sometimes things happen during shipping" with regards to the tail light, and that the PCM was replaced prior to the car leaving their lot. I informed him that the shipper had documented the tail light damage prior to departure so the damage had been present on their lot. He and Billy responded a few days later that the tail light damage had "been documented and sent to you" and was apparently visible in the photos (it wasn't, and I have the photos to prove it). They refused to come to a solution regarding a fix on the tail light. They looked into the malfunctioning radio and a new person named Derek who was apparently the finance manager reached out to me in December suggesting that they could maybe help with fixing the radio if I bought an extended warranty, but there was nothing they could do if I did not. Derek was very condescending and rude on the phone and stated that "nobody uses a radio anymore, that's probably why we missed it", confirming that they had indeed lied about replacing the PCM / radio. Meanwhile, I had been in constant communication with Gaige regarding the second key as the car showed up with just the original single key and I had heard nothing significant back from him, only the occasional "I'll look into it". When Derek reached out in December he informed me that they would not be honoring the second key as the 30 day time limit on the contract provision had expired. The contract stipulated that I must "make advance notice" for the key and I have texts and call records to show that I had been attempting to communicate with Gaige for that entire month. Derek did say that the deposit was set to be refunded and would be sent within the next 5-10 business days. Keep in mind, the deposit I paid had not been pro-rated in the final payment as it was in a separate contract. I spoke with Derek this week and he stated that the deposit should have been refunded back in January, about 5-10 business days after we had spoken in December. A full month had passed since he said it should have been refunded and they have refused to provide evidence that it has actually been sent. There is nothing in my bank account or on my cards that show a refund in the amount of the deposit or from HBi. It appears that HBi will attempt to get out of anything and everything they can in the contract in the hopes that you will resort to paying court costs and legal fees to recover anything that was agreed upon. As of this writing, the deposit has not been refunded, I have not heard anything from Billy or Derek regarding proof of the refund, and Gaige has left the company. They refuse to return my calls and texts in what I assume is the hope that I will just go away. I hope this review encourages them to reach out to me and resolve this, otherwise the next step is beginning the legal process. Do not do business with this dishonest company, read some more reviews and understand just what they will do once you give them your money. read more

Excellent experiences with Billy and the whole crew. Bought a 2015 Ferrari California T with 5000 miles at, an excellent price. A month later, the rear view mirror developed a death rattle. This was probably the result of letting friends drive the car (without my being in the vehicle). They likely wrestled the mirror into submission, loosening the ball joint. HBI fixed it on the spot- at no charge. Very happy with the purchase transaction, the repair and with the car. Also, the detail department did a phenomenal PPF job on my 2020 Aston Martin Vantage. When the warranty on that car expires, HBI will be my first stop for service/repairs. Nothing against Foreign Cars Charlotte. I just hate driving down there. I have also had HBI sell a Toyota for me on consignment. I'm so pleased with the relationship that has developed with them, I'm leaving those proceeds on deposit while we look for the next purchase! read more

From start to end, they are extremely easy to work with and honest. I ask a question about exhaust and as luck would have it he had one in the shop getting ready to be installed and took me back and showed me everything and gave me a tip on how to save some money so when I'm ready for this next project I will definitely be going to HBI auto again. Took my 2020 Corvette in for ceramic coating. I would not recommend this detail shop to anyone!!! Don't let their repair facility doing hi-end vehicles fool you. The detail shop is terrible. I got my car back with polish in places that shouldn't have been. They didn't clean anything other than the outside but honestly, the car was dirty when I got it back. They claimed it could have happened driving it for testing as I did have a lowering kit installed while it was there. However, you'd think for the price paid it would have been clean. Had to use a car duster on the car just to verify it was cleaned. After dusting it and doing a full inspection I saw several areas where white polish was still left on the car. If you know how ceramic coating is done you'd know that you cannot coat a surface if there is still polish on the car. Polish was all over the car, black rubber surfaces that never should have polish along with door jam hinges and black trim pieces. They obviously didn't tape the car before doing their detailing. After going back and forth through txt with detail "manager" and service writer I was asked to bring it back in to fix the issues. After scheduling that to be done and driving over and my day off I was told by Zach, the "manager" he was covered up and couldn't do it that day. Tried to schedule another day for them to pick it up but was advised by my service writer to wait until he spoke with owner. Never heard back from anyone after that. Tried to stop payment through credit card but because it was a service that was done, I couldn't stop it due to being unhappy with the service. They did coat it...ONE COAT...didn't even do door sills. Sealed bugs on the side mirrors and had two water spots sealed on the top. Paint correction shouldn't have been hard as it only had a bit over 8000 miles on it and has never been dried with anything but a car drying blower. Took plenty of pictures for your viewing...PLEASE FIND ANOTHER DETAIL COMPANY THAT KNOWS HOW TO DETAIL. This place gives detailing business a BAD NAME!!! Either learn the right way to detail or stick to what you're good at, fixing cars. Detail shop is worthless and gives the entire business a bad name. Due to these issues they will never see one of my cars again for detail or repair. I guess corvettes aren't important enough for them. Had to pay again to get their coating off, and redo the car correctly. read more

BEWARE of purchasing a vehicle from this company due to unethical business practices for lies and misrepresentation. They're attempting to keep my $1000 dollar deposit due to their negligence. So in good faith I committed to purchasing a vehicle based on their description of the vehicle including the advertised mileage on the vehicle. However when I received the over night package / paper work I was surprised to find out that the car has almost 600 miles more than advertised, that's the "misrepresentation". As far as the "lies" go they stated that the additional miles were due to test drives. Really? A normal test ride is less than 10 miles besides they didn't even have the keys for the car. They stated that the keys were misplaced and that new keys were being shipped from the UK with no ETA available. Weird how you can put almost 600 miles on a car without having the keys. Then I find out the truth from one of the sales people that some of them have taken the car home over night and have attended car "meets", events, etc.. That's fine but then update the mileage! Then when I speak with Jose about the issue and refunding my deposit he states that the deposit aren't refundable because the car was "removed" from the internet, etc. for sale which is a blatant lie! The car was never removed and I have multiple screen shots of the for sale on several websites including HBi's website still for sale. Then Jose has the audacity to threaten "legal action" against me because I stated that I was going to write reviews on my experience with this company. So they misrepresented the actual mileage on the vehicle which is their negligence, lied about removing the listing after taking my deposit in order to keep my deposit. And then lied about how the vehicle gained the additional mileage by stating "test" drives when in fact it was joy riding and I'm sure beating on the car while doing so. BUYER BEWARE! read more

I had some credit issues due to my son being diagnosed with Epilepsy. I told them this and was told that they could get me a loan. After a few days they couldn't find a loan for me. I asked for my deposit back since I was told that it was refundable if they couldn't obtain financing. Now I write emails to the sales guy that I was dealing with and also their contact us page and I don't get a response. No refund. Beware of HBI - they are now reputable. I still have yet to purchase a vehicle. That $500 would've helped my family's situation, but instead, it went into the pocket of someone that spends their time driving Porsches and Ferraris. read more

*** BUYER BEWARE **** I made a deal with this dealer on a Porsche Cayman GTS and AFTER I gave a deposit and signed a buyers order, they then changed all kinds of aspects of the deal and most importantly they then decided to disclose that they did not have the books and extra key. I simply asked for them to supply compensation to cover the exact cost of the replacement key at my local dealer (I live in another state) and they completely refused. I said no problem just cancel the deal and they also refused and said they have no intention of refunding my $2,500 deposit. Every thing was perfect, until I send the car to the dealer to extend the warranty, oil leak transmission, the exhaust system was modify, I was never informed about this, so no warranty extended, over $30k in repairs, now no one at HBI auto answers my calls, what a poor unprofessional and unethical way to handle the business and responsibilities. and Brian told me they are not responsible any more after 2 weeks I bought the Mclaren. If ZERO was an option here, it would immediately be just that. I came across this business after seeing some of the high ratings. While waiting in the waiting area I over heard shouting from another room. Clearly what was just an argument turned into something worse. I overheard the owner Billy call someone a derogatory name that I will not spell out. Anyone of color would truly be offended and appalled by this behavior. Not only will I NOT be doing any business here. But I truly urge anyone to use caution with this company as clearly there are some underlying racial issues. read more

I took my car to have tires installed. I purchased the tires from HBi and they were nearly $50 more than my quote. The additional charge was for shipping from the tire dustributor that they passed on to me. I didn't learn this until after installation, so I was stuck with paying. Upon getting my car back, I see that one of the alloy wheels was deeply gouged; not a blemish, but a permanent scar. I won't go back; they were deceitful and handled my car with the finesse of a raging bull. Never again, boys. read more

HBi Auto - I had one of the best experiences I have had at a service facility EVER! The shop can work on and fix everything from the ordinary daily driver to the most fire-breathing street car you can imagine. I have struggled with finding a reputable shop that was detailed oriented and as meticulous as I am about my car. I thought I had OCD - Billy and Troy labored over my car until 9PM and I was a first time customer. I have never seen as much attention to detail for some of the smallest things - this speaks volumes about the shop and one of its owners Billy. My vehicle can be tedious and a lot of shops will not work on my daily driven exotic - not only were Billy Troy able to and willing to work on it but when I left the shop I had not felt my car pull this hard or have as much power in a very long time. My hats off to HBi Auto and I would highly recommend them to anyone that is in need of service from the most basic oil change, engine rebuilds to the most power hungry enthusiasts tricks. Since it will not let me respond to William's fictitious post to me I'm going to leave another review. I was not aware that I needed to install the motor immediately to find out that you sold me a bad motor. I was under the impression through emails that the motor was in perfect shape so I put the project on the back burner and waited not being aware that you had sold me a bad motor. So I don't understand why the few months that I waited is an issue when I sent you the pictures of the motor it was still on the palette you had sold it to me with. I found the problem without even having to take the motor off the pallet. You never offered to have me send the motor back to you. You emailed me back when I sent you video and pictures of what was wrong with the motor and then just stopped responding to me hoping that I would let the time run out to file the dispute. I filed the claim with PayPal and they told me to go ahead and send the motor back because they ruled in my favor you threatened me with a lawsuit and told me that you had multiple attorneys already ready to dispute it and you would sue me in a heartbeat. you also said to me that you have dealt with problems like this before so you knew exactly how to handle it with your attorney which kind of made me think, "this guy has had to do this before. What kind of motors are he selling that he's ready for these kind of actions?". I can post the email if you'd like to. The reason I did not send it back was because I had to pay for the shipping which was out of my pocket. So I would have only got back half of what I paid you for the bad motor because I would have lost the other half in shipping and it was easier for me to tear the engine apart and sell it in parts to get my money back then it was to lose half to send you the motor back that you would have done the same thing I did and made out twice. You are a shady business owner. instead of doing the correct thing you threatened me, ignored my emails to you. So please do not go on here and act like you were this very understanding and that you were trying to do the right thing when you legitimately did not. When you found out that PayPal ruled in my favor you immediately threatened me through personal messages and emails with attorney's. Good luck with your shady business and I see that there have been more reviews of one star so that just proves my case. read more
