If I could rate less I would. This is the same feedback I sent to HCS after they asked for feedback about my experience and then never replied. I'm going to end up spending way more money fixing their "repairs" than I paid them to fix my car. I contacted HCS asking if I could drop a 1991 van off to be looked over to see what it would need to be "roadtrip ready" as I planned on taking it on a cross country trip. After my van was dropped off the next communication I had was that there were some parts on the steering Column that needed to be replaced. I assumed that since the only issue brought up was the steering column and what I paid to fix that the van would be okay to drive. Upon picking it up nothing was said to me other than "the van is ready to go" and I drove it to the gas station to find that a large hole had been drilled in the gas tank. I don't know how HCS charged me to fill up my tank and never mentioned that it does not hold gas. Nothing was listed on the "complimentary inspection" which I know now is because there is no way it was performed. The complimentary inspection was on the receipt so I assumed that it had been done but it was not. Before dropping the van off it had functioning turn signals and a functioning gas gauge and now it does not. All of the old parts that HCS replaced are sittingspread around my van and not disposed off. Also, the steering column wasn't even fully reassembled upon picking the van back up. There are 2 large plastic pieces that were not put back on leaving wiring exposed. The leftover bags, boxes, and sticky notes from new parts were also left strewn about my van for me to pick up. I didn't figure that it is normal protocol to leave trash in customers vehicles but maybe I am wrong. For the service side of things I am also quite displeased. Every deadline I was promised was missed and this was not communicated with me. I had to call HCS to see where things were each time days after we passed the date it was promised to be done by. My biggest gripe is that since the ignition cylinder was replaced the new keys do not fit the locks on the doors. I cannot lock or unlock the van now. When I called to ask about the keys no one could tell me if the old keys are still around or not and I was told that I would receive a call back. To no surprise I did not hear back. All said I am clearly disappointed with this as I feel like the quality care that I have seen taken on other vehicles was not spent on mine. I know its an old van but to have it not fully re-assembled, parts not working that were working before it was dropped off, and having trash left in my vehicle, is really just a huge letdown. read more

We took our car in for an AC repair. We've spent $4000 so far and still don't have a working AC. Our car is in worse shape than before we took it to HCS. Problem after problem happening after their initial "repair". Don't use this shop. read more

After finding another mechanic. We do believe everything was extensive to repair. But, proper customer service would have been trying to get to a middle ground of "hey we can fix this now" and come back for other fixes later. Appreciate your reply. read more

Found a van just like I wanted, online, 1532 miles away in Springdale AR, two months ago. 133k miles on it. I *really* needed a partner in this situation, for this big purchase. !! HCS was stunning: did an extraordinary inspection of the car producing a very detailed report with notes and photos. Then, Jeremy spoke with me about the details, letting me evaluate the van for purchase via all his auto knowledge and wisdom. He took it into the extra details I needed for buying it unseen (like 1 seatbelt will need to be replaced, the bumper has been repainted - even though carfax didn't list an accident). Also, Sheila gave me her opinion on the look and feel of the van. Both were sooo helpful and appreciated!!!! I've got an adopted child on the way! I've now driven it 2200 miles and just had it serviced by my long time local mechanic - nothing missed by HCS. The cherry on top: after it arrived, I went reaching with a mirror to find the loose motor mount nut they'd photographed. Nervous to drive it and damage that engine and transmission that should be able to go 400k. I nearly cried ... of course the HCS Tech retorqued that nut. I own a small landscaping company and my water pump went out On my truck. I was referred to go to HCS by the towing company. i had my truck towed from Fayetteville to Springdale To HCS. The manager called me and said it needed a radiator, some hoses and water pump all replaced and charged me $2700! I had just replaced the radiator not to long before and was shocked at price the manager gave me. I know several mechanics and they all told me I was being ripped off! But couldn't afford to have it towed to another shop or have to wait even longer for my truck to be fixed Because my sons and i needed it for work desperately! Being overcharged for their services was bad enough but having to take my truck back not once but 3 more times because they didn't put things back together right! And the third time i pointed out to manager that it was missing bolts around the shroud! He said he would order them and call me back! But he has never even returned not one of my MANY CALLS! My truck is now damaged over what they did! The Shroud missing bolts caused my fan motor blades ro break off! It sounds like a het engine taking off! And my truck now leaks oil when it never did before I had them work on it! I have called countless times and receptionist tells me manager isn't available but they will have him call me back but never has! I drive there hoping to reach him but he was not there So i have been told! I have been told by several mechanics that know my truck and said these damages were caused by them! I have been going to Doug and the team at HCS since I moved to Arkansas in 2014, and it has been the best auto-repair experience I have ever had. I have had them change my brakes, oil leaks, shocks, tires, and a host of other repairs that in the past have costed me $100s more with other body shops. But not with HCS. They are fair in the pricing. They let me know what they recommend and if I want to proceed (I love that I am in charge of my car!). When they make a mistake (which they have -- they are human, after all), they have fixed it on their own cost. I cannot recommend this auto repair shop more highly. Friendly. Honest. Helpful. Why you have lost me as a customer: 1) was told diagnostics would be $160 if ink diagnosed, if I had it repaired their it would be offset in the price of repairs... My ubderstanding either the $160 would be charged than deduct from cost of repair or not charged at all for. REALITY: was charged an IN ADDITION TO REPAIRS- line item that reads "labor for "diagnose engine overheating" I'm fairly certain diagnose is a shortened version of diagnostics . 2.) Line in item parts - (2). Coolant- no surprise there however how on earth can I buy coolant for 8$ in a retail setting , but you as a mechanic either are completely overcharging me or are being to totaled shafted- I find it absolutely ridiculous for you to charge $17 dollars per! 3) parts item- shop supplies for an additional $29.63. Hmm... I was charged well above retail for all items : radiator, overflow tank , antifreeze , air bleed valve- never offered to use salvage parts or given any options but- and also some mysterious shop parts? Like what the paper towels? A nut? Come on!!! 4) so let's see I was charged Parts 450.71 Labor 425.60 Total with tax=$961.75 for a 2002 Dodge Intrepid- that probably more than its value. 5) they DAY AFTER my vehicle was paid and was picked up we received a random flier in mail where we could save $100 on repairs over $750 at HCS- I called about them possibly honoring the coupon mind you the day after, and it wasn't so much the refusal of refunded $100 of my inflated repair as being told "nothing can be done as the transaction is complete the money has already gone to the bank" I still am unsure how that effects receiving the discount most stores albeit retail will give a customer the savings if an item goes on sale soon after they purchase. It was an HCS coupon so very similar in my eyes. I was trying to be reasonable about it, I asked perhaps you could give us a credit on the books for our next repair, that was denied As well. 6) lastly, my car is running extremely poorly, granted its not currently overheating per se (i.e. Coolant boiling/ smoke) however it now is hesitating extremely when accelerating (especially when first starting up) and upon any moderate trip (say 10-20 miles or 15-20 runtime) you can smell the oil I don't burning? That same flier claims 100% customer satisfaction- I am at least 75% not satisfied. BUT I am quite sure if I was to bring back with the complaints of how it is running I would be told it's a completely unrelated problem but would love to overcharge to fix it! (Hmm I am pretty sure a complete diagnostic would completely diagnose all problems- Ahh remember the complete diagnostic that should of been free with repairs being done was reworded and charged for, less for more?!?) And that same flier claims- no surprises , all work approved , hmm not exactly . Yes there were several phone calls each with an addition to the previous stated price and that # was approved as I had previous dealings with HCS , with Doug, he was always straightforward , never bilked so I had no reason to think I was being charged any more than had to be. However the person, apologies for forgetting his name, who I was conversing with this go round did NOT make clear I was paying above retail , nor did I receive any sort of written/ itemized Estimate, and as mentioned before was wrongfully charged the $80 for labor of diagnose and minimally 29.83 for the mysterious shop parts. (Although would love to see the markup on the parts and proof that this were not salvaged or used parts) All in all- was overcharged at best. $109.83 of items/ labor (plus tax) that shouldn't have been on my invoice And shafted on the coupon for an additional $100 Also feel I was charged an unethical markup on parts and possible overbilled on labor (hard to tell as invoice doesn't include hours on labor just random prices for each item replaced. I'm extremely disappointed as I thought I had found a new repair home but am now once again in search of a ethical and respectful and geez mostly reasonable locale. read more

I know it's hard to find an honest mechanic these days but they are a really great group of guys up there. I've had my timing belt replaced and it was 1/2 the price that the dealer wanted to charge. I've had a clutch installed on my work truck and they where able to install it for $1000 less than the Nissan dealer wanted for it. I would say I've taken both my vehicles in about 3 times each over the past 3 years and they have been nothing but the best. I will definitely keep using these guys. read more

I am one happy camper! I have my Jeep back already! I can't say enough about the great job HCS Auto Repair did replacing my water pump and so fast! I have never had to tow my car to a shop for something like a bad water pump and get it back the same day, plus they did a full multi-point inspection and guarantee their work. I saw these great reviews for HCS and decided they probably know what they're doing so I set an appointment with them to repair my A/C. In my experience they had no clue what they were doing. I have a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Freon "system" it uses is newer than past vehicles. It requires equipment versus just using a can at home like the older Freon versions. I had a long conversation with someone here explaining this and he seemed very knowledgeable and acted like it wouldn't be an issue. When I went to take my Jeep in they did not have the equipment... How incompetent can you be?? Very frustrating and will never use them or even mention them to someone needing car repairs. read more

The bill of $605.00 was far more than I have ever paid before for routine maintenance when no parts needed replacement. The service manager said that the bill was less than a dealership would charge, but I wonder by how much? One dollar or five dollars perhaps? I will try to find a less expensive place for my next routine maintenance. read more

They are very professional and friendly. They have successfully diagnosed and fixed challenging problems on two of my vehicles and stand behind their repairs. I always read the reviews of customers hoping they are the real deal and not friends of the owner making the business look great. I'm a business owner too and know what it takes to show your worth. I recently had my vehicle serviced at HCS and was disappointed. Quality of service was a big issue for me. I'm just assuming the boss has told his employees to sell sell sell extra parts and service, and dig deep into the customers pockets. I'm still looking for a decent repair shop.
