When I asked where they were, he claimed they didn't have laces when I brought them in, and that he didn't remove the laces when he polished/refinished shoes. First off, who does a whole shoe polish without removing the laces? No professional I know. Second, I know for a fact that they had laces in them when I brought them in. His solution was to sell me new laces. After charging me $30 for polishing/refinishing the shoes he wanted me to pay more to replace the laces he apparently lost. Of course I said no, I wasn't giving him more money. I will not return to Cascade Shoe Service. There are plenty of others I can go to instead.

Before dropping it off, I called ahead and was told the repair was something they could handle. I even brought it in first to confirm in person. I was told by the owner, Elizabeth, it would take a couple of weeks. It ended up taking over 3 months, and I had to follow up myself just to get an update. When the glove was finally picked up, the workmanship was extremely disappointing. The repair was incomplete, poorly executed, and not functional. There are exposed and rough areas that could actually cut someone trying to use it. This isn't just a cosmetic issue, the glove is no longer usable as is. I am currently searching for a trustworthy company to handle this glove, and a few others. What I needed was very straightforward: a clean patch and some binding repair. What I got back looks rushed, unrefined, and nowhere near professional quality. I even offered to re-string the glove myself to save time. Delays happen, and not every repair goes perfectly, but the bigger issue here is taking on work that clearly exceeded the shop's capabilities and not communicating that upfront. If you're considering bringing in something you care about, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion or looking elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would not trust this shop with items of value or anything requiring quality craftsmanship.

We will always come here to get our shoes fixed. He is very friendly and it is clear he loves what he does. The thing I appreciate most was he never tried to upsell us. In fact, the repairs we needed he even told us we could do it ourselves but he's happy to do it. That's the type of business I will gladly support. Honest and fair. The price to get three pairs of boots done was less than to just buy a new pair of one of the boots. I gladly recommend The Cobbler.

My only complaint would be that sometimes they close before their posted times. Granted it is a small business so I get the need to run out but he called yesterday saying a pair of my shoes were ready and I headed over around 3pm to grab them and he was closed for the day. However, I have no experience buying suits I have absolutely no idea how to measure one for a suit. Fortunately, Woodland tailoring was recommended to me. We went on a Saturday in April. The place was packed with prom and wedding parties. I was a little dismayed initially, because there were only two gentlemen working and about 30 people in the store. I prepared myself for a wait. Much to my surprise and amazement, the gentleman worked through the line almost magically. After about 10 minutes, it was our turn and it only took a look for him to pull a suit off the rack for my son to try on. No measuring needed he just knew exactly what he needed with a look. That's how you know you are with people who know their stuff! It needed some minor alterations which they do in-house same day!. 30 minutes later, our suit was ready. He threw in a vest and we got a shirt and we were out the door for $210, honestly, that was one of the easiest things we did that day. If you need men's formalwear for any occasion I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Fantastic experience!

I have received 4 voicemail messages in the past 2 weeks, but today he threatened to "donate my personal property to Goodwill". This is not only illegal but highly un-ethical business practice. It is NOT his personal property, and he has NO authority to donate it anywhere! If this is his (right now, very shady and secret) business practice, he would do well to put it in writing for his customers to be aware of prior to enlisting his services. A complaint will be filed with the BBB. There are lots of other tailors around.
