Remy is true professional in his craft. We brought in three pairs of boots and he brought them back to life. My wife had a 10 year old pair of boots that he made look brand new. We will always come here to get our shoes fixed. He is very friendly and it is clear he loves what he does. The thing I appreciate most was he never tried to upsell us. In fact, the repairs we needed he even told us we could do it ourselves but he's happy to do it. That's the type of business I will gladly support. Honest and fair. I was excited to find this place that was in my neighborhood. They are only open Wed., Thurs., & Friday, so l had to wait to bring my shoes in. Got there at 4:30 on Friday and they were closed. Nothing on the door or facebook. I was actually on the phone calling the business when a man came to unlock the door. He told me Remy was out of the country either 3-4 weeks, no firm date when shoes could be dropped off. He was there to allow people to pick up shoes that had been repaired. Wasted if my time. I know this is an independent small business, but not a great first impression on Remy's (lack of) communication for his business. So call before you go, l guess. read more

I purchased a pair of Mezlan shoes in St Petersburg Florida. I wore them a couple times. The soles were completely destroyed. Remy ( The Shoe Doctor) repaired them to perfect condition. I traveled to Grand Rapids from Bridgman to have Remy repair my shoes. We'll worth the couple hour trip. I will return to The Cobbler for my leather repair needs. read more

Oh my goodness, this guy is awesome! I brought in a pair of shoes which he promptly informed me were un-fixable, as the heel had broken away pretty solidly from the rest of the shoe "bed." He could have very easily told me he could fix and charged me whatever he wanted but instead he gave it to me straight and took the shoes as a charitable donation because, you guys, he tries to give back to those less fortunate among us! I took my husband's cowboy boots to get resoled, they were completely worn through. This place resoled, oiled and made them look absolutely wonderful in the 2 week period that he quoted me. My husband was impressed. I also brought in my cowboy boots to get reheeled and did an awesome job on those as well.
