I usually have a go-to hairstyling salon but it is closed on Sundays. This place was perfect and…read morethe staff was very warm and knowledgeable. I was in a time crunch and my hairstylist was fast, professional and excited to get me ready for my event. The atmosphere is very chic and I was even offered a glass of wine. I will definitely be back for any future events.

I made an appointment at another blow dry bar salon in the area just to try it out. I showed up at that other salon and was told I didn't actually have an appointment so THANK GOODNESS for DryBar walk in appointments or else I would have been screwed. I did end up making an appointment on my phone for 15 minutes from when I found out I didn't have an appointment at the other place just to ensure there would be no problems. I really appreciate the appointment availability and walk ins! I will definitely schedule early appointments from now on!! The first time I went my appointment was at 10:30 AM, and yesterday I went at 8:15 AM. It was soo much less crowded (although it wasn't overly crowded the first time). My stylist was so kind, we chatted most of the time. She made sure what she was doing was what I wanted. My hair looked amazing! They had the barbie movie on the TV in front of me with the sound off but subtitles on- I loved watching it as I got my hair done! The price is the only reason I won't go super often, but its definitely a fun experience for special occasions!

When I called for appt ... I specifically asked for "color specialist" ... I was told Id have appt…read morewith a very experienced stylist. I asked if it was a senior stylist and was told no... but the junior stylist was VERY good with color. I expressed how important that I have someone good. I was assured they were. I came for appt - and stylist was sweet, I talked with her about wanting cool highlights so theyd blend with the gray l had coming in on the crown. I also showed her photos/examples of the cool blonde highlights I wanted - and told her since I pull hair back 99% of the time that the front needed to have more highlights around face/like face framing. And it was just a partial highlight mainly on crown of head. She then had me show her photos again. I felt like communication was clear and she understood. She put me in foils and told me shed be back in 45 minutes. I then tried to listen to a documentary on my phone but there was no wifi. It literally said "no connection" under the CarmenCarmen guest link. I then asked receptionist If I could use the employee one which required a passcode to which she said she didnt know what the passcode was. Then there was another CarmenCarmen wifi link (again needed passcode) - and she said she didnt know that one either. So I sit there just staring at a mirror for 45 min. Not even offered a magazine! I did try the wifi couple more times. I thought it was working but it was still "not connected"... I just gave up. Anyway, I was eventually rinsed out and a toner had to be applied. Which told me its likely hair didnt lift enough. I was still hopeful though. When she removed towel at chair I could clearly see there was no lightness in the front. It looked the same wet - as it did at home - before appt. I waited until it was blown out to see if maybe it was "ok". But the highlights werent even a cool tone. They are golden/ brassy. She asked if I liked it - and I asked if she thought it had a brassy tone to it?!? She said "well do you have any purple shampoo at home"?? I said I did have some purple conditioner - its like a hair mask kind. I didnt want to hurt her feelings so I said "well it looks better than when I came in" bc she "did" cover my gray with brown and that was ok - but in my mind Im thinking its deff not what I was expecting/wanted. The highlights are not fluid, they are chunky and large gaps here and there with zero highlights at all. Some start an inch from my scalp. Some highlights are golden/orange color, some are darker. They are not even the same color but more of a mix of colors. Its seriously the worst hair appt Ive ever had. And instead of leaving feeling good, I was so upset afterwards. I then go to pay and It was $235. I would have GLADLY paid $500 to get a senior stylist who had more experience. I still left a $40 tip bc she was at least a sweet girl - and its close to the holidays. So for $275 I got very brassy uneven BADLY placed highlights and a root wash. Oh and did I mention there was a ball of hair like a rats nest that I had to keep stepping around to get in/out of chair?!? Yea there was that too lol. NOT at all the level of service I had in the late 90's when Carmen did my hair. I live an hour and half away - depending on traffic - so definitely not worth the drive nor the money. HARD PASS on this salon!! Update: I called and they did offer to fix the highlights but Id have to come back to the same location - which I declined. I said Id go to North Lake location which is closer - but that wasnt an option.

I called and made a last minute appointment for a blow out at a time close to what I was looking for (I wasn't going to complain, I was surprised to get in at all). Hours later I arrive, to a locked door, and a girl finally lets me in from the rain and asks if I'm here for a tan. When I tell her no she looks extremely confused and then can't find me in the computer, but she says we'll get started right away. She asks what I'm looking for and I mention the "dilworth" (one of the styles mentioned on the site), no glimmer of recognition in her face, so then I just say "some volume and some curls". As she's speeding through my hair with a fifteen second shampoo and a twenty second conditioning, I honestly start to think I'm in the wrong place. Am I going to get a call in ten minutes from another salon asking why I'm not there? The girl keeps asking me about my phone call that morning, do I know who I talked to, do I remember when I called. It's become very obvious she was ready to go home early, and I'd ruined it. But I see the wine glasses and remember the mention of wine on the site, and they carry bumble and bumble like the site I looked at... I have to be in the right place. She uses assorted sizes of round brushes in my hair as "curlers" as she's drying it, and as I get up to look at it finally offers to use a curling iron... Yeah, that'd be great. So she divides my hair into five section, curls each of those, and then curls my bangs. However, she hasn't even taken the time to dry my bangs correctly, so a portion of them just don't want to cooperate, and I'm not sure she cared. She knows I'm going out that night and knows the weather, so I'm happy to hear what sounds like tons of hair spray going on my hair, cause it's gonna need it. As I'm checking out we discover one of the women still there took my call and accidentally put me in as a tan. Mystery solved. I pay the $35 and tip and head home, head covered. As I start preparing for the evening about 30 minutes later, I realize my hair has gone almost completely flat. I have a slight wave and my Farrah Fawcett bangs left, so I run to my own bottle of hair spray and save what I can. So much for the site's claim that the styles should last several days! I was happy for my curled bangs and the temporary volume, not going to lie, but for what I paid I almost wish she would have turned me away at the door.

Their motto is "No Cuts, No Color, Just Style" and that's what I got. I came into the salon (which also houses Gorgeous Glo) and picked out my style (all styles are named after Charlotte neighborhoods) and the best part--I was in and out in about 30 minutes. What?! This is unheard of...but it did happen! I am living proof. They also just opened up a second location in SouthPark. Worth giving a try and especially good for the busy woman on the go!
