I wanted a deep tissue massage. I have a lot of subcutaneous fat. I'm plus size. In order to get to my muscles, you have to dig in. I spoke with Mare, who's amazing by the way, and she suggested I try Ashiatu massage. I had never heard the term before. "Ashi" means foot. Therefore, it's a barefoot massage that involves using bare feet to apply strokes, assisted stretching the muscles. It's freaking awesome. I'm totally weirded out by feet, but I needed this. It the room looks all BDSMish, but it's totally not. She uses drilled poles to steady herself. I was so apprehensive but excited at the same time. Mare's sweet disposition put me at ease. I really valued my experience because I didn't think about her bare feet. I was relieved and listened to the flute and waves. If you're open and want to try a different type of massage, then this is a viable option. Did I mention they take FSA/HSA, too? Check of their list if serves. I have been a few times now - both at the salon and the spa. The people providing the services are pretty good and pleasant enough. The front desk people at both salon & spa are unbelievably not welcoming - especially to work in "reception". They act as if they are annoyed, amused by your "peasant" face/hair, or doing you the favor of checking you in /out. On one visit, I showed up about 10 mins early & was taken back to stylist's chair 20 minutes after the appointment time. No one apologized for the delay - not the stylist or the pristine blonde who often sits at the front desk. I was gifted a $300 gift card for my birthday in August 2023. I didn't realize that it had to be used within a year, and 6 months past the expiration date, they wouldn't honor it. With so many options in Charlotte, making an exception would have secured my future business with the Med spa. It's amazing what you find on IG but it's a blessing when you find an establishment and group of people who are phenomenal at their profession. My first visit with Shannon, I let her know about my upcoming wedding this fall and non-cosmetic procedures I was interested in to look and help feel my best on my big day. She was extremely thorough in her explanation of what I could do and how, and what to expect. She explained a vision, not just a check list of services. I was looking for a new salon and thought I'd give this place a shot. I called the salon ahead of time to book an appointment and asked for a stylist that specifically liked doing mens cuts and can take direction since I'm very particular about my cuts. They paired me with Maggie O'Connor and I Can say without hesitation it was one of the worst experiences of my life. Here are the reasons for my negative review: 1) She literally asked me ZERO questions about how I liked my hair cut or what I was looking to get done which is pretty bizarre considering it was my first visit with her. She also didn't use hair pins and respectively did a horrendous job sectioning my hair 2) She was extremely clumsy with scissors and literally poked me in the neck with her scissors twice. It was of course an accident, and not intentional, but you have to be pretty incompetent to not realize you're poking your client with your scissors multiple times 3) She had an absolutely terrible attitude and couldn't take ANY direction whatsoever. The salon claimed that I was in the wrong for offering direction because Maggie had 20+ years of experience in cosmetology which is just total nonsense. Regardless of experience, you should always ask your client for input especially if it's your first cut with them. Cutting someone's hair at your own discretion and doing whatever you think is best without knowing how someone styles their hair is a surefire way to do a terrible job. Additionally, if her ego doesn't allow her to take direction or get feedback, the salon should've stated this upfront and not paired me with her in the first place 4) When I asked the salon to do a fix, which is part of their policy, they simply cancelled my appointment and made up a series of lies about how I was too critical and too difficult so they would not service me. They also claimed I left them a one star review, and used that as justification to not serve me, which was total BS. I had my haircut in August and I'm posting this review in October, so there was no negative reviews that were posted at the time of my visitation. Ultimately, the whole situation simply underscores the pathetically low-level customer service offered at Re Salon because no attempt was made to understand the situation, to potentially pair me with another stylist, or to offer me a partial refund. They simply didn't care about me as a customer and resorted to name calling and making up lies to defend themselves Look folks, I don't care where you get your hair done, but please avoid Re Salon and specifically Maggie O'Connor. They have a beautiful storefront location in the heart of Southend but their salon was almost completely empty the Saturday I went in and now I know why. They've had multiple changes in ownership because of how much the store struggles and they also have a C- rating with the better business bureau (https://www.bbb.org/us/nc/charlotte/profile/health/re-salon-and-med-spa-0473-294254). Need some emergency botoxs. And Re Med can accommodate at the time I needed. Valet provide and the nurse practitioner was very helpful.. explained everything correctly and gave me some options.. But when they told me about their VIPpackage. It got a little confusing. $499 for the whole year and you'll get "some" complimentary units. I recently moved from Philadelphia and was so unsure on where to go since I live in Davidson. After researching extensions and blonde specialist I found Cait at ReSalon. What a diamond in the rough. She has been so flexible and supportive. Cait even dealt with me taking out my extensions three times until it was just right. Further, some may call it mean while others would call it knowledgeable. I don't want a stylist that says yes to every suggestion or picture I show her. I want a professional that is going to tell me what looks best for my type of hair and coloring. Same with any profession, I go to them for their expertise. After months of going to Cait, I brought my two young daughters and even started recommending her to friends. My girls absolutely love Cait and everyone from the front desk to the management. My oldest has beautiful thick hair but my youngest takes after the Egyptian side of our family. Her hair is beyond thick and curly. Cait patiently taught both of us how to manage it and what products to use. For a 9 year old girl this was such a special thing to do. She always fits us in and will even let us see another stylist if she is booked and we have an emergency or special event. Because of Cait, I now go to Re Salon for everything including Botox and fillers. I finally love having extensions and my self esteem has sky rocketed since my hair is no longer super thin. It never fails... I cannot accurately find this building at night. I tried using the Arlington Tower as a landmark but tonight storm clouds formed an ominous backdrop and the Arlington blended right into them. So I made a u turn and popped back around. A nice gentleman told me that I could park at the eye care center and from there it was a short walk to the facade of the salon. I spoke with the valet for a few minutes then opened the door. It's amazing what a difference there is in the ambiance of the salon at night versus during the day. At night the space seems more intimate and ethereal. My therapist tonight is Aly. I arrived fairly early and was escorted upstairs. There was some sort of party going on. I'm sitting in a wing back chair watching. Aly came & got me & we moved into the Moroccan room. Its at the front of the salon upstairs. I sat in a high back arm chair & took off my socks & shoes. I put my feet in a tub of hot sudsy water & away we went. We started with a pedicure. I'm not really sure about the exact sequence of steps because it made me feel so good, but I'll try and give an outline. First my feet soaked in the sudsy water. Then the nails had all the dirt & lint removed from underneath them. Next the cuticles were shaped. Then the callouses were removed. The nails were trimmed and buffed and a eucalyptus masque was applied as well as a salt scrub. The scrub was purple & sparkly! My feet were then massaged & a matte finish was applied to my toes. At some stage my feet were wrapped in hot towels. The same process was done to my hands. The result was amazing. I actually felt a lot better than when I had initially walked in & the good feelings continue. Re Salon is definitely the place to go whether you're a first timer or you routinely use spa services. I FINALLY found a place to come and relax!!! As soon as I arrived for appointment, I was greeted, checked in and offered coffee, tea, water or wine. Yes to all. (kidding) With a glass of wine in one hand and coffee in the other, me and my two other friends were escorted upstairs to this relaxation room to wait for the start of our pedicures. Loves that. Ally was great! She was the only manicurist on staff that day and had to do three of us back to back. My fault for not communicating correctly when making our appointments. Ally was still very nice, helpful, funny and did a great job on all of our manicures. She even hooked us up with a small sample of the green hand scrub that she uses. I have come here for almost 5 years and been a very loyal customer using the salon and other services .. today however I was given the worst customer service experience.. when I called the salon to let them know I was running 10 min late due to the fact that my car is in the shop and i was relying on Lyft I was told that was ok .. I was unfortunately called just as the Lyft driver was pulling up that they could not see me and despite me being willing to reduce the amount of services thereby decreasing the time it would take to complete my total appointment I was told my beautician would still not see me . Their lack of understanding flexibility and costing me additional fees in a Lyft I did not use is the reason that I won't use them and will not recommend them to anyone going forward. read more

I have super long, thick, curly hair. I get it layered and thinned so that it falls nicely. I asked for 6 inches off and lots of layers and face framing. Instead, Cait chopped it all one length, unevenly, with a few shorter pieces at the front. There are no layers anywhere else, and due to the thickness/curliness of my hair, it now looks like a cone. Now I have to spend $100+ dollars to find someone to fix it. It's like she didn't listen at all! Super disappointing, sad, and frustrating. I was looking for a volumizing haircut and she delivered. Like most salons, they have beer, wine, coffee and water. It's a nice added touch! Prices are comparable to other salons, but not ridiculously high. Bring cash to tip or you can Venmo your stylist! It's awesome you can Venmo since a lot of people don't carry cash. She is warm, friendly and best of all, REALLY good at her job.
