Cindee was warm and welcoming. She listened to my requests and was able to create the perfect hair cut for me that was exactly what I wanted. I would highly recommend her. I have had several stylists in the past that confidently told me they have lots of experience with curly hair, and that they know exactly what to do with mine, but......many times they screwed up my hair, because 1) they don't have curly hair themselves and therefore don't really know how it behaves, and 2) they did not have real experience, they lied, and didn't take the time to learn what to do. However, Cindee has over 30 years experience, and she gives you her undivided attention, because she does NOT overlap appointments. Oh, and the fact that she is the ONLY salon that I know of that offers only natural, permanent hair color that does NOT have peroxide or any other harmful ingredients!!!! I am in my 40's and started going gray early. So with my naturally curly (and coarse) hair, that is graying, it had become very dry, and I could not find anything to improve hydration. Until I stopped using boxed hair color, and Aveda hair color, and began seeing Cindee for her hair color. It has made a world of difference. Cindee cut my hair from lower back length to chin length, and it was the best haircut I have ever received. She has since impressed me with her amazing work on my hair and her incredible heart. I have never loved my hair as much as I do now. She uses impeccable products and is extremely attentive and thorough each appointment. The salon has high ceilings, tons of windows, beautiful plants, and an exotic saltwater aquarium. It is such a relaxing beautiful environment with the natural light and greenery! I have been going to Cindee Blake, owner of The Blue Monkey Salon, since moving to Charlotte in 1984 and will never use anyone else. I have had literally everything done at one time or another, color, perms, cuts, etc. and I have always been more than pleased and always get compliments from complete strangers who ask where I get my hair done. I have been going to Cindee for years, and she is a super star when it comes to hair-a real artist! My hair has never been so healthy and beautiful!!! She just moved her salon in Matthews, and the ambience is wonderful-lots of light and plants and even a very cool aquarium! I can't say enough about what a great person and hairdresser Cindee is!
