Brought my son who is 7 and a little bit nervous about getting his haircut. I mention that to the barber and he straight up told me "you're better off going somewhere else. This is a review for Christian, one of The Barbers there that show me such Hospitality in my first time. I'm a student at Touro University which is very close to Headliners Barbershop. I was looking for a quick place to get a line up and came across this place on Yelp. I saw how close it was to my campus and decided to check it out. From the moment I walked in, it was great hospitality, great company. They were so welcoming and so understanding and then you have allow me up really well. My lineup was $15 and I tip them in an additional $5 so a total of $20. I like the hospitality and the company of the barbershop so much that I brought two additional classmates with me. One of them was from New York and was asking me where he can get a haircut from people who knew how to cut black people hair, I was like you know what I do know a spot, and I took him to Headliners. My other friend who usually gets his haircuts in Richmond also came with me. We are all students at Touro and this is a very convenient place for anyone who lives in the area, by the area, or needs a real quick haircut. Headliners Barbershop gives me the best haircuts. No other barbers compare. When I try other places, they never get my haircut exactly right, but Headliners does. Allane was very good and precise I said if you mess up my hair especially my lining. Then I consider it a bad cut and he did good still left a little to much on top. But I've seen worst but he did good on my lining compared to his old classmate. He also took care of my facial all for a damn good price. Headliners does not live up to the hype. This bold barber completely destroyed my hair to the point of no return. After he finished the bmx race track he left on my head, he had the audacity to ask me to pay. The ATM machine was down, I waited about an hour, and left with a bad hair cut. So I went to get my nephew hair cut and you know it's more then 2 and a half hours before closing as I'm getting the kids out the barber inside tells another customer to put the closed sign up and mind you the customer is laughing as he did this I found it disrespectful and unprofessional and I do not recommend this place at all next time at least have the balls to say it to us directly. read more

Went here for the first time today. Only had to wait for two heads in front of me in spite of the fact that it was Valentine's Day, the place was full, and there were only two barbers cutting. I read all the reviews and saw the number of high marks folks gave Julius, so I went in to see him. However, of the 6 guys in front of me, 4 of them were waiting on Juilius! I wound up getting a young barber named Lamar. Lamar is not only an outstanding barber that took the time to understand exactly what kind of cut I was looking for, and made sure to check in with me that he was on target, but also an intelligent young man that was able to engage in conversation that ranged from sports, to music, to travel, to kids. I left with a great new cut and a new barber. I'll definitely be back to see Lamar again. read more

I took my nephew to Headliners for his very first professional cut and I'm so glad I did. Headliners is a no fuss, no muss barbershop. Simple decor with a TV on the wall for customers to pass the time. I had called first thing in the morning to make an appointment but one wasn't necessary, they told me to just come on in. When we arrived, my little nephew started to get scared but then barber Angelo immediately put him at ease by offering him a lollipop. I showed Angelo a picture of the haircut we wanted and he replicated it perfectly. He was professional and very gracious and informative when I asked him questions. I really liked the fact that Angelo and the other barber who was there were very down to earth and welcoming. Barbershops to me fall into the same category as tattoo parlors...they can be intimidating if you aren't really knowledgeable about them but the staff at Headliners made us feel totally comfortable. My nephew's haircut came out awesome, his sideburns were as sharp as could be....I don't know technical terms but the lines on his forehead were very precise and neat. Julius is one of THE best barbers I've ever paid to cut my hair. I lived in NYC, around the Bay, Sacramento and San Diego. He's definitely "top shelf" material. Julius is always on point when I explain a new hairstyle and am attempting to change things up. All the barbers in the shop are extremely skilled and make you feel welcomed. My son of 4 needed a hair cut and this place is great if you want a fade but don't ask for something other then a fade because they wouldn't know what your talking about. I had to walk my barber through on how to do my haircut. Seriously, do they just let anybody cut here now a days?! My normal barber canceled on me today so I had to resort to this place and boy was it a mistake. I would've rather had to walk around with a damn mohawk or something tha the haircut my barbergave me. Been going here since 2001 when we first moved to Vallejo but started at the Springs Road location. Chopped off mine and my Son's hair here then been coming back every other week since. Jules is my main barber and family really. Barbershop atmosphere to the fullest, with quality cuts. I go here for a simple cut and sometimes change it up but nothing else too spectacular like designs; maybe for my Son sometimes but rarely. Sydnie Bianca is an awesome hair stylist and when i mean an awesome hair stylist i mean shes bad ass at cutting hair and also i heard her colors for women are on point, whatever school she went to for hair needs to be recognized !! She just doesn't do girls hair for colors or haircuts but also men and does an excellent job!
