I've been to many barbershops in Vallejo and this is the first time I can truly say this was the beat haircut I've ever got since moving from the East Coast. You have trell, don, squeak, & junior ( the painter/barber) who has bars in cutting and painting (which they do sell at a very reasonable price) inside is very clean & professional. You have live entertainment sports, movies,& sometimes comedy that keeps you company until your time is up to get cut if you are walking-in. My boy squeak the squeakler will always hook it up, including ya boy trell, don, and jr. I just mentioned squeak because he's my main barber. The experience I had at double edge cutz was terrible . I wanted an under cut for my birthday and I had my first haircut done by a barber named Patrice. Long story short I was a walk in client and waited 3 hours, I asked for a trianglular under cut and got a wierd non symmetrical curve "ghost shape" on the back of my head. Was in need of a haircut and also hadn't trimmed my beard in over a year. Walked in and was told they could probably get to me in about an hour if I wanted to sign in and come back. I live only minutes away so it gave me just enough time to run home, marinade some chicken, prep some corn on the cob and chop up some greens. Everything prepped for grilling later and back to the barber shop. Jarius had a great sense of humor and treated me very well. Great cut, beard trim and shampoo at an affordable price. OK, the moment I walked in I knew this place was legit! I'm not used to getting my haircut in a proper barbershop... but now I realize what I've been missing! This is a great group of guys who take a lot of pride in their work and their work environment. Although this place is basically a man-cave, it's definitely family-friendly. On the wall (Amidst the amazing art!) you'll see a policy of "No Profanity...No Smelling like weed...Be respectful at all times." I really appreciated that! While I sat in the chair I had some great conversations/banter with my barber (Jairus) and some of the regulars, We chatted about everything, sports, politics, music...very cool vibe! Jairus gave me the exact type of cut I asked for and meticulously lined me up, right down to my facial hair. Totally exceeding my expectations! First time walking in here and the vibe was good. No one was unnoticed, and all the barbers were intentional with there customers. Jairus Cook plugged me with excellent service. He was very relational, not only did he asked me what I want but also kept the conversation going about anything else, my point is, as a first timer, it didn't feel like my first time, felt like family. I've been bouncing around for a bit trying to find the perfect place to maintain the fade/undercut type thing I've got going on. I've had some trouble articulating what I want and have run into problems at salons and chain shops that just can't do a good fade. I'm done looking now though because Patrice got it spot on today. She worked with me to get the length right and cut everything in just the way I wanted. When it grows out and needs to be done again I'll be making an appointment with her for sure. The shop itself is super clean with great artwork on the walls. The staff is friendly and there is a definite family atmosphere to the place. I've had a hard time at other places that don't like to deal with "white girl hair" in their shops, but there was none of that nonsense here. Great sports fans and friendly Barbers BUT my son had gotten great cuts by Donald and another guy in the past but today I was very disappointed with the girl who "bald faded" my son. No technique skills from lining him up or even a simple fade. I went back 5 min later requesting her to clean and fix it and she said it's my son's hair line. But don't say that, it's not true.
