Service - 3 guys working when we came in. We had an appointment for my son, yet they didn't seem like they wanted us there. Quality - Each barber takes their time on their customers. Perhaps they are all happy; perhaps not. Can't tell. Vibe - we come here because my son likes one particular barber. The music is set to a particular music channel and just too loud; the barbers don't seem too concerned that the music is too much or that it is not appropriate for the younger audience . It's a barber shop - I get it - but the language can be a little heavy at times. I go to another barber shop, and I never have these issues. Half the barbers joke between themselves and cut up; I know this is how they regulate their stress but this is not how you run a franchise location. Case in point: the customer asked why the music kept switching and this was the response to the customer (and I am quoting here): "I am the DJ, and you'll listen to what I want to play." Great place to get your cut. Hd a hard tine finding someone to replace my Nirmal barber and found this place on accident. Met Luke and he's been cutting my hair since. The staff is modern and they like to joke and banter, which I like. Not everyone will like the hip hop atmosphere, but they do a stupendous job at a reasonable price. You can book you appointments on line and they will even text or call if there are issues, updates, or anything else. Why 5 stars? Because Nate hooked me up in a couple different ways now. --- --- --- I have my usual go-to barber shop in Carrollwood, but occasionally I like to try a new place just to shake things up. Right before Thanksgiving, when I was about to travel to see family, I visited another barbershop and had a pretty terrible experience. When I got home, I stared at my cut in the mirror and got more and more annoyed with how badly he messed it up. I tried to go back to the barbershop and get it fixed, but there a ton of people waiting and I would have been there all night. So I made a quick decision to go to Headlines to see if somehow, they could just quickly fix me up. I walked in and was asked if I had an appointment. I explained that I didn't and I was just hoping for a 5-10 minute quick fix. Nate quickly said he'd hook me up and he did a great job. He even tried to turn down money, but I insisted. So I went back to Nate recently for a full haircut and he did a great job. My normal barber does a solid job - it's cheap and quick. But Nate really takes his time and it feels like real, professional work. I will probably continue to visit my regular barber most of the time, but I'll continue to stop in and see Nate when I have more time to get the real deal. read more

Floor was covered in hair...def not cleaned between customers. My son was in for a quick trim...the guy with dreads was SO SLOW. He kept watching TV....snip, blank stare at TV, pause...clip clip, blank stare at TV.....long pause...snip snip....pause.... Then he cuts my son's ear...and my son starts bleeding. Over 40 minutes and he was STILL not done. No way he has his barber's license. The simple trim was in some wierd mullet-with an uneven back. We finally just left...this took way too long for a simple cut...We drove down the street where another barber corrected the cut in about 10minutes. read more

Hubs comes here to get his hair cut. He switched from Supercuts to here a few months ago and fell in love with the place. Located next to Chilis off of N Dale Mabry and Fletcher. You're able to make appointments which makes it a breeze for going. And they are quick. His haircut has never looked so good. The staff is hip and friendly and the shop is clean. I recommended my brother to get his hair cut at this place because it was close by with decent reviews, and they had appointments available. My brother was supposed to have his appointment at 1215pm yesterday but another customer who "messed up his appointment time" was serviced first. It took over an hour for my brother to finally get his haircut. The whole point of my brother setting an appointment was so that he would be back in time to help me with my newborn baby since I am currently in healing from a broken ankle. As a salon professional myself, this is completely rude, inconsiderate, and unprofessional to clients who make an appointment appropriately and are on time. I don't understand how a client who "messed up" their appointment is rewarded by getting their haircut first? It makes no sense to reward bad behavior and inconsiderate of the barbers' time and also other patrons who make their appointments appropriately. read more

Just moved to Tampa a couple months ago and needed to find a good barber. Lucky for me Headlines is close by where I stay and decided to go. From the moment I walked in, I felt good vibes. As I sat down, I was greeted by one of the barbers and he asked me if I had an appointment in which I responded that I did not. He then told me to sit tight that I would be taken care of in no time. Before I knew it I was sitting in Abe's (my new barber) chair. Cool guy, had great conversation and he really hooked me up, my cut came out exactly how I wanted it to. I've always been a little skeptical trying out new barbers but in this case it felt right from the start. All barber are pretty cool dudes and are very talented in their craft. I'm so happy that I found this place back in September. We'd been bouncing around for quite sometime and everywhere we went, my eldest ended up with his hair being badly cut. His hair is straight and thick. I'm so thankful that we found Michael Harmon at Headlines. After letting him know my teen's hair had been badly cut, and showing him the chunks of uneven hair, Michael took his time cutting the hair and even it out. He then made sure that everything was perfectly even. He took his time and the end result was brilliant. Today I returned to Headlines for another appointment with Michael. I had my sister take my son to get a haircut, the usual barber was closed for gasparilla....well she found this one because my son has picture day coming up and needed a cut asap...the man that cut my son's hair butchered it and did not follow the directions that were given to him SEVERAL times to NOT cut the middle of my son's hair yet he did and he chopped up the top yet didn't touch the middle of the back (that he wasn't supposed to cut ANY of) and the fadeon the sides was uneven with bald spots and didn't clean the back area up with clippers and his hair SMELLED awful with whatever he sprayed in it, it smelled like musty watered down cologne...again not sure what guy, I was told he looked middle eastern....nate(a different barber) however did a good job on my sister's husband's hair read more
