Location is awesome. Easy to Jackson and Jenny Lake, yellowstone and the snake river (i think) behind it so easy dusk drive to look at animals in the water. The cabin had a few maintenance issues but I wasn't buying it and it didn't take away from the trip as it was very clean and comfortable. Perfect place to shower and sleep. The best part about staying at Headwaters is the staff. Exceptional hospitality. Everyone was helpful. Special shout out to Bella (Front desk) who went above and beyond and spent time assisting me during and after my stay! She really didn't have to and very few people in this world would have. I will 100% stay here again. The staff throughout the lodge made my family's vacation that much more comfortable and enjoyable. Thank you, Headwaters staff!! read more

Located between Grand Teton and Yellowstone, Headwaters Lodge and Cabins were a nice accommodation if you're visiting these national parks. Booked this 2 weeks in advance. Check in was quick. To save you time and energy, do not make the mistake of bringing all your bags when checking in because the cabins where you'll stay at are located at a separate site from this main building where people check in and where the restaurant (I wrote a separate review for this) and shops are. You need to drive to get there after you get huge keys to your cabin. Rocking chairs can be found outside the cabins. The cabin was spacious and clean. It's like a hotel room without a TV. At that time of the year, the temperature was comfortable without using the heater. Just like anything in this area, it is pricey but I had a good experience here. read more

This campground was amazing!!! We weren't sure what to expect but this campground has everything you need there is a small convenience store, great facilities with hot showers, drinking water, and bear proof boxes at each site. Compared to some of the larger campsites I would choose this one any day! It's quiet at night and not too close to the road, not too many tourists and great access to the river near by. Only complaint is the mosquitos!!! Make sure to bring enough bug spray for everyone and use it often. Mosquitoes are out all night and all day and don't stop. Loved headwaters and hope to be back in the future! read more

Location! Location! Location! Can't make up your mind between Yellowstone National Park and Grand Tetons National Park? This place is smack dab in the middle between the two. The small strip of land that separates these two national parks is private and national forest, so you know it's just as good as the stuff between the two huge parks. This campground and lodge is where the Ashton-Flagg road intersects with the Snake River at the John D Rockefeller Jr Memorial Highway. The lodge is clean, has a gift shop that has classier gifts, like xmas ornaments, blankets, stickers, patches, also has some camping gear. They have bear repellent! The front part of the lodge also serves as a bit of a grocer with lots of things you can easily eat while camping, and other camping provisions. The lodge also seemed to have a restaurant on site, but I didn't try that one out. I drove in thanks to Google Maps routing me from Ashton, ID across this one lane, treacherous dirt road that looked like a logging trail through the woods, up and down steep inclines. We drove in the rain and the mud through one of the most harrowing driving experiences I've ever done. We'd have to pull over to the side to allow the occasional passing car by on these narrow, steep mud roads through the Grand Teton Mountains. read more

This place was perfect for our two night stay. Just a short drive from Jackson Lake Lodge (you want to visit, trust me) and very close to Yellowstone. We had a cabin with TWO Queen beds which was really nice, comfortable, quiet and clean. I called ahead to determine what we might need and was informed they have a problem with mosquitos so we came prepared! We also were told there is no tv, radio, air conditioning, microwave, WiFi, cell phone service, or refrigerator in the room. For $250/night that seemed a bit silly but we were limited on location, cost and availability. The bathroom was nice with a spacious vanity. The water pressure in the shower was really great and they offered a fan since there is no AC. The grounds are clean with a huge parking lot. Our cabin was right next door to an ice and soda machine so there is NO need to buy ice which we learned from the very nice guy who checked us in. There is a gas station on site (great prices), a restaurant (not so great food), a wonderful gift shop and a convenience store, offering most everything you might need during your travels. They also had one of those water filter machines by the water fountain that allows you to fill your bottles with crisp, clean, filtered water. That was a huge help! The only reason I didn't give this place a 5 star is because they forgot to clean our room. For what we paid, this should not happen but when I mentioned it to the front desk they immediately replaced towels, glasses, coffee etc. They also provided me a discount at check out for the trouble so that was really great. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and you should too! read more

Beautiful cabins near Yellowstone & Grand Teton. Stayed in their modern cabins one night in June after exploring Grand Teton NP. Was full of amenities, aside from AC, although we were provided with a tower fan. Great beds. Utility carts to haul your luggage. Very spacious room. Each cabin had 2 rocking chairs outside, although one of ours was broken. The other downfall is for the amount of cabins they have, there was only one ice machine available and the three times we checked it, it was always out of ice. If we're back in the area, I'd definitely like to stay again & for more than one night. read more

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but unfortunately had to drop it down to 3. Here's the good, the bad and the ugly. The good: We stayed in these adorable little cabins, which were extremely clean and more roomie than I expected. Each cabin comes with 1 set of bunk beds, a table with 2 chairs and a small dresser. We got to stay in 2 different cabins and the only difference was that the first one had bunk beds with 2 queens and the second had a twin on top and a queen on the bottom. There isn't much of a ladder to get up to the top bed, just wide slats, but it's doable. The beds are just a plastic covered pad, but I found them more comfortable than sleeping on the ground in a tent. You could either bring sleeping bags (like we did) or sheets/bedding. Each campsite also comes with a sturdy picnic table and fire pit. Overall the campground is clean and really quiet, considering the entire place was full. There are free showers in the bathrooms, which was a plus, and there is a lodge close too with a restaurant, gift shop and small convenience store. The bad: In the entire campground there are only 2 bathroom locations. Depending on where you are staying, you may have to walk a bit to use the toilet. I get up at least once a night to pee, so that was fairly inconvenient. Next, the campground is at least 1 hours drive from the Jenny lake area in the Tetons. We didn't realize how far up it was until we started driving. It's just across the boarder from Yellowstone. The ugly: As we were leaving the campground on the last day my friend was speeding a bit (Please note that the speed limit is 7...she was probably going 20) and this campground worker started shouting at us. Like literally yelling. My friend immediately stopped and opened her door to see what was wrong. The women marched up to us with a whole lot of anger and started chastising us for speeding. Was it wrong for my friend to be going 20 in a 7? Yes. Does this woman have the right to stop us and yell at us like we are little children? No she does not. There are kinder and calmer ways to handle other humans. This put a bad taste in our mouths as we left this campground, which is really too bad. Not sure I would stay here again. read more

Great Escape in Perfect Location Stayed our 4th time at the historic Flagg Ranch and we loved it again! Perfectly situated between Yellowstone and Jackson so you've got easy access to both the Tetons and Yellowstone. Staff that are authentic, friendly, and engaging. Especially in the restaurant, activity tours, and lodge. They are NOT the typical "dead eyed, drunk on media" millennial crowd who are looking towards a cigarette break! We love unplugging from cell service, WiFi, and computers during our stays. Amazing to actually talk with family members, explore nature, meet people, and have renewed relationships. Variety of lodging, camping, glamping options. Mattresses in executive lodgings could be improved, but, everything was clean and the staff service excelled! read more

Upon entering Grand Teton, we saw several campgrounds that are still open (first come first serve basis). We went straight to Jenny Lake but it was already full, we drove some more and found Colter Bay, both campgrounds and Cabins were full. We were even told "I don't know where else could you get a site at this time (6pm)." We thanked them and decided to just drive even until yellowstone. We saw Flagg Ranch and went to inquire. We were told they were full but we can stay by the parking lot for the night. We were given a permit to stay and the ranger even told us to check Huckleberry Hotspring in the morning. We were told we could use the bathroom and there's a store and restaurant. I can't thank them enough for letting us stay, the message on the permit is also very sweet. There were about a dozen camper in the parking lot that night who just like us could not find a site anymore. read more

Excessively expensive for mediocre service. Our room was chalk full of mosquitos and nowhere else in Yellowstone seemed to have a mosquito problem like that. No tv, radio, air conditioning, microwave, WiFi, cell phone service, or refrigerator in the room. Which I wasn't bothered by because you're in a national park. But the price is stupid high for very slim amenities (bed, shower, sink) Everything in the shops and restaurants is very expensive. There was no water available anywhere I went. I had to drive 2 hours out to get water to drink. We went to get breakfast at the lodge and it was buffet only which is $16/person and didn't look appetizing. Online it says they have a restaurant with a menu. In our room we had gross coffee and we asked for hot chocolate for the kids. A lady said someone would bring it by but nobody ever did. We inquired about it the next day and the front desk said you have to buy cocoa. We went on a 10 hour bus tour which was $200/each. The schedule said to arrive at 7:45 as the bus would pick up at 8. We got there and checked in and the lady said the bus comes at 8:15. We waited and waited and then another lady said the bus comes at 9:00. 9:15 the bus finally shows up and the tour guide was very confused as to how many people were in our party. They provide you a lunch with your tour which turned out to be a tiny half meal hardly fit for a child. Luckily we brought snacks but the guide said you can't eat on the bus which was where you were most of the time. Each time you asked for something we were told you had to buy it. I understand they want to make money but it felt like they were really gouging people. Especially with the amount of money we spent just on those rooms. Overall I had a nice time but I don't feel like it was worth the high cost. If I were to visit again I would get a hotel in a town outside the park and drive in/around and sight see. I got about a dozen mosquito bites even with layers of bug spray on. They were just EVERYWHERE in flag ranch. make sure you are fully stocked with water, sun screen, bug spray, and all the essentials. They did not have any aloe or anything for a sunburn and no cortisone or itch cream for bites read more

We stayed at Headwaters Lodge & Cabins. The meal was amazing, the "cabin" not so much. When we arrived we found the bathroom vanity to be dirty, the bathroom floor dirty and the bathroom smelled horribly of urine. The sheets were musty and had holes in them. Overall I couldn't wait to leave and get to our next hotel. I do not recommend Headwaters Lodge & Cabins to stay, but great meal if you need to eat while passing through. read more

We used the campground. We selected this location over a place in the park so that we would have power. It was expensive for a campground. Looking at the price list outside of the bathroom we could have stayed in a cabin and saved money. The bathrooms were large and never had to wait. We asked about hiking and hot springs, one lady gave us a map, the next person said you can not get in the water. Wish there was better communication among employees. We LOVED Headwaters Cabins! The overall location is around 5 minutes from Yellowstone & Tetons. We stayed in the larger cabins, with bathrooms inside, and thought the rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable, and fitting for the environment. The cabins were amongst tall conifers, which smelled so good! The front porches had rocking chairs to make a hot cup of coffee super enjoyable in the 45° summer mornings. Employees were super nice and caring. The restaurant's food was DELICIOUS and the servers were very attentive. We asked the host what his favorite parts of Yellowstone were and he came back with a map, highlighted and circled with his own personal favorites. We were incredibly impressed with (I think his name was) Quentin! Overall, one of our favorite lodging experiences. read more

We were lodging at Flagg Ranch cabins, so this was the only close place to eat. The lodge is spacious with lots of wildlife photography on the walls. The service was good. Our first night there, we had the trout dinner with baked potato and sautéed Brussels sprouts. Dinner was delicious, especially the fish, which was tender and cooked perfectly. The next morning, we had the $20/person breakfast buffet. It was just ok. They served scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, French toast, pastries, and some fruit. Since we got there toward the end, there weren't any bowls left for oatmeal, and only a few pieces of fruit were left in the serving bowl. The leftover French toast was kind of tough and cold. We were not too impressed. On our last night, we went back and had the trout dinner again, that was how much we liked it. Overall, I would recommend dinner at the lodge, but not the buffet breakfast. read more

Not well kept. The place looked really nice when we booked it but when we got there with our RV, the site was really dusty, and it was really small and unlevel. It was also really dirty, and their sewer system was not the best. It either had a connection on the to or the side, the one on the top would push the sewer back and the one on the side was designed so we couldn't use our y connector. Way overpriced for a campground. We were here for a week in our motorhome, and I'll admit that the location is really beautiful. The amenities are seriously lacking considering the cost per night. The bathrooms/showers were pretty nasty with muddy areas and trash not being picked up for a day or more. When we checked in we were told there was wifi at the lodge (not in the campground) which seemed fine. What they don't say is that the bandwidth is so limited that we were lucky to send or receive a text message. Email, website, social media, etc... simply didn't work at all. The propane service was down for a few days, which can happen, but considering the rest of how the campground is managed, it seemed like there is just no will to fix problems or make improvements. read more

This is a specific review of the Headwaters General Store, which is such a blessing to travelers who can pull off the road and grab something to eat, find some mementos or gas up the rental car at the General Store gas station. Headwaters Lodge features a restaurant, Saloon, gift shop, gas station and a full convenience store. There are rustic guest cabins nestled nearby in the pines trees and camp sites located just a short walk away from the Snake River. The Headwaters is a real western experience. The property, at what was formerly known as Flagg Ranch, is situated in the perfect spot to enjoy the best of two national parks. The Yellowstone Park South Entry is 2 miles to the north and Grand Teton North Entry is 4 miles to the south. Very convenient for travel into either park. But the General Store is great! Our tour guide advised us to use the stop at Headwaters General Store as a bathroom break and meal pit stop. Most of the visitors did just that and then grabbed some snacks and drinks. I wanted to buy something unique to bring home as gifts and was lucky enough to find some huckleberry lip balm and a huckleberry-infused milk chocolate bar that was beyond delicious! I understand now why all the wild bears are CRAZY for huckleberries! I did have to deduct 1 YELP Star, as I was looking to buy something for my dinner to take back to the hotel and wanted a hot dog. Unfortunately, there were none in the heater although the buns were out. Otherwise, the General Store is a very nice, quaint and charming experience. read more

Premier Cabin Review: Most Importantly: THIS IS NOT A NPS OWNED FACILITY AND NOT INSIDE EITHER PARK! ~$400 per night after they add fees and taxes. Be warned that there is nothing "premier" or "cabin-like" about these rooms. They are duplexes with a long common wall. You can hear your neighbor, so bring a fan. There is one average sized window and a full light door and that's it. We were in cabin 434. The indoor/outdoor carpet was filthy and covered in stains. The curtains were filthy. Windows have never been washed. 2 queen sized beds were of average motel quality and the bathroom was tiny. NO HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES AT ALL--nope, they don't bring toilet paper. The entire room needs plaster repair and paint. No AC and the heater was very odd. We called the front desk to report the heater not working, no one answers so you must leave a message, which we did. Never heard back. We managed, but the heater goes on and off at will. The room was either too hot or too cold. Definitely needs a new thermostat. No TV or radio in the room. Several radio stations came in well in my car in the parking lot, so I'm not sure why the room could not have a clock/radio. No cell service, television service or internet, which is okay, but for $400/night I would think a TV/DVD/blueray player would be possible. Wifi service in the Headwaters Lodge lobby is horrible, don't waste your time. Drive to Canyon Lodge or Old Faithful and ask for the password. We noticed that most guests were only staying one night, we stayed 4 and paid for 5. We couldn't take another night there. We noticed many people trying to get out of their reservations once they realized the poor quality and lack of internet service, there are no refunds. Overheard one lady ask her husband in a pitiful tone, "How many nights are we staying here?" I actually felt sorry for her. Realize that you won't be staying out late in the parks because driving in the dark through Yellowstone is tricky with poor lighting, animals on the move, and very curvy roads. You will want to be back to your lodging area before dark. You cannot eat dinner at Headwaters Lodge without a reservation and there are a very limited number of reservations available, much less than the number of lodgers. There is absolutely nothing to do at Flagg Ranch, no activities at all. You will want to get back before the little store closes, because you will need to buy chips and Cup O' Noodles for dinner. Here is my best advice to anyone reading this: Plan your NPS vacations 11-12 months in advance; Get a NPS camp site or lodge room within the park you are visiting; bring your own food and games; and bring all your patience, the parks are packed with people/cars and we went in the "shoulder season", ie late September, and enjoy because Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons are amazing!! read more

Everything was so dusty and we were put in furthest cabin from the bathrooms which was cool with 2 small children. The bathrooms were gross and dirty and so was the dishwashing sink. The cabin was clean but the bunks were so unstable feeling that my son wanted to sleep on the floor rather than the top bunk. read more

This place is actually not bad. So why only 2 stars? Because they advertise this place like it's spectacular and they charge prices that are consistent with the advertising rather than the reality of the fact that it's just an average accommodation. The "lodge" rooms are basically motel rooms of about 2 or 3 star quality on the level with a typical $120 room. The campground had people camping practically on top of one another and it looked more like a refugee camp than a fun place to spend a night. The restaurant food was swill. Their breakfast buffet was eggs the consistency of snot, some over-seasoned dried out potatoes and greasy bacon. The trout that came with my order (from the menu) was not fresh. VERY not fresh. The service was prompt and polite however. The saving grace for this place is that it sits in a beautiful and quiet (away from the refugee camp) location. I had a wonderful, albeit very brief, few moments sitting quietly at an overlook spot enjoying the sights, sounds and smells. I actually would potentially stay here again. But know that the marketing collateral they publish is exceptionally flattering, and the price is excessive for the quality of the overall experience. read more

Stayed here for a night while exploring the Tetons in the camping area and fully enjoyed it. The site was rather large and the bathrooms were near by. The campground itself it situated right between Yellowstone and Teton which is perfect and only about an hour drive to Jackson Hole. The staff were all really helpful and you can refill your propane here. It was priced a bit high which is where they lose a star ($72 a night). No cell service and WiFi is questionable so make sure you take care of anything you'll need internet for before you arrive! read more

Great location. Nice amenities. Pricey. This resort has lodging and camping, a full service restaurant, a convenience store, gas station, and gift shop. Starting with your standard tent or RV site, or you can choose a camp cabin with bunk beds and a table which is a nice option if you don't have an RV and don't want to sleep in a tent. They also offer cabins which are more like a nice budget motel room. I was not expecting the "cabin" to have such nice amenities and maid service. The deluxe cabins have a microwave and mini fridge. One note: there are no TVs in the rooms - this is on purpose. The restaurant is a nice sit down restaurant with some good entree options. However be warned it is not cheap. All dinner options are over $10 and can go upwards of $30 for an entree. One complaint I have is the WiFi - it is slower than dial up. It's nice that they offer it at no charge but we couldn't really connect with any speed so we didn't bother after the initial session. On a positive note I think this is a great location because it's right between Yellowstone and Grand Teton so it is easy to visit both parks. Also, the resort offers activities like horseback rides, fly fishing, and ranger programs. read more

I would totally avoid booking this place in September. My husband and I couldn't access to this lodge due to road closures because of heavy snow. We called Headwaters Lodge and said that we had to cancel our stay because we couldn't get to their place. I booked them via booking.com and it says that I should at least get my tax back- however, they are not even refunding the tax. They are not even responding to my emails or cancellations via Booking.com. One star for being very inconsiderate of the situation and being irresponsive. read more

I agree with the another Yelp reviewer who stated that the website for this place makes it look really nice. When I got their I was disappointed. The main lodge building is small with a cramped lobby. The restaurant smelled of old food/drink spills when I stopped to look at the menu. Didn't eat there. Free wifi works if there are not many people accessing only. The campground was cramped with too many sites on too little space. There were pot holes on the main road in. Check in was slow even with a reservation. The camping cabins are wedged in along the campground road and one even has an RV site immediate behind it! This was my assigned cabin which I promptly switched out! The cabin was disappointing too. There is no electricity - so no light. I had a tent light but it was not enough. They should at least provide a led battery operated lantern. Ideally, it would be like a KOA with electrical outlets and overhead lighting and heating. There was no heat either which I knew ahead of time. But for 77 dollars plus tax these cabins are a rip off. There was a stained wood table with two chairs and a bunk bed with the upper bunk having very little head room. One window was lacking a curtain so people could look in if they wanted to and light from cars flashed into my cabin during the night. Plus the rumble of the RVs could be felt as they passed by. The mattress was uncomfortable (hard) and had dirty spots. The parking area for the cabin was muddy and the walk to the bathrooms was muddy. The bath house never seemed to be attended to. The plumbing is messed up so when you are in the shower and someone flushes a toilet or turns on another shower the water temperature and pressure fluctuates in your shower!!! The shower floors were always muddy. I appreciated that they provided paper towels in the bathroom though. I regretted booking for two nights as I didn't want to return for the second night. Never again! Way too expensive for what you get! read more

My husband and I stayed in one of their camper cabins for four days in the first week of June, and had a wonderful time. Making the reservation was easy over the phone, and the front desk staff at the lodge was very friendly and helpful during check in. This place is about five minutes from the southern entrance to Yellowstone, and is MUCH easier to get reservations at than a campground inside Yellowstone National Park, but it will take you a solid hour (or more) to reach Old Faithful and other attractions in the park. Definitely keep that in mind. The camper cabins themselves (at least the one we stayed in) were very new. They were clean, and just the right amount of space for us to get all of our camping gear inside overnight and during the day when we were gone. It was so nice not having to bother with a bear locker, and the cabin provided wonderful respite from the horrendous mosquitos that plagued us at dusk and dawn (and pretty much any other time as well - they were not picky eaters). The cabins have a surprising amount of windows, letting in a ton of natural light during the day, but good curtains providing privacy as well. Two of the smaller windows in the cabin have screens on them and will open, allowing you to get a nice cross-breeze going when it's warmer in the cabin. There were only a few drawbacks to this place; one was that the camper cabins are very, very close to one another. We had courteous neighbors, but if you don't, that might make your stay less enjoyable. The mattresses are also very hard. (I know, I know, whining about a mattress while camping makes me seem like the biggest diva ever - but I was six and a half months pregnant during our stay, and the mattress made me downright uncomfortable. Anyway, not a huge deal.) The bathrooms were also not the cleanest campground bathrooms I've seen (especially the showers). The campground staff that I met cleaning the bathrooms seemed like they were working hard, but even with the relatively low traffic in early June they had a hard time keeping it clean. Not a deal breaker, but something to keep in mind. Know what to expect and it's fine. Don't expect a highly connected business hotel. Don't expect a full village - there's a bar, a restaurant, and essentially a gas station convenience store. We stayed here for the easy access to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons and it was great for that, only 2 miles from the entrance to Yellowstone and maybe 20 minutes to the grand Tetons. The cabins are sturdy and simple, though actually pretty comfortable. No TVs, and the rooms and grounds get verrrrrry dark at night (if you're arriving at night, the roads can be pretty confusing but the deskmen were helpful). It was a great place for us to crash after spending the day hiking. The restaurant isn't great, and it's pretty expensive. We had dinner here and entrees ran about $25-30 each and include things like trout and prime rib. The food was fine but it was expensive for what we got. They try to be much fancier than they are, which can be frustrating, but it was pleasant enough. Breakfast was a different story. It looks a very long time to get our food (pancakes for me, and the standard breakfast for friends which is 2 eggs, bacon, etc.) the food was cold when it came, though I think we were lucky, since the table next to us waited even longer than we did for a simple bowl of oatmeal. The breakfast food also tasted much worse than dinner. I'd say avoid eating breakfast here if you can, bring your own granola bars and things and just stick to that. read more

My family and I are moderate campers, meaning we haven't reached backpacking status yet, but have only ever slept in a tent. We decided we would try a camping cabin. This my friends is glamping! The cabin we got came with a full size bunk bed. The beds have a foam pad that feels kind of like a futon. It included a side three drawer dresser and a table with two chairs. Outside the cabin is a porch. You also get a picnic table and fire pit. The inside of the cabin is quite roomy. My family of four weren't bumping into each other. Our cabin was in walking distance to all the amenities. The bathrooms were large, well lit and clean. There were five shower stalls. The showers are FREE. I was pleasantly surprised. We have always had to pay in the past. Again glamping. It was so nice to take a shower after a long hike. The sinks have HOT water. I'm telling you people it's the little things. There was five bathroom stalls, five sinks with their own mirrors and outlets for whatever. I saw someone bring in a small power strip and plug in all their electronics. In the men's bathroom my husband saw someone brewing onion soup in a crockpot lol. The bathroom also had three heaters that you could turn on. Two in the shower section and one near the sinks. Outside the bathroom was the dish washing station again HOT water. I've always dreaded washing the dishes cause my hands freeze. They have a table set up near the sink with a holed rubber mat to put your clean dishes. Love. Adjoining the front office is the laundry mat. There were about six washers and eight dryers (didn't really count). The washers were $2.50 and dryers $1.75 (I think). They do have a change machine inside. They had a folding table, a few stools to reach the top dryers and one wheeled basket. BRING YOUR OWN SOAP. They do not sell it. We checked before hand and walked across the street to the market to pick up detergent. Outside the office/laundry room is the water fill up station. Teton water is delicious! Again we've camped all over. I'm pretty sure they had a filtration system hidden behind the wall. The market/gift shop/restaurant is right across the street along with a gas station. The market sells everything you'll need. It was a pretty amazing and comfortable six nights. We will definitely stay again if we visit Tetons again. Well worth the $77/night. read more

We stayed in a camper cabin, which was pretty much what I expected: a simple, no frills place to stay. We would have been happy except for the bathroom facilities. I wasn't expecting much. We've done these kinds of places before. But, I was expecting at least a reasonable level of clean and functional. The camp bathrooms were neither. They were plain scary. As a result, we ended up using the lodge's lobby bathroom. Unless you come in an RV with your own bathroom or plan to stay at the lodge, I would recommend avoiding this place. (The tent campers, who were situated in spaces between RVs, had it much worse than us.) I would also avoid eating at the lodge. We had made other plans to eat at the chuck wagon down the road, but weren't hungry when we got to that place so we figured how bad can it be? It was that bad - way too expensive, bland and heavy with fat (which made the bathrooms a real issue). All in all a disappointment. We ended up leaving at 4am after one night's less than restful stay. Silver lining: seeing Old Faithful at dawn. read more
