I have full paralysis of one arm following a serious accident. The injury is in the spinal cord so it's irreversible. When I saw Wendy it was about 10 months post-accident and four months after being out of bed following a series of surgeries. My primary focus at that time was adapting to the changes and getting my life back, but a wrench was thrown into those works and I went to Wendy for support and solutions. She accused me of faking or exaggerating my disability for attention; lying about being married (this was profoundly bizarre); and desperately needing DBT when really what I needed was professional intervention and a legal advocate. The two sessions I had with Wendy were surreal. She was inappropriately fixated on my hair and what I was wearing, and made uncomfortable comments about my appearance, my disability, and my experiences. She demanded full records from my regular therapist (who actually did help a great deal with transitioning into disability) in a non-HIPAA compliant format and expressed anger when my therapist wasn't willing to engage. Her communication with the other therapist was not appropriate or secure and at the time I was encouraged to file a complaint with the state. I regret not doing this. If you are a woman, in an unsafe marriage, or living with a disability: please avoid Wendy. Her personal pathologies are splayed all over her work and, as the other woman reviewing her has said, the result is damage to the patient.

How I Spring Cleaned My Life…read more Seven months ago I contacted Shannon after deciding my life was at a cross roads. I was completely unhappy with my position at work and needed a new direction. I wrote her and told her what I was having problems with and that I would like to push myself out of my stuck place. At the time, I worked at the front desk of a bank and had been there for a little over three and a half years. I started my journey with Shannon and a week and a half later I was promoted to marketing coordinator. I was thrilled with my step up and thought to myself, what an interesting turn of events. My goal already met, I couldn't imagine what else would I need from her. How wrong I was. She taught me many life skills. Such as to look at the bigger picture and discover my internal voices. I had many players (internal voices) in life but my key player was intuition. I named her Radiance and have learned to call on her as well as listen and trust her. Trust me. Even though I loved my new position, I was not totally confident in what I was doing. In working through my process I discovered how disorganized I was. This did not help at work since I needed to be able to find things right away. I am also an fine artist and Shannon suggested I buy different colored folders to organize my paperwork. Not only did this help, I filed my paperwork that once sat in a pile. I also needed to organize my home, so I took two days off and organized my living space. I gave away three car loads of things to the Good Will. Anything from a TV to a non-working vacuum. I had also been unhappy with my long hair and after five years decided to cut it short. I not only looked younger, but it was a more professional look. The next step I took was to move my boyfriend out of my life, which was not easy but had to be done. The last thing I left was my job. After seven months, I knew I had done everything I could and I was grateful for everything I had learned. At start of my journey, she suggested I read The Dream Giver. It takes you on a journey of self discovery. There were several times when we would refer back to the book. During the middle of my journey I was gripped by fear and didn't want to move and she had asked what the scene looked like. The scene that came to mind was a place of burnt apple trees, minus the apples. The ground was scorched for miles. Each week I was given assignment (s) to complete and my next weeks assignment was to move to the other side. Part of the process was believing I could and then doing it. At the end of my journey the scene was no longer scary, but one of hope and choices. What I saw was an apple tree chuck full of apples and next to the tree is an open door. I have always had a choice and now I am looking for the open door to my next chapter. Shannon's coaching style is energizing, motivating and always reassuring.
