We live 45 miles from this hospital, but this was my husband's orthopedic surgeons, surgery center. Everyone is very kind and accommodating. We had to be at the hospital at 6 a.m. for 8:00 surgery. I was told 80-90 minutes. I came back at 10:30. Around 1:00 I was starting to get worried. The board said "in procedure". The front desk told me they'd find out. She said "oh, my bad, I forgot to update the board, he's in recovery and someone will come and get you in 20 minutes". At 2:15 I was brought back. The surgery took longer than expected. Hubs was discharged at 3:45. My frustration is the lack of communication. Someone could have told me they were behind. The coffee is free in the cafeteria! Parking is horrible after about 8 a.m. Dr. Katsura is super nice, spoke to us both at length and even called on a Saturday to see how things were going. I highly recommend Dr. Katsura. read more

I almost died there from from lack of nurse staff, doctor, ?, finding out that I was bleeding out after a hip replacement. It's been almost 4 years now, and I suffer daily from the damage this caused to my healing from a hip replacement. I can only walk short distances before the pain in my injured muscles, tendons, scar tissue nerve damage? makes me go home. I was going to sue, but you have to initiate this within the first year! I had Lab work with " no appointment needed". The Lab has a sign to be seated. Which I did. I waited 25 minutes......NOBODY at Reception Desk. Yet, I hear talking "back there". I stood up and said HELLO ! A lady walks out and says rudely ""I was with a patient. The sign says to sit down". I watch the exit doors. Nobody leaves. Instead what was going on ....was chit chat between those 2 ON DUTY nurses in a back room without any check on who could be waiting. Piss Poor treatment. read more

This is the closest hospital to me as I live in Cloverdale. Over the past 2 years I have been assigned to 4 different doctors. This is due to the doctors all quitting to work elsewhere. I'm not sure if I even have a doctor now. Recently I telephoned the hospital to ask what I should do for my positive Covid test. I was charged nearly $400 for making that phone call. I requested an itemized bill, as they do not tell you what you are paying for unless you request an itemization after they bill you. My request was denied and they threatened collections if I did not pay them. So, if you want to beg to find out what you are paying for, or if you don't mind playing doctor roulette, then this is the place for you. What a shame. read more

Short review incoming. Been to the Healdsburg District Hospital only a few times and each time I was very confused by the layout as it's split into several sections, sometimes for the same practice. Staff have been alright, but short to be honest. The hospital is well out of date and needs some serious TLC, which I believe they recently got though, so maybe a bit of good news. Parking is pretty straight forward though and ample for the size of the hospital, which is a nice addition. I cannot speak on the doctors much as I have literally only been a handful of times and saw a doctor for under 10 minutes, so not much to go on, but it seems this hospital is really a middle of the road visit compared to the larger conglomerates in the area. read more

My trip to Healdsburg Hospital ER: I walked in with a gash on my elbow in need of a sew-up after my bike accident. Michael (PA? nurse?) immediately put me at ease with his confidence and humor. Within minutes, the staff was attending to me. I was amazed: from check-in to treatment was about 15 minutes. Dr Deas worked on sewing me back up. He was GREAT! X-Ray techs were also very good. I was out of there before you can say, "look out for that pothole!". Now back in my hometown, my doctor commended the suture job that Dr Deas did. The medical care at this ER is excellent. We're a hispanic family and my mom had stomach pain ( stabbing pain) we walked in, registered us pretty quick but the doctor was horrible she looked annoyed she stared into the ceiling while my mom was answering the questions and I decided to stand up for her because i wasn't dealing with that the moment i started translating for my mom she decided to tell me to shut up and she said that if i don't calm down i'd have to leave. But I would give the administrative staff at both the front desk (reception) and the lab a FIVE star review for professionalism, kindness, and efficiency. If I could give no stars I would, Healdsburg ER is just for basic emergencies like stitches or a cast. Not anything else, that being said, one of my parents used to work here decades ago and I was born there when the L&B department was open. From what old coworkers have told my parent since Providence has taken over it has barreled to rock bottom. They have high turnover rates, nurses are a mixed bag. there are a handful of nice ones, but primarily rude ones. The one my mother recently had was rude and unprofessional, my mother requires someone in the room with her because of mental health issues and forgetfulness and we know her medical issues, should she forget to tell them. I followed all COVID protocols, I had a mask and my vaccination card at the ready. She threw a mini tantrum and made it clear this was an inconvenience to her. She then proceeded to complain we didn't understand COVID, to which I disclosed we did, we had the original variant and I am left with Post-Covid/ Long COVID so we understand. She then turned around and very snarkily said" well I could lose my job, I like my job". But no other nurse or doctor had a problem but her. Once my mother was in a room she then proceeded to make more unprofessional statements. My mother came in with chest pain, she told her it was likely a chest wall muscle sprain, and someone my age couldn't possibly know the pain because I'm "young and healthy". I told her I do, because I live with chronic pain despite my age. Personally, if it is within your means, just do not go to any of the hospitals in Sonoma County. The amount of medical malpractice that happened to a family member at Sutter and Providence was horrifying. My family chose not to pursue a lawsuit because my family member was gravely ill. I drive myself and my child to Stanford or UCSF, and the level of care and professionalism you get there you could never get from any of the hospitals in this area combined. All the hospitals here clearly discriminate against what kind of insurance you have. If you have Medi-cal/PHP of CA you get subpar care compared to someone with private insurance. There are too many people who work in the healthcare profession here that clearly do not care, they are just in it for the money, which compromises care. The doctors as well, there are good ones in a sea of bad ones. But they are so conceited and get offended when you ask for a second opinion because the area in which they are advising you in they do not have expertise. Whereas in Stanford or UCSF encourage you to do so or even sets you up with a doctor with an expertise in the area. They are good enough to know and have the patient well being in mind to refer you to someone else. Where at Providence and Sutter hospitals many of them get offended. I even saw a nurse practitioner at their Windsor doctor's office, who wanted to manage my psychiatric medication after explicitly being told by the doctors at the Stanford in-patient psychiatric unit I was in. That I needed to be referred to a psychiatrist and psychologist. She even tried to prescribe my mother a medication that would make her condition even worse. And I reiterate if it is within your means at all, I know it's not within everyone's means. Just avoid all hospitals in Sonoma County, go to Stanford, go to UCSF. The level of care, compassion, and professionalism I have come to expect, you will never get in any of these hospitals. Save yourself an 9+ hour ER visit and go to UCSF or Stanford. By the time they have put you in a bed here, you would seen and on your way home or admitted if needed. read more

Dr Sual a great ER doc. Had deep contusion s in my ribs. I thought I broke one. Super painful but he was really compassionate. Mike, the nurse, was funny and genuine. He took X-rays and I received them standing up instead of lying down. One time I had a similar issue and when I lied down it hurt like heck. So good for this Hospital for understanding and investing in new equipment for X-rays. Rib pain is no joke and I will be fine in a few weeks but it sure helped to have helpful medical staff to prepare you for activities with rib pain. ******************** Ok new review went to this hospital AGAIN due to a pressing issue. I was greeted with a smile some humor and a good doctor, albeit he is to the point no extra stuff as I like to give tons of detail. Dr Mead and the nurse Ian were AMAZING. I didn't feel like I was just whining or too bad I have back pain. No they took me seriously and promptly. It was a busy day too. My wife broke her leg. Went to Healdsburg Hospital ER. The break was near the ankle, but they extended the partial plaster cast to up behind the knee where the sharp! and UNWRAPPED edge of the cast cut nto the skin and would not allow her to bend her knee. They missed wrapping a portion of her heel in gauze, irritating the skin there. Once home, I had to break off several inches of the cast, wrap the sharp edge with gauze, undo the ace bandage, and insert gauze pads under the unprotected heel. If this is how Providence runs their hospitals, God help us. read more

I had to go to the Emergency Department again last month. Tried to jump from one boulder to another on the Jetty at Bodega Bay and fell very hard. Was pretty sure I had cracked my tibia (shin bone) if not much worse. I should probably restrict my attempts to catch a fish from the Jetty to daylight hours : ) The doctor on duty and my nurse were very efficient and friendly. My injury was assessed and appropriate tests were ordered and performed very quickly. I was once again very pleased with how quickly I was triaged and taken to a room for evaluation and treatment and how pleasant the doctor, nurse and allied healthcare and support staff were during my visit. This place is great if you break an arm or need stitches however recently they sent a friend of mine home saying she could have liver cancer and she should schedule a biopsy. Her stomach was distended and her skin was yellow I took her to Sutter and they admitted her into the intensive care unit immediately. She was in liver failure. Warning if you want humane treatment go somewhere other than here .the Er room is hurendiusiwouldnt let them touch my dog I went there in agonizing pain the treatment was terrible I laid there for and hour in shere pain then they said they would be in to start an IV and give me some pain medication .well they came in and said what they were gonna do .and I asked what they were giving me for pain they said adavan.adavan is used for anxiety it's not a pain medication .I'm not having anxiety and Dr said well you need to go to a urologist! I've had previous encounters with the same Dr hesaid he thought I was having or passing kidney stones .he did the same exact thing the last time I was in the ER there .last time he did the same thing adavan I said no so he gives me an I've bag filed with assidominnofin aspirin ..I have chronic liver disease,what idiot doctor in their right mind would do that .I walked out then and I walked out today in severe pain and that's how they treat the homeless people here .will never step foot on that property as long as I live and if you have awishto live don't go there the bedside manner ishorendous .I'm thinkingbof standing our front of that place with ahuge sighn saying dont come here for treatment if you want to live .the treatment is of athird world country...they should be ashamed ofvthemselves read more

I called because of excruciating pain in my ribs at 3:40 am in the morning. I simply wanted to call and seek immediate medical advice without coming in so I didn't rack in a huge bill. Within 10 seconds of a painful explanation of my situation to the first person picking up, she talks over me to say she's transferring me to a nurse. The nurse picks up and begins telling me he can't offer me help unless I come in and as im desperately exploring some way of compromise, he literally yells over me "Thaaank you!!!" And hangs up. The combined time of both calls is under 25 seconds including the transfer to the "nurse." These scumbags don't care. Even for their own residents. I just slammed some nyquil, 1 advil PM, and 3 tylanol to combat this pain. I hope I wake up tomorrow. Avoid this place. read more

Very rude staff! Dealt both with Lorene & (Mimi) Mytrang Le head of Pharmacy. Very rude very unprofessional. I came to drop off a large volume of Sharpes containers, made sure to call to confirm that they would be able to pick them up, they said yes. Was given nothing but issues & attitude when dropping of containers. My foot is injured which makes it difficult to walk & had 5 surgeries on my hands & arms & they wanted me to carry items in without any assistance. They would not bring out a cart or even wheelchair. When mimi came out with EVS to assist i got nothing but chastised & given the "we won't do this again" response. When stated that i spoke to her department regarding this ahead of time & my limitations, I was accused of lying about my injury just cause I walked 5 steps, wow! They never once told me about their said protocols, her response was "well what do you want me to do?" Really! Train your staff correctly!! What do you think! That's your job, not mine! I have everything recorded as she left me hanging on the phone, as she walked out to meet me, hands folded, no hello just barking bs! The leadership of this hospital needs a serious overhaul! Staff only acts like that when there are no repercussions for their arrogant & egotistical behavior & it reflects bad on the hospital & management! & from the multiple reviews on the rude staff, there needs to accountability! Recently went in to have a procedure done. Was there a total of 3 hours from start to finish. Admission was simple and easy. A series of nurses from the prep nurse (blood pressure IV etc) to the nurse in the procedure room were informative, thorough and friendly. Prior to being taken to the operating room the doctor stopped by and explained everything (which he had told me during a prior office visit) as well as the anesthesiologist who gave details on what was going to happen. It certainly gives one confidence and takes some of the anxiety away. During the short recovery period nurses came to check my condition and offer something to drink. Just before leaving, a nurse explained any diet restrictions I would have for the next 24 hours. Overall it was about as good as a hospital visit could be :). Hopefully we will not have any unforeseen problems with billing as a previous review stated. Will report back with a revision if I do. read more

Very disappointed with a few of the staff at HGH. I tried to deliver legal documents to an ER Nurse, and her co-workers were dishonest about her whereabouts. Why would this Nurse feel compelled to evade a Subpoena? Unprofessional and a lack of integrity on her part! I see Dr. Pope and cant say enough great things about this doctor, his office staff and the hospital. I am seeing him to help with my back pain and after many years of suffering, I am feeling much better, almost pain free! I had a RFA (Radiofrequency Procedure) that was simple and painless and it has significantly improved my back pain and has allowed me to get back on the golf course! On top of that, the hospital was amazing. The nurses were kind they called me the next day to check on me. I can't thank them enough. I highly recommend Dr. Pope and his practice, along with the Healdsburg Hospital. If I could give them 10 stars I would. read more

I personally normally love this hospital and love Dr.Faulkner and the nurses and even most of the front desk staff is friendly. I find that the night time staff is a bit friendlier but that's possibly because of Dr. Faulkner and the way she communicates with her staff. After my horrific experience on April 10th/11th, 2021 I can't say that I will be returning. Bruce Deas, MD is one of the two worst doctors that they have. Dr.Deas shows no compassion, rude, unfriendly, doesn't care if he leaves you in tears, doesn't mind sending you home in just as much if not more than you came in. I hope that you can really sleep at night Dr.Deas because thanks to you I came home in tremendous pain, throwing up become pain doesn't ease your nausea, what eases the nausea is getting rid of the pain ot the source. Beware! Decent care, nice nurses, horrible billing! They will rip you off and take advantage of a poorly regulated hospital billing industry! After about 25 messages left for their billing office, I finally got in touch with someone. Billed me for "professional services" which my insurance doesn't cover and they could not explain what the charges were for, refused to take them off my bill. There is no recourse other than suing the hospital and I don't have the money for a lawyer. read more

This is an ER review. One star for just being here and for some staff being pleasant. The doctor is cursing a storm in here and sounds very flustered. Spent 4 hours in here and all we need is antibiotics for a cat bite. Very incompetent doctor that can't seem to keep her mouth professional at all. While asking questions to us she was literally scribbling stuff on paper and after asking what my ladies profession was and we told her she wrote down WORD! Several patients complaining about the doctor and her way of speaking to them and treatment. Go to Santa Rosa at all costs but avoid Sutter down there as well. read more

I don't usually write reviews but when people's lives are at stake I think it's important. My family had a terrible experience at HDH this past week. My father is diabetic has had it under control for 6 years over the past few weeks he has progressively felt worse and worse and for the 24 hours leading up to his visit his numbers began to climb to well over 300 began experiencing intermittent episodes of shortness of breath and his BP was exceptionally high for him 160's/100's. Based off how he was feeling and acting my mother decided to take him in for some help the to the nearest which was HDH. The nurses who helped him and took him back were fantastic but once the doctor on call Dr. Wong came in and saw him it all went down hill. My mother and father both explained what was going on and the provider straight up said 'well I know nothing about Diabetes so you're out of luck' this is an ER doc who should have general knowledge as to what to do. After saying that he discussed the issue with the on call internal medicine provider who said change your diet. Dr Wong also explained that this care is standard and the explaination for how to adjust the diets is for "uneducated Hispanics who are picking grapes in the field"I was shocked by that on top of the fact that no tests were done lab work, urine nothing! Then sent him off to "feel better". This experience was horrible god help anyone who isn't going to "die in the next 15 mins" as per Dr Wongs self expressed expertise. read more

I think they dont realize that the open door and 15 feet between us and them is a sound barrier. If I could give this hospital a -50, I would! I brought my then 3.5 year old daughter into the ED. She had put a bean up her nose so to the ED we went. The woman at registration was very pleasant and helpful but that was the last pleasant, helpful person we would encounter. The nurse who came to get us was a very tall male nurse and my daughter was immediately intimated and it really didn't help that he didn't crack a smile at all. Not once! I realize it's not a pediatric hospital but COME ON. We were taken into the back to be weighed and for vitals. Going over meds, the nurse didn't even know what a fluoride supplement was for.... Next, the ED dr came in. Long story short, he went to look up my daughter's nose and didn't explain what he was doing and was VERY rough with her. And barked at me to hold her down. HE didn't even tell us what he was doing...I was confused and I know my daughter was too. She started to hyperventilate and become extremely agitated. I have never seen her like this. She began to scream and begged them to stop and that she couldn't breathe. To that, the dr yelled,"You can too breathe! Knock it off." By this time, he has PUSHED THE BEAN FURTHER UP HER NOSE! He also told me to just leave the bean up there and it would disintegrate but the ENT said that is not true and it would have caused an infection. So, we were stuck with a $680.22 bill plus another $58 bill to go to her primary plus a $647 bill for the ENT specialist we had to go to because this idiot pushed it further up. And, even worse, my daughter is now TERRIFIED of the doctor and before this she loved the doctor! Do not go to this hospital. Drive 10 more minutes to SR. And, I've called patient relations and the lady completed dismissed my complaint. I am still working on calling the medical board on the physician. He was completely unprofessional and totally inept. read more
