UPDATE: I am sharing an update to my initial review (please see below for my original review) based on a new interaction with this business, which reflects both my firsthand experience and opinions. While it is not easy to step forward and leave a negative review, particularly in light of the doctor's seemingly retaliatory actions, I feel it is important for me to do so. The response from the business owner is fairly consistent with my overall experience, in that it contains deflection and defensiveness instead of any accountability. I wish I could say that what he just posted shocks me, but seeing a combination of falsehoods as well as legally protected, private patient medical record information shared on a public forum without patient consent is perhaps what I should have expected, disappointing and harmful as it is. It actually saddens me quite a bit to continue to witness a medical doctor behave this way towards vulnerable patients who once placed their trust in him. Why deliberately inflict this kind of emotional harm on a patient when they have already been through so much being physically harmed, as well? So, not only did I get my nose botched necessitating a complete surgical revision by a top rhinoplasty expert, but now I am subjected to further unprofessional conduct with what appears to be Dr. Jacobs' attempted public humiliation of a private patient here on Yelp. This along with other remarks is arguably harassing and I believe it violates the Yelp guidelines. Also, look at my before photos, they look nothing like what was stated by him; that is absurd to suggest. I had beautiful natural ethnic nostrils and I repeatedly underscored the importance of *retaining* my bold ethnic features. I can never get them back now, as the procedure he performed is irreversible. I believe Dr. Jacobs is likely twisting a jokingly made private comment out of context in order to try to protect himself and malign me or discredit my honest review and experience. Further, at no time did he offer to surgically fix any of his mistakes, he only offered filler to try to cover up the crater he caused on the tip of my nose. It is also untrue to claim I went to see him for what he has publicly stated. Was that comment made to try to embarrass me, or are his records that inaccurately maintained? Concerning either way. Even if that particular remark were true, why would any part of my private patient medical records be shared online without my consent? Why would any medical doctor behave in this manner? I have never seen anything like it. My initial reason for meeting Dr. Jacobs is and will remain private as part of my legally protected medical records. I would urge anyone seeking out a trusted facial plastic surgeon to check credentials, read all the bad Yelp reviews, look closely at photos shared and the stories from patients, and proceed with extreme caution. Experiencing botched facial surgery is not a journey I would wish on anyone. It robs you of a life you loved. As such, if my review helps spare even one more botched patient, then sharing my experience will have been worth it. There are many wonderful, skilled, and genuinely caring surgeons out there. In conducting my research I had a mixed bag of consultations from the various doctors I selected to interview for my surgery. Dr. Jacobs came highly recommended by online search and people I know so I called for a consult but had to be placed on a wait list after setting my consult up because initially I couldn't get into Dr. Jacobs in the timeline I wanted to schedule my surgery. I originally cancelled my consult and scheduled with another doctor due to my timeline constraints but the day after my cancellation his office called me due to a cancellation in their book so they could see me in the timeline that worked for my schedule! At first I said no, but then thought maybe this was the universe's way of making it happen so I scheduled right away. Truth be told, when I went into Dr. Jacobs I was already scheduled with another doctor for my surgery, but I felt it was prudent to speak to all the doctors on my list. I was wowed by his team. The professionalism I experienced at the center exceeded my other consults by leaps and bounds. The team took extensive photos (like 15) that they use on day of surgery on a board for reference from ALL angles and facial expressions. He was kind and fantastic to make sure I understood what he planned to do in surgery. His explanation was technical but broken down enough in layman's terms so I fully understood what I was signing up for. I was impressed with his breadth of experience and knowledge. It felt the most in depth out of all my consults and I felt he "got it" when I was in there as far as what I was looking for. I never gave a "this is what I want" discussion. Our discussion was centered more around what I didn't want anymore. I focused with him on what I didn't like and why I was there as I felt that was more prudent than bringing a random photo to mimic. He gave me exactly what I asked for! I was clear I didn't want to do this again, I didn't want my nose to collapse on my face like Michael Jackson, and I wanted natural results. I wasn't ashamed of how I look; I just wanted it more in harmony with the rest of my face. My results are natural, fit perfectly with my face and feel great. I wasn't sure at first if I loved my results because it wasn't a huge transformation like I would have expected pre-surgery, but in the end he gave me everything I asked for and I think it takes a true artist to make the changes he did and keep it natural. I don't look like I had work done and I think that is the greatest skill to achieve. Most people just tell me how great I look and don't realize that the difference in my appearance. I have shot Bad Company, Joe Perry Aerosmith, Howard Lease from Heart and so on. I haven't worked since this, I am a recluse. I am devastated. I asked for part of my money back so I could get this crap corrected. Jacobs not only refused the money, attacked me and my skin care, and then had the nerve to accuse me of Blackmail and that he would take appropriate measures against me when I said in last note to him that maybe I should accept one of the invitations we all get from them for his face lift plastic surgery seminars and show up for people to see. He accused me of blackmail!!!?? And threatened to take measures against me? Like what? Having me beat up? Sending someone to deal with me? Call the cops? Get a lawyer to attack me? No photo shop. Nothing on my passport picture I don't wear face makeup but I do the self tan lotions. No sun spots, no wrinkles. No damage. Just wanted to get ahead of the wrinkle scene. I will post his pictures of me before next. Devastated. My smile and face are everything in my business. Also one eye now is half the size of the other. I cry everyday. I asked for 1/2 of money back. He refuses. Even my skin texture is bad now. Nose worse. Stretch mark wrinkles on each side of mouth. I am 64 years old and was very happy with my face and skin. Wanted to do preventive. He isn't a perfectionist He's a con. He should have said no I can't do it for the reasons he said when he attacked me in email. Younger women he can probably do some satisfactory, but he is a rolling money machine. Claims he wants to learn from his mistakes in his profile on his site and yelp. What did he learn from me? He also says in profile he wants to become the best plastic surgeon in the country. Well he has ruined my career, my life, and my self confidence. My nostrils are different sizes, left side of face is worse than right. I am gutted.there is such a thing as patients rights. Get to know them. Especially if your forking our cash. $22,000 here. An ear nose and throat specialist no less. And I found out it's really dangerous to have doctors do these kinds of heavy surgeries should be in a hospital. Especially if something goes wrong. My oncologist, dermatologist, my primary doctors were shocked he did this knowing that and never bothered to check out my health records. He knew I had health problems. Like a stage four melanoma survivor. They said it could have really gone bad. Every one of them. They were all Flabbergasted. Jacobs told me he is known for having to correct a nip and tuck here and there if not satisfactory. Begged him he offered fillers. All of my doctors at Stanford and my other dermatologist/cosmztogists were literally stunned. After he did this I got a bad allergic reaction to my lips. Swelled and raw all the way around and outside lips. I told him to line my lips so nothing would happen as I have seen before. He didn't. That's why my upper lip got those wrinkles. He laughed and said his wife always got that and gave me amoxicillin. I had a deadly allergic reaction. Went into anaphylactic attack which has never happened to me. My lips, tongue and throat throat swelled shut. Now I am being treated for it. It caused my immune system to go down very low. Being a stage 4 cancer survivor. He should have checked this out. If I had gone into an attack at some time while he was doing surgery what could he have done in that set up? I could have died. Now I am fighting infections and immune deficiency which is not curable. Dangerous. Maybe he should stick with ear nose and throat. Devastating. Tacky tacky con. Go to a professional with high credentials from well known credentials that use a hospital to do this. In case of emergency. This is a back room job. And this is my second review. Wow, Talk about amazing patient support. It's about 3.5 months since my facelift and the results keep getting better and better. Dr. Jacobs' Center has seen me twice for followups, making sure everything is going according to plan. Over the course of 3 years (2 pre-Covid & 1 during) I met with three different cosmetic surgeons to explore their thoughts & costs of doing a neck lift, possibly some fill around my mouth & chin area, various peels & maybe a face lift. I got 3 very different opinions, approaches and costs. Dr. Jacobs was the third surgeon I met with & the one I ultimately chose for his unique approaches, how completely natural his clients look post-surgery (a much improved version of themselves), his warm personality, sense of humor & professionalism. His staff is also responsive and lovely. I wanted to test the water, so initially we began with some filler around my mouth and chin area. I liked the results but ultimately knew I'd need more work done to achieve the overall appearance I was after. My neck still had a crêpe paper look to it since we hadn't done anything with it yet, and I had become more aware that my jowls were now drooping (I had recently turned 61 yrs. old). Dr. Jacobs recommended doing his Serial VectorLift along with a TCA peel at the same time, to help resurface my skin, remove sun damage & boost my collagen. This is what I ultimately had done and I'm SO ecstatic that I did. I'm almost 3 weeks post-surgery and am thrilled with the results, but I even looked great after just 2 weeks post-surgery. I still look like me but several years younger. I'm now me, 2.0. I have been to Dr. Jacobs office for many treatments including botox and Kybella. Lisa has done my botox and it has always turned out beautifully. I also received 3 Kybella treatments last year. The results are phenomenal! I am a relatively fit person and I was frustrated by my minor double chin. I just wanted a defined jawline. Kybella is a treatment that you have to have faith in because it doesn't work immediately, it's about the longterm, permanent results. Since getting it done early last year, my jaw line is more defined than ever, even after having a baby this year. I love the way my profile looks and it is really noticeable in pictures. I had a rhinoplasty by Dr. Jacobs 13 years ago and after years of suffering with a crooked nose and breathing problems and sinus infections, I finally found a Dr. willing to correct the mess he left behind. Let me back track to my issues right after my surgery with Dr. Jacobs in Santa Rosa. Right away I wasn't very happy with the results but he kept saying it takes a year to heal. Whenever I told him at my post op visits the tip was crooked and I had some weird cartilage sticking out the right side tip of my nose, his reply was to massage it and wait a year. Well, it never went away and over the years became worse. After moving to Southern California a couple of years after he operated on me, my husband said I should just go back and have him fix it. I was too scared and pissed off to let him touch my nose again. So I lived with the crooked nose and uneven profiles. Over the years I went to several other doctors in So Cal and all were apprehensive to do my revision without knowing exactly what he did first and said they needed my surgical records. I also had a small, hard lump that would come and go on the top of the bridge of my nose. It wasn't until my current ENT sent me to have a CT scan that it was discovered that it was a bone fragment left behind from my rhinoplasty all these years! I have been suffering for years with sinus infections and breathing problems on one side and I had no idea until recently that it was because I still had a deviated septum! How can you go on TV and talk about nose structure and how important it is when you never fix it on your own patient?? I finally had my revision done and my septum is now straight, the floating bone fragment is removed, my tip is no longer pointing off to the side. My revision was extensive and also the reason why I decided after all these years to post regarding his work. I was shocked when the doctor told me after surgery what the inside of my nose looked like and how things were stitched together and how much grafting he had to do to correct it. I am amazed at how beautiful my nose is now after all these years and more importantly, I can finally breath! Do your research, take your time, and don't fall for all his promises. I was going to Dr. Jacobs office for Botox seems simple enough. The first hiccup is that they charge you for the entire syringe whether you use it or not so of course I used it and I loved it the first time it smooths the Find lines around my eyes and got rid of the crinkle between my eyes woo hoo! The second hiccup was the second time I got Botox it didn't seem to work the fine lines were still there and the crinkle between my eyes was most definitely still there .I called after two weeks and got no response I called again after another week and was told sometimes it takes a while to set. It never did really set the second time . I don't know about you but when I'm paying $360 every four months for Botox I expected to set and if it doesn't I expect them to do it again for free which was never offered. So I found somewhere else to get it done. I also felt like the office staff was less than helpful and treated me like I had no right to be complaining. read more

Please BEWARE of this man. I had to have a rib removed, part of my ear and scalp to repair my face after a very unsuccessful surgery by Mr Jacobs, and a forced injection of kenalog by Mr Jacobs. After 2 1/2 years of suffering I was able to have a revision done by DR Rollin Daniel. I was told by several surgeons that Mr Jacob's work was the worst surgery that they had ever seen. I had a partial face-lift (lower) and nose refinement done awhile back by Dr. Jacobs. While my profile is greatly improved, I have very visible scars in front of my ears and under my chin. The scars are very white and can be seen easily. They show every stitch plus the incision line. I wasn't expecting that and feel it could have been made clearer. Overall, I was pleased with the experience, but the scars are disappointing. Maybe they use superglue or steri-strips now. ??? So I was initially weary in having a rhinoplasty, and I was referred to Dr. Jacobs through one of his former patients, my cousin, that had the same procedure done and turned out looking absolutely beautiful. Now, I am at the final stage of recovery, and I am so beyond satisfied with the quality of my entire experience, that I simply must share it. I knew that if I was going to do this, I wanted the best of the best, and I'm going to tell you all why Dr. Jacobs is it. Firstly - Dr. Jacobs and his staff - absolutely incredible. I have never been made to feel more supported and cared for by a medical staff as I have here. I had to move my surgery from June 23rd to July 21st due to a cough, and Dr. Jacobs was FAR more reassuring as to what the cough was and what I could do about it than any of the physicians I had visited before talking to him about it (which, in my desperation, totaled three), who simply told me they had no idea what it was and sent me on my merry way. This, to me, was a sign of general competence as a doctor. Apart from that, as a surgeon, he's phenomenal. A surgeon of his artistic touch, eye for detail, and all around high caliber is rare. Very rare. He is truly very knowledgable and very considerate of his patient, and I could tell just by speaking to him that he knows very well exactly what he's doing (just look at his credentials). My nose is still pretty swollen at this stage, but even so I am extremely satisfied with it. It is in much better harmony with the rest of my features than it was before, particularly in that it makes my round face look more slender, feminine, and it accentuates my cheek bones. And what I really appreciate most about all this is that Dr. Jacobs' work came out very natural, with the necessary corrections to nature's errors. I've never felt more beautiful. *** As for what I'm sure prospective patients are worried about - preparing for surgery, the surgery itself, and the recovery - below is how my experience went. *** Pre-Surgery: Two weeks prior to surgery, there are a number of things you are not supposed to do and medications you are not supposed to take. Given that I had a terrible cough which started out as a tickle in my throat, I thought I had allergies and then a cold, which led me to have a lot of questions. I was calling the office nearly every day, and the staff was extremely patient with me every time. Not once did I feel rushed or feel like I was asking a stupid question, they were very kind to me and understanding of my worried state. I even spoke with Dr. Jacobs on a number of occasions during this time, and while his staff and nurses were more than capable of answering my questions, I was very appreciative to have this access to him. Surgery day: I was made to feel extremely comfortable at the office. Being nervous before surgery is absolutely natural, and his staff is clearly well versed on taking care of patients during this time. The atmosphere was very peaceful, and I was kept in full awareness of everything that was going on. As a result I felt very, very confident in the fact that everyone there knew exactly what they were doing. This helped with my anxiety. I was initially worried about pain from the IV in my arm, about feeling the procedure and being conscious during it (because Dr. Jacobs uses IV sedation), but I felt absolutely no pain whatsoever and I slept deeply like a baby. Dr. Jacobs was the last person I saw before falling asleep and the first person I saw upon waking up from surgery. I took two tylenols immediately after surgery and that was the extent of my need for pain killers. I needed none after that. Recovery: I didn't believe my cousin when she told me how easy her recovery was, I thought for sure that she must have had a simpler procedure than me, and that mine would be much worse because there was "more to do", so to speak. The recovery was a breeze from the moment I woke up to the moment I got my cast off. The most difficult part was changing the pads under my nose, and even that was only slightly tedious, not actually 'difficult', and I only had to do that for about a day. I expected to have a giant cast and ball of gauze on my face like I'd seen on the internet - I had one tiny plastic cast. I expected bruising - there was NONE! I expected to be congested for weeks - I could breathe after the surgery. I expected pain - there was no pain to speak of. I expected complications - there were none. I'm certainly no surgeon, but I truly believe that my positive recovery experience is a result of the high quality of Dr. Jacobs' work. So there! I'm two weeks post-op now and, with the exception of slight numbness in the tip of my nose, I'm back to feeling completely normal, like I didn't have a surgery at all! Had a Mini Lift with Dr. Jacobs, after attending several of his lectures on Plastic Surgery. Having known other surgeons before and much research, he is one of he best I have found. He is deeply committed to his work and is on top of the most advancements in his field. He will not try to sell you on anything, but will seriously consider your best options for the ultimate result towards your concerns. He has an office in San Francisco and in Healdsburg and being that I am in San Rafael, it has been convenient for me. I was happy to know that my procedure was done in his offices and I was able to go home a few hours after. I healed easily, with no pain and my results are what I wanted, smoother and natural looking, not super stretched out. I did not need an anesthesiologist, just local or did I need to go to a Hospital, bringing costs down. His fees, compared with other top Cosmetic Surgeons, are very reasonable. read more

After I got the surgery quote, I never felt pressured into having the surgery. Dr. Jacobs is professional in objectively discussing potential improvements that can be made using surgery and is clearly an expert. I ended up with a rhinoplasty and chin implant to balance out my features. I could not be happier, I am over the moon! Where do I begin, and how do I say it all without a really long review? Day 32 after Dr. Jacob's synergy facelift, and I am 100% pleased with the result so far. First, I am 68, and got the face I deserved in part from 20 years of smoking, even though I stopped that habit over 30 years ago. So in addition to the usual sags and turkey neck, I had deep vertical lines above my upper lip. Even though I am just beginning the journey to the final look, I can already see that many years have been erased from my face. I have been able to go out and feel fine about people seeing me for a couple of weeks now. I use a tinted sunscreen to cover the slight redness that remains from the dermabrasion around my mouth, and otherwise, no makeup. I have always had a certain lack of symmetry to my face (the 2 sides a bit different) and to my complete surprise and utter delight, I can see this been corrected to a large extent by the facelift. Dr Jacob's work, as far as I am concerned, borders on artistic genius. After having him assure me my "before and after" pictures would not be used without my permission, I just may insist that he use them. I think the contrast will be striking, and may reassure others about undertaking this kind of surgery. I could not recommend this talented doctor more highly. read more

Had a good experience with Dr. Jacobs and botox but when I went back to buy some products the receptionist was SO rude! I walked in and waited in the waiting area at the Healdsburg location for a few minutes until a lady came out and told me they were on their lunch break and to come back at 1:00. I had just walked there and asked if I could just purchase something real quick and her reply was, with an attitude "Well you can but you would be interrupting my lunch" I do not go to this place to get and pay for top quality facial products to be talked to like I am inconveniencing the staff. And on top of that a lady came in right after me who the receptionist knew and she was happy to help her even though on her "lunch break". Rude. I will be looking for a new place to buy my products. read more
