The past 15 years of my life have been difficult; I have been suffering with chronic bloating,…read moremigraines, eczema and constipation. All of this profoundly affected my quality of life on a daily basis. I was hospitalized during this time because of diverticulitis (which was caused by the constipation). During my FOUR day hospital stay, 2 different surgeons came in to tell me that they would need to remove parts of my colon if the infection didn't respond to the IV antibiotics. During this stay, my prominent and well respected GI Doctor, also came to check on me. In talking, she mentioned that she sees a large number of postmenopausal woman, in her practice that are suffering from the same symptoms and chronic constipation. When I asked her what she thought the connection was between the hormonal changes and GI issues? She simply stated that she "does not know" and did not offer any other solutions besides to increase my Fiber and water intake, which I was already doing. This was a turning point for me in realizing that the Traditional medical system is far more comfortable talking about doing something that is as drastic as surgery, rather than understand and treat the underlying cause of symptoms. It was not until I discovered Dr. Laurie Goldman that I learned there IS a way to understand and treat the underlying cause. She immediately relieved me of the chronic constipation and began attacking the underlying issues, which improved my daily life significantly. Through her expertise, supplements and working with her team I am discovering a new way of managing my health. I feel empowered going forward that my health is in my hands and not being dictated to me. Melissa Decal performed the Reiki session for me…read more IT WAS AN AMAZING EXEPRIENCE! Let me tell you a story real quick... For the past 6 years ago, I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Hypersomnia. What that means is everyday I wake up feeling groggy and sleepy. No matter how much sleep I get, what my diet is, how I exercise, I'm always sleeping. It literally feels like there's a signal that stops at my neck, going to my brain where my brain pretty much feels clogged up and inactive. I used to get by with ProVigil (like adderalll) and energy drinks. I didn't know what to expect from my Reike experience with Melissa... but her conviction with how she spoke to me combined with her comforting voice made this session unforgettable. In the beginning she made sure that I was completely comfortable, and even ask me if I wanted to pray for something.. which to me, got me to feel more open and free to accept Reiki.
