I had a massage with Evelyn at Palmleaf and it was amazing!! She is kind, caring, incredibly thorough and adept at numerous techniques. She truly listens and then structures the time to expertly address problem areas. She combined some breath work with her trigger point skills, explaining and communicating with me throughout the massage. I had a pretty disappointing experience here. I booked a massage for 4:00 PM (I did make it day of but with plenty of time for confirmation and no policy stating this isn't accepted) and arrived early, but no one was at the front desk and no one ever came out to greet me. After waiting 20 minutes, I called customer service, who mentioned that maybe the therapist hadn't refreshed their calendar and said they'd call me back. After waiting another 14 minutes with still no update, I called again and asked for a refund because I was tired of just sitting there with no communication. It was frustrating to have set aside time for something I was really looking forward to, only to leave without receiving the service. Hoping this was a one-time miscommunication, but it didn't leave the best impression. They ended up giving me a refund. read more

I am not sure why this place got a raving review based on my massage session with Roma today. Let me say this up front, I never had a massage that left me in more pain afterwards. This is actually impressive considering I was being rubbed in a mint lotion for 60 minutes while she talked non-stop. I would be okay with the talking if she didn't need to talk with her hands. Yet, I was not once asked if the pressure was right and whether I was cold.... and I was freezing and had to tell her to turn up the temperature in the room or give me a warmer blanket. I also softly suggested she could use a bit more pressure but she insisted her pressure is just right because she needs to relax my muscles.... Needless to say, this will be my first and last visit. My massage chair at home does a better job. read more

This place is fantastic! I have been going to PalmLeaf Massage on and off for over 2 years. It's not on and off because of the service, it's because life gets busy and time for an amazing massage becomes limited. The most important thing about our new reality - Ramon, Julie, and Ron all takes COVID safety protocols serious! They take your temp & you sanitize before entering the staff area where the massage magic happens! Masks are worn by the staff. They drape they face cushion carefully so I can enjoy my massage face down without a mask on. The rooms are nice & smells relaxingly clean, but not with that awful medical scent. Hubby and I have no problems getting appointments together at the same time. Not the same room, but at the same time. They have the convenience of being able to make appointments & prepaying online! My recent massage was with Ron and it was so freaking amazing! I walked out feeling like a melting bowl of Jello! He listened to me, asked where I was achy and needed extra attention, and asked what I do for work. Ron checked in to make sure the pressure was enough and really flexed my muscles well! He massaged my neck and shoulder blades (who knew!) so well, I felt incredibly relaxed! I cannot say enough good thing about getting a massage here. Julie is amazing also. She uses the right amount do pressure, checks in to make sure it's not too much, and finds knots I didn't know were there. My husband walked out feeling like melted jello too. So... as hesitant as I am to leave this positive review because it will mean less openings for us to be able to choose from, I can't hold back and not share how great PalmLeaf is for an incredible relaxing massage! read more

I started my acupuncture journey with Samantha in July of this year as I had heard that this could help with IVF treatment for fertility. I did research online and found that Samantha may be the most impactful based on her experience. After my first visit with her, I knew I had made the right choice as she made me feel at ease right away. I explained to her my journey dealing with infertility and she was truly engaged in that conversation and making sure this would assist in that journey. Well I can say that after months of prepping for IVF treatment (egg retrieval, all the hormonal treatments, and ultimately egg transfer) I can say that acupuncture truly helped me in some way as I am now 3 months pregnant! Acupuncture provided me a relaxation I had not felt in a long time. I'd walk in on edge from a stressful day at work to then walking out decompressed and ready for bed. My sleep has improved overall and Samantha has even been helping recently with nausea pressure points that I also believe have helped me during this first trimester. I've seen Diane for almost a year and she is an absolutely amazing massage therapist This is a review for the atrocious customer service I have received (or haven't). I am a member here so I get monthly massages. One time, I changed it to a 90 min massage. They took a credit AND charged me for the 90 min massage (so basically charged me for two massages when I got one). This happened in August. I emailed about it in September and was told it was corrected. Then rechecked my account and realized I was lied to. Try to contact them again in January. Then February. Then March. And still I have not been contacted nor has the issue been corrected. After referring others to the practice and being a year long member (and getting massages here since 2014), I am deeply disappointed with the lack of customer service. read more

To start off, Ramon was extremely helpful in getting the appointment set up. I was so lucky to be able to have an appointment within a day or two of contacting them. I can see why this place is rated so highly because they are professionals all the way. Very peaceful office, great communication, and the best massage that I have ever had. Ron told me everything he was doing, the different muscle groups, and when to alert him if he wasn't applying enough pressure, or if it felt like too much. Total waste of an hour's session+ tips - I was quite disappointed with the outcome of my first time here - I wish I get refunded or get another session that actually addresses what I really came for. I came for a sports massage as I am avid runner and while filling out the client form, I had explicitly mentioned that I am a runner and asked for focus on my sore/tight calves and pain in shin and lower back. When I met the therapist, I said exactly the same things and told him I needed attention on my sore calves/shin. He said he was going to take care of me and proceeded to spend 90% of the time on my upper body and close to zero attention to my calves/lower - at least no deep tissue or pressure points for my lower - except plantar which wasn't an issue for me. I mentioned this several times during the massage that I need my calves looked at but didn't get it. Now I felt really cheated into paying an hour for something that I didn't need attention to like plantar and spine pressure point therapy and back and neck which were never my issues and problem areas. Bottom line, I didn't get the massage for the area of my body that I came for even after filling the client form with details and telling the therapist multiple times during my session. And to top it off, I was also pressured into leaving a $20 tip. To be fair, this is not a review of the therapist and the quality of the massage but more about hearing the client's needs and addressing what they came for in the first place. This clinic is amazing and I am so glad I found this place. It really is a "clinic" because I always feel much better after service. I've been having massages regularly for 6 years and tried different LMTs across several states, so I am very picky with who works on me. I've had Ramon and Tom before and they're both really good - you can tell they have experience and take their practice seriously (which isn't something I can say for a lot of LMTs I've tried). Ramon is the owner and he had a deep knowledge of anatomy, and was able to work out a lot of knots that I accumulated from running with poor form and neck, shoulder, and lower back issues from my sedentary job. I felt really loose and flexible after. Tom also knows anatomy and is very thorough when working on your specific issues, and is able to put just enough pressure to release the tightness and knots on your muscles and joints without leaving you sore. I moved to Chicago from the suburbs but I still drive out here because once you find a good LMT, try to stick to them because it's like rolling dice while trying to find an LMT who fits your style and needs - even if they have good reviews from other clients. read more

This place is amazing and I tell all my friends to go. Every single therapist knows exactly what they are doing and listen to any issues you may have. I strained my back and was limping for almost two weeks. I went once to Ramon and I never had that issue again. I follow up with maintenance as needed. I have also had Roberto who is just as good. He listened to all the issues I had and got all of the knots out of my shoulders. I will continue to go back. Fantastic massage. I sat on a broken chair for 2-3 weeks at work without realizing it and developed lower back pain and knots to the point it was difficult to just stand up and I only felt fine when laying down. I made this appointment to get some relief and see if I can get some knots taken care of. I had a 90-minute massage with Ron who worked on me all over. I got a good amount of attention to my lower back and my upper back (which also has some pain due to the tics I have). He worked on my entire body and found knots that I didn't even know I had. It was definitely painful but in a good way as to release the knots, I had that were causing me pain in my daily life. I am looking forward to coming back soon to continue working on the bigger and stubborn knots that can't be dealt with in 1 session. read more

Updating my review to just say how much I love my massages at Palm Leaf. I now see Roberto for massages about every 4-5 weeks and it helps me so much with my neck and shoulder stiffness, aches, and pains. Roberto always asks what areas I need to focus on, and checks in with me throughout the massage to make sure I am comfortable as he works through my muscles (I have a lot of knots and I want him to dig those things out. It's totally worth it!). I feel lighter and taller when I leave every massage with him! I highly recommend this clinic. They often have massage deals with I purchase regularly. The clinic is clean and inviting. Your body needs a massage from this place...trust me! I have also had a massage with Brendan and he is great too.
