Coming from Boston, MA, I starting seeing Dr. Terry after experiencing chronic autoimmune issues for 3+ years. In the fall of 2020 I came down with debilitating symptoms out of nowhere that mimicked Lyme Disease. After weeks, months of feeling defeated and visiting every type of doctor out there without a diagnosis, rhyme or reason I was in debilitating pain to the point where I was unable to function with daily activities. My husband would have to help me move around the house, get me set up at my work station for the day. There were worse days than others and the most debilitating was the joint inflammation and severe fatigue. I felt completely defeated as not specialist, no amount of bloodwork and no consults would provide answers or relief. All I could count on was getting relief from steroids after visits to the ER from a flare up. I decided I would pursue acupuncture for pain and upon coming across Terry's practice I was a little more hopeful. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1988 and have been receiving acupuncture by Terry for the past 15 years. I was referred to her by my retiring acupuncturist at the time. She has kept me feeling well and balanced which is hard to do with this disease but she manages to treat anything MS throws my way. So much more than expected, as usual! Here is another word of praise for the amazing work that Terry has helped me with, especially in these challenging days. Last week I was in for a session as I have been working through the top 15 (NAET protocol) and was coming for the Calcium mix treatment. My usual sessions also address some of my symptomatic issues that she helps with that include my frozen shoulder (which she has so greatly helped) and last year's retinal hemorrhage - which my eye doctor has mentioned that I continue the acupuncture as it has helped make tremendous improvements. During the session as Terry was muscle testing me on what I needed she found an issue that I knew about and been trying to bury, which was that I have been PETRIFIED by the coronavirus. It took a number of tries but with Terry's guidance I worked through a "previous generation" issue where my grandmother who died in the 1918 flu epidemic came to me to tell me all will be well if I continue to take care of myself. We went to Healing Roots Acupuncture when my daughter was diagnosed with functional neurological disorder. Terry and Healing Roots Acupuncture have been a blessing! My symptoms were acute and debilitating. I had a painful and unsightly skin condition that was exacerbated by emotional stress. At its worst the skin on my hands was swollen and inflamed for weeks at a time. It was painful to bend my fingers. I was severely depressed. It was painful to use my hands for everyday activities including my favorite hobby: cooking. I wore gloves not only to cook, but also in public to hide the sight of my hands and I avoided shaking hands with anyone. Before treatments with Terry, I was merely existing. I had no optimism about the future. I was just living day to day, not making any plans or long-term goals. I've suffered from headaches almost all my life, typically 5 to 7 a week and an occasional (4x/year) migrane. I've tried various prescriptions, chiropractors, and acupuncture. Nothing provided lasting results. These headaches could appear anytime and last anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Typically I would take anywhere from 600-800mg of Ibuprofin or Excedrin Migrane every 2-4 hours combined with a cold compress until the pain subsided. I installed special lighting in my office at work to help with the light sensitivity I would experience when having an especially bad headache and tried various vitamin supplements. I tried avoiding foods like bananas and chocolate, but this didn't seem to affect the frequency or intensity. The treatments I received from Terry would sometimes use acupuncture, sometimes use NET, and often both. Often the pain would be cut in half within 5-10 minutes of the start of the treatment and be down to zero by the end of the session. After several sessions, the frequency started to reduce. As of today I am happy to report I'm now down to 2-3 headaches/month, which is UNHEARD OF and I haven't had a migrane (knock on wood) for more than six months. I continue to see Terry because she's confident we can reduce this even further; she says, "zero is the goal". I am delighted, as prior to this I had little hope of a headache free life. Under Terry's care I must have spent about $1000+ using Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques a.k.a. NAET. I did not notice any change or improvement what so ever in my allergy condition or hives. I writing this to caution people with high expectation, as I had. It didn't work for me after a long period of treatment and I do not recommend it as a cure or treatment, I think this is mostly a phycological experiment if anything. I liked Terry and this is not personal, but my advise remains against it. read more
