I found Medford Chiropractic through Yelp and I am so happy I did! I have only been going for a few weeks and already feel a difference in my chronic back pain. The doctors really take their time with you and listen to how you are feeling. I had a TMJ problem that became acute very quickly to the point that I could not chew. I saw Dr. Berg for this and it was amazing after 2 adjustments and some trigger point therapy, I was 80% better. It continued to improve with each treatment. I have never had this much success with any treatment for TMJ, but getting better so quickly was amazing. She is an amazing practitioner. All the doctors are knowledgeable, caring and attentive and the staff is very friendly. If there is a wait, it is because they will spend as much time with you as your body needs, this is not a one-treatment-fits-all assembly line chiro, and that is what makes it great. read more

They do not send email receipts for the fee's they charge you. It seems that the accounting has a problem . Being a DAV, I am entitled to deduct the fee from my taxes. I have to remind the office multiple times to send a receipt. They owe receipts from March 2026 to September 2026. read more

As a patient who had been loyal and dependent on the care at Medford Chiropractic for over 7 years, I write this review now to express my utmost disappointment in this practice. When I started here in 2018, the staff, such as Nancy, were supportive, efficient, and polite in all communications. The providers, particularly Dr. Diane Sofia, cared deeply about patients and used expert training and patient communication skills to respond to physical needs. On a weekly basis, for the first 5 years, I was brought pain relief under Medford Chiropractic's care, allowing me to partake in rigorous athletics training. However, when the practice changed ownership sometime (to the best of my knowledge) around 2023, and long-time staff and providers left the practice, the care quality began to change significantly. I was slow to notice the decline because I was seeing Medford Chiropractic less frequently between 2023-early 2025. However, when I returned to the practice for regular visits in May 2025, I was dismayed at the lack of support and professionalism. The office staff, even after having my insurance information for several weeks, was slow to verify the amount owed and requested that I pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket and wait for reimbursement. However, I am in frequent communication with my insurance provider and know this amount to be severely inconsistent with my plan's benefits. Because the staff was insistent, I stayed in the office after my appointment to get my insurer on the line to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, this was not the end of insurance related issues that Medford Chiropractic created; though there were no changes in my insurance policy, which should have afforded me ample medical visits, in the Fall of 2025 Medford Chiropractic alerted me I was running out of appointments. I communicated with Medford Chiropractic on the issue and conferred with my insurance company, who explained that Medford Chiropractic was billing with physical therapy codes, thereby limiting my number of appointments per year. I was informed by my insurer that this could be resolved with a renewed authorization. On 10/6/25, my insurance company put me on hold while they called Medford Chiropractic and allegedly extended the authorization on file. However, when, on 11/24/25 I had not received communication from Medford Chiropractic on the resolution of any insurance issues, I spoke with Audrey from Medford Chiropractic on the phone, who alleged that she could not see the new authorization on file but encouraged me to schedule an appointment regardless because it would "probably go through." As a graduate student with no income and no verification from Medford Chiropractic that more appointments would be covered, this was an unacceptable option for me. I asked Audrey if she could please reach out to my insurer directly and get back to me, which she said she would after the Thanksgiving holiday. After several weeks post-Thanksgiving of waiting, I took the initiative to call Medford Chiropractic. I called the practice 4 times during regular business hours - twice at different points of the day on 12/10/25, and once each on 12/16/25, and 12/17/25. Each time, my calls went to voicemail, where I left detailed information with a callback request. I know the practice received my communications because I received immediate automated apology text messages promising prompt assistance. I further know that the practice maintains my correct contact info on file because they have sent emails and texts about office operations updates as recently as today. However, the practice has yet to reach out to resolve the insurance limitations that they themselves, by their conduct of billing with physical therapy codes, have caused. Meanwhile, my physical condition has been deteriorating such that I am in constant and worsening pain. If Medford Chiropractic is unable to offer me the decency of communication and care that I require, I must turn elsewhere. read more

After suffering 9 months with pain at about a 9 on the pain scale. I went to see Dr Jon Horvath. My first appt was awesome. He LISTENED!! When I remembered thing during the appt he WANTED TO HEAR THEM. Finally a Dr who listens. I did not expect treatment the first appt but he recognized the severe pain I was in and said " I can't leave you like this". Took me into a treatment room and that kick started my recovery. 2 hours later the pain went COMPLETELY away. My next appt was with Dr Sofia. Again, she LISTENED and worked on my back to relieve my pain. @ hours later my back self adjusted from her work. My third appt was again with Dr Horvath. I worked on my again and I feel soooooooo much better. I will be continuing my care here as long as I can. They are wonderful here. Even the receiptionist, McKenzie is so nice and helpful. I was treated at Medford Chiropractic for about half a year in 2008-2009. I mostly saw Dr. Andrew Keehn. I liked: the practitioners were caring, the staff was friendly, treatment included massage/trigger point therapy before the spinal manipulation, they gave me exercises to do on my own to help with healing, Dr. Keehn was happy to give notes of medical necessity for my workplace and insurance, they didn't seem to subscribe to some of the more fringe chiropractic theories (spinal manipulation to treat allergies / cancer / etc), they considered health as a whole (articles posted about healthy eating, exercise, etc). I didn't like: 1. About half the time I visited, there was a fairly long wait - sometimes in the waiting room, sometimes once I had a treatment room. I quickly learned to bring a book. 2. The entire practice felt pervaded with a "make sure you come back" attitude. It was never hard-sell, but everything - down to the posters on the walls - seemed geared towards encouraging clients to return for more treatment. 3. Their attitudes towards chiropractic treatment seemed to be typical for the field. [I'd been hoping to find a strongly evidence-of-science based chiropractor, rather than one which subscribed to subluxation theory, "maintenance" manipulations (in the absence of injury or pain) as essential for good health, etc.] My back did slowly heal, but it's unclear to me what combination of [chiropractic, massage, physical therapy/exercise, time] caused that, so I can't say one way or the other how effective their manipulation is. read more

I love this place! After pulling my back out again, they got me back up and running in no time. They even fit me in as an emergency appointment the day I called (thank goodness--I was in bad shape!). After a bad experience at a different chiropractor (too weird and experimental), it was great coming here to a place where the doctors know what they're doing. My treatment always starts with the electro-therapy, and then one of the three great docs comes in and does the spinal manipulation. They all have different styles, so I recommend trying them all out to see who's the best fit for you. Also, they offer workshops on how to learn their trigger-point therapy. My boyfriend and I attended and have used the skills we learned many times. Very helpful, and also FREE! To address the wait time issue (from Rob R.), it's just like any other doctor's office. I've walked in and had to wait (maybe 25 minutes at the most), but I've also walked in and not even sat down in the waiting room because they were already ready for me! I find that Monday and Friday afternoons are really busy, so if you can't wait long, don't book appointments then. I definitely recommend this place, and am so glad to have found them! read more

This is more than just a chiropractic center. They actually ALL CARE! I have been going off and on for more than a year, am a single mom and are beyond accommodating when I have to cancel or bool last minute or bring my kids. Yesterday I got a call because they were genuinely concerned about my kids since I had to cancel due to getting called into the school to pick up my daughter unexpectedly . I love Medford Chiropractor Center! The office staff is friendly and courteous and the doctors are miracle workers. I never had back pain until I had a sudden case of sciatica. I went to my primary, who prescribed medication and then PT. It helped some with the sciatica pain, but I was still experiencing lower back pain along with numbness and tingling. I decided to give a chiropractor a try and found Medford Chiropractor Center on Yelp. From the moment I walked in the office, I felt that they could help me. They did a very thorough examination including X-rays and put together a care plan. I couldn't believe the difference in my pain level and the numbness disappeared. When I was a 25 year old first-year teacher, I was frequently teaching from a chair because my back hurt too much to stand. I had been told my only option was to install metal rods in my spine and never touch my toes again. Unacceptable, obviously. I turned to Chiropractics as a desperate measure, having heard the usual stereotypes but also thinking it couldn't possibly get worse. Within a couple visits, I was a believer. Within months I was a new woman. No more teaching from chairs. No more inexplicable shooting pain and numbness in my legs. I won't say my back is 100% pain free every day, but I will say that when I tweak it, I'm sure to feel better when they're through with me. When I first started going, I was encouraged to see all the docs in the practice to figure out which one was best for me. Now I almost exclusively see Dr. Sofia, since her style is best suited to the vagaries of my spine, but everyone there is great. Dr. Sofia truly trusts me to know my own body, and I consider my care to be a collaboration rather than a passive thing for me. I have lived in Jamaica Plain for 5 years now, and in spite of the 30+ minutes it takes me to drive there, I can't bring myself to trust my back to anyone else! read more

I was absolutely thrilled with my care at Medford Chiropractic. The physicians are all fantastic and I really enjoyed their whole approach to chiropractic care. They did not just focus on the spine but the muscles as well, and I felt like it was a wonderful whole body approach. In addition, I felt like it was a very down to earth practice that was not trying to be too "new age" and force random untested theories and practices on me. They did not try and push me into purchasing "extra" things that would help my care either which I very much appreciated and felt like if they were going to suggest something that it would have been for a real reason. The doctors are wonderful and very personable and really care about the patients and there care and well being. I would be happy to recommend their clinic to anyone searching out a quality chiropractor. Another wonderful thing about them is they were very willing to be help me with some insurance difficulties that I had, and worked very hard to make it an affordable experience. Each doctor really takes the time to get a view on our issues, and they go over a set plan on how and what they can do to help us overcome the pain. Every one at the medford chiropractor center works as a team and together they really do make a difference. They work around our busy scheduales and really apprecite their customers. My mom and i go in with plenty of questions and concerns and we leave there with all our questions answered and more at ease. I started going to Medford Chiropractic in October 2015 because of a Groupon I purchased. The place is great, they sent me for a full x-ray of my back and were able to determine what my back issues were immediately. I have been to a spine specialist who wanted to keep giving me cortisone shots that didn't work. The doctors here are all great and spend the time needed with each patient, I never feel rushed. I can't tell you how good their practice would've been, because i didn't hang around long enough to find out. Explanation: I went in for a total of 3 appointments, and they ran exceptionally late for each one. Appt 1 - 45 minute wait after my scheduled time before seeing a doctor. Appt 2- 35 minute wait after my scheduled time before seeing a doctor. Appt 3 - 30 minute wait after my scheduled time before telling the receptionist that i just couldn't wait around anymore before walking out the door. Sorry, if it happens once here and there it's understandable, nobody is perfect. But 3 for 3 is just plain unprofessional in my book. They obviously overbook their patients. They seemed knowledgeable, but be prepared to wait if you choose Medford Chiropractic. In my book, Punctuality = Professionalism in the medical world. Punctuality was definitely not their forte. I have only gone in twice now but I am very happy. I have been suffering from severe chronic migraines for years now and they didn't make any promises but they really wanted to help me. I met with Dr. Berg on my first visit and because they wanted to help me as soon as possible the squeezed me in for the last appointment for the next night. My first adjustment went really well ( and for the first time in over two weeks I'm waking up almost migraine free). Between adjustments and recommended exercises, I was pain-free through writing my master's thesis! All of the staff and chiropractors at this Center are extremely welcoming, patient, and clearly explain their course of treatment - and I would know, I have been seeing chiropractors since I was 1 year old! I went to Medford Chiropractic Center in the summer of 2016. I had 6 appointments, and I never once waited less than 40 minutes in the waiting room. One time I waited 55 minutes. The waiting room was always full, and the whole experience made me feel like they were trying to get as many people through the clinic in as little time as possible. I saw three different chiropractors in the 6 visits I had there and I never felt like they really cared how my pain started or if it was getting better long term- they just seemed to be trying to get me to come back as many times as possible for as many weeks as possible. I think anybody who thinks this is a good chiropractic clinic probably hasn't been anywhere else and therefore doesn't know how good it can be. The chiropractor I see now in Cambridge spends 40 minutes with me per appointment and is working towards getting me to the point where I don't need chiropractic care anymore. That should be the goal right- fewer appointments, not more? read more
