I am looking to buy some Chinese medicines in 1 day or 2. I called the store twice in the morning, they agree to confirm whether they have the types of medicines I am looking for and get back. They never call or text back. In the afternoon, I called again. This time a woman answers the phone, saying VERY rudely with the worst attitude I ever encountered: " I don't know if we have this specific medicine, my boss is busy. I don't know!" Then hang up the phone. How can you treat a customer like that? People have been saying your prices are high. So high price, with such a terrible attitude/ service? My pops needed some Chinese medicine for his hand, as he forgot to let me know about it. I didn't pack anything for him while we went away for the weekend in San Francisco so luckily my cousin knew of a Chinese herbal store that was pretty close by our hotel. We stopped by and pick up a bottle of some "Ancient Chinese Secret" medicine! Lol! If you ask me what it is.......I have no idea, but pops uses it, and it works for him. Once in a rare blue moon, when the western medicine doesn't work for me...........I've dabbled into some of the Chinese medicine too. And you know what? It actually works! Anyways, I'm glad this little store was very close by our hotel..........only a few long blocks away, so it was very convenient for us to get here. They sell all kinds of stuff here, besides herbal medicine...........they also have oils, teas, & other herbal stuff (I have no idea what they are)........... I find it very fortunate that we have a trustworthy Chinese Herbal shop with knowledgeable and experienced owners nearby. The owners were both doctors officially educated in both Chinese and Western medicine from mainland China (and the father was also a medical professor), and their sons also learned the same trade. So I often go in to ask for their advice on what are the best Chinese Herbal and/or food remedies to treat different conditions (like high blood sugar or cholesterol) and have the comfort and trust that they won't just recommend or sell anything to make a quick buck. Their herbs and other items are always of high quality and at reasonable price. When I have actual illness that I think will be better treated with Chinese rather than Western medicine, I will go see Dr. Hong (the father) whose prescriptions have worked very well for me through the years and he's the best that I've found so far for the past twenty years in S Cal and N Cal. Better yet, they also have Chinese herbal prescriptions in power form (you can choose either actual herb or the powder form), which you can just mix with warm water without having to go through the trouble of boiling herbal tea. They're not appetizing by any measure, but sure beat the stinky smell and taste of traditional Chinese Herbal tea. Highly recommend both the shop and the doctor! read more

like the other negative reviews i wish i can give him zero stars. this guy is cocky and rude. the people here are not nice at all. also, we picked up some chinese medicine for my daughter and this guy gave us completely wrong meds. i know this because after dealing with this rude bald guy, i went to another place on san bruno ave and got the right meds. i even asked the lady to double check everything and she did. at this point, we have no idea what he gave us the first time. do not buy anything here! they treat customers like garbage and also puts together wrong medications together which can cause issues. a big thank you to the bald guy for pushing me towards the real chinese herbal places. read more

Cannot rave enough about this gem of a place--it has everything you'd want in an Asian/Chinese apothecary type shop, authentic to the hilt, and full to the rim, with overcrowded (in the best way possible) shelves with portions and lotions, creams and gels, sprays and aerosols with unpronounceable writing in Mandarin or maybe Cantonese, with pain relieving properties. One of their ointments which we get have recognizable ingredients, e.g. camphor, and salyscilic acid ... which is the exact formulation of BenGay or some such. Except that it totally is different in the way it acts upon pain receptors and how it gets absorbs into the bloodstream. It. Just. Works. Better. The owner is quite opinionated, but in a radically caring way--he directed me to what he thought would help more than the other ointment I'd picked out. And damned if he wasn't right. They do speak English, which makes the shopping and browsing experience a gazillion times more helpful and efficient. For such a tiny storefront, they manage to pack a ton of stuff there, and the prices cannot be beat. Btw., they import a lot of their goods from China, so you're getting the real deal.
