I found Dr Paul G on Yelp and he got good reviews but I wasn't prepared for how fantastic he actually was. I had a tooth pulled and he had a hard time since tooth was brittle and broke in the extraction process. I could tell it wasn't going well and another dentist might have panicked. But he and assistant, Brittany, stayed calm and cool. Although he definitely, had to work harder. And his extensive experience ( 50 years)was helpful and he completed the mission. I am so grateful. And I refuse to use anything toxic on or in my body. And he is just as careful about that as I am. In fact I had my own CBD with me a cannabinoid oil and he was very building to use it. And the antiseptic that he used was cayenne pepper. How fantastic is that so if you want a skilled and natural help dentist he is your man. read more

Dr. Genung and Britney are amazing as Health-Conscious Dentistry! He is an expert and has been in the dentistry field for 50 years!!!!!!!!!!!! Britney is a joy and does a great job complimenting the practice and cleaning my teeth! Dr. Genung is an advocate for the most healthy means of cleaning and fixing teeth. Rather than just treating symptoms, he is all for treating the root of the problem which ultimately really benefits the patient. I had my mercury fillings out after hearing how toxic they are to the body, and, immediately, my migraines went away. Furthermore, I like how he explains how the body and mouth work in alignment. It helps me rest assured that I know the decision I make is a sound one. All too often folks are rushed into decisions regarding toothcare, and Dr. G is not for that. I have tremendous dental "fear" and I have to say that Dr. Genung and his hands-on approach to treatment (he did all the cleaning and work himself) is refreshing. Not only was my experience not scary OR painful, it was educational, enlightening and almost entertaining. My sons and I saw Dr. Genung last year and were pleased with having Dr. Genung as our new dentist. For reasons I won't get into here, one of my sons went to a different dentist six months later. He was told by this other dentist that he should get his wisdom teeth extracted. All four of them, even though only one was bothering him! The dentist also told him that he would not have enough room in his mouth to accommodate all the wisdom teeth. As an astute mother, red flags popped up in my lightning fast mind. One tooth is bothering him so he should get all four surgically removed?! The lady at the dentist's office stressed that he should get them all removed--all at the same time--because, she said, it is such a traumatic experience that he would never want to go back another time to have the others removed, so he should get them all taken care of at one time. And, she said, they would give him a drug to put him out completely and would give him "temporary amnesia." I said, "Can't he just get the one that's bothering him removed?" "Oh, no," she said. "They all should get extracted." Oh my! More red flags went up. Troubled by what I heard, I called Dr. Genung, seeking his opinion. Knowing that he is not out to sell services, I was looking for a professional opinion that I could trust. He reviewed my son's x-rays and saw him in person. Dr. Genung concluded that my son did NOT need any of his wisdom teeth removed, not even the one that was bothering him. Furthermore, Dr. Genung said he will have enough space to accommodate the wisdom teeth when (and if) they all come in. Dr. Genung explained that the tooth that was bothering him had not fully erupted, and the top one was just starting to come in. This was the cause of my son biting his cheek, causing some pain when he chewed on that side. Dr. Genung's prescribed solution was, "chew on the other side of your mouth." And that when the wisdom teeth come in completely, he would not have that problem any more. Wow. Need I say more? One dentist says to extract all four wisdom teeth--even the ones that have not come in or haven't come in fully yet. Sounds pretty traumatic and painful to me--and expensive to top off that trauma, adding pain to your bank account. I am so glad that my son didn't cave to his friends' recent oral surgeries/peer pressure and that he agreed to see Dr. Genung for his professional opinion. read more

Dr. Paul Genung is a very wise and gentle dentist. I used to DREAD going to the dentist and get Anxiety at the very thought until I met Dr. Paul. I first went in for a tooth that had been bothering me and upon examination he found a very deep cavity. He was so gentle and kind and made me feel so relaxed (even when he was putting in the needle to numb my mouth-I felt NOTHING) that I almost fell asleep. I knew I had found my new Dentist. He has a nice office with a great view right downtown Seattle. The other thing I really appreciate about him is that he values HEALTH. He is very proactive when it comes to educating his patients on things like the danger of MERCURY FILLINGS and Root canals. HE IS ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS! Oh ALSO if you are worried about paying for parking, he will validate your parking if you park in a certain lot.(I can't remember which one, but when you call make sure and ask!) All in all Dr. Paul is GREAT. My husband and children(4 & 12) have all seen Dr. Paul and love him. I would recommend him to ANYONE who cares about their health and wants a darn good dentist. I have never forgotten my two visits to Dr. Gunung even though it has been many years. I wish I could forget. The first visit was the checkup and x rays that showed I had a number of cavities that I needed filled as well as a number of amalgam fillings that Dr. Gunung thought needed to be replaced with composite even thought they were still functioning fine, outside of his unorthodox electrical assessment of them. He recommended the replacement because he said my amalgam fillings were all dangerous, acting essentially like batteries on my meridians, and a few more than others. He said it was going to be better to do the cavity fillings and replacement of the amalgam fillings over two sessions because there were so many. I forgot about the first session and missed the appointment. My bad. I felt badly about it but there was nothing to be done. I just forgot to go. I would have paid a fee for missing it but instead Dr. Gunung decided that he would fill all 10 cavities and replacements during the second appointment. I should have not let him do this. He seemed irritated and He was in such a hurry. I will never know whether he meant to or not but he traumatized one of my molars. I remember thinking while he was working on me that he was packing the fillings really hard but I did not say anything. So, after this appointment, for the next year or so, that molar was pressure sensitive and temperature sensitive. Ultimately, an infection developed under the filling of that molar. It happened on a Saturday night so that I had to wait two days until getting it drilled out to relieve the pressure and pain of the infection and then a root canal. It was a horror story. During the initial examination visit, at least when I went to see Dr. Ganung the first and only time a long time ago, he explained to me that if I were ever in need of a root canal he did not do root canals because he believed they are not healthy. Instead he did removal and then a bridge between the two healthy teeth on either side of the removed tooth. So, if I had gone back to him to fix the tooth that he traumatized while replacing the amalgum filling with composite, I ultimately would have gone from having a fairly healthy tooth with an amalgam filling to no tooth but a bridge. However one feels about my missing the first appointment, and how one feels about bridges and root canals and taking out perfectly functional amalgam fillings, I think one would be wise to think twice about going to see him because I think, at best, his judgement is not the very good.
