The masseuse is good at massaging but it's hard to communicate and understand given that she can't speak English. The ambience lacks in peaceful sounds and the door is always left open. I asked numerous times to have the door closed. I felt uncomfortable with the door being open during my massage. The receptionist/owner made me feel bullied into giving 20+ dollars for a tip, which is more than 20%. In addition, make sure to bring cash because she charges $5 if you use a card. Went in for a couples massage. It was 5/10. But when it came to checking out we were met with a credit card fee that I don't remember seeing on their website but also confrontation with our tip. We gave 20% (in cash as requested) and the masseuse kept pointing at their suggested tips and the minimum suggested tip was 28-30% minimum. She kept holding up the cash tip asking where the rest of it was and kept pointing at the tip suggestion sign. I was in need of a good deep tissue massage and the Health Massage Center delivered. It was 90 minutes of pure heaven! The spa is very, very clean and the price is great!! This was the 1st and ONLY time I will go this establishment. My friend and I had appointments for 11am. I went in first to wait for my friend and in doing so I spoke with an employee there or shall I say " I spoke into her cellphone which translated what I was saying into ENGLISH. FONT SIZE OVER "14" This should have been a clue but I always give people the benefit of the doubt. My friend arrives and we both received " So Called Massages" NOT! I had to tell my masseuse to go and get her phone so I could talk into it for translation to tell her about my injuries and to caution her to be careful / gentle. My treatment of care was HORRIFIC. As she was massaging my injured shoulder which I her about she began gentle at first and all of a sudden she yanked my shoulder and arm off the table (my eyes bulged out of my head ) . Then she applied the Hot Stones to my back which she had no idea what she was doing. First she dropped one of the stones on my ear lobe and never said " I'm sorry. Second as she was applying the stones to my back it felt like I was a coloring book. No technique just using stones on my back as if she was coloring in a coloring book . So much can be said about my experience . Now to my friend's experience . My friend "R" told her about her bad shoulder also which laid upon deaf ears . Side note : She could understand ENGLISH. As she was given my friend her massage she was rough / very forceful when applying her technique which once again my friend had to tell her to be gentle. Then as my friend was getting her lower extremities massaged including her buttocks the employee turned my friend's panties into a THONG which was a terrifying experience and then proceeded to manipulate her butt cheeks in an inappropriate way . Needless to say that ended quickly. My friend was getting her head massaged and all of a sudden the employee started "Pulling her long hair" in a forceful way that made my friend scream " STOP" IN CLOSING : After we were done and got dressed we headed to the front of the establishment and I paid for our "MASSACRES .... I MEANT MASSAGES!" I went to bathroom and left my tip for my masseuse but when I returned she pointed to the piece of paper on the wall behind the register which read " GOOD SERVICE TIP $20 or MORE!" It's funny how at this precise moment she was able to speak ENGLISH to say "I NEED MORE TIP MONEY!" I looked at her and responded " Hell No!" Bought a Groupon for 90 minute massage and had to return it because this place was unprofessional. I called 2x before and each time was told to call back next time. I called to schedule an appointment on the day my Groupon was expiring. I called and asked if I could schedule 2 90 minute massages today because my friend also got the Groupon. She said she can schedule at different times but not at same time. Ok, I get it. Then, she tells me there's no opening today after I said my Groupon is expiring today and that I would need to pay $40 difference after today. This by far is the BEST place to get a massage. I go here once a month and ALL of the girls are fabulous. I have been to many places for massages as I tend to knot up every month but this place is awesome and I walk out of there feeling amazing! The only reason I did not give a 5*rating was because of the horrible music selection. I have been there 3 times for 90 minute deep tissue massages, each time they only played one song the WHOLE time I was there. It was like Chinese water torture. Imma did a phenomenal job 90 minute massage. IMMAZING! I have had many massages from top notch masseuses in CT, NYC, and around the world and I was impressed when she told me she had only been doing it for a year, could have told me she was doing it for many! She walked on my legs, feet, glutes, hips, digging deep with heels and toes in all the right spots. I had been there once before as well, and had a great relaxing experience as well. I just had a massage here today with Wendy. She was very knowledgeable and I wish to recommend her to others. This is an unassuming storefront with reasonable prices ($68 for a full hour). Wendy was recommended to me by a friend who has received several massages from her. She is seriously knowledgeable in anatomy and Shiatsu, deep tissue and Swedish massage. Like many people who get massages from time to time, I have some injuries, an old back injury and recent tendinitis in my shoulder. The shoulder injury is about two months old and the cause was a mystery -- I woke up with it one morning and thought it would go away. It didn't. Wendy has brought the shoulder back about 75-percent and told me what to do to keep working on it so it heals completely. Wendy was trained in China, was obviously very experienced and worked really hard on me - she was worth every penny. She's up there with the two or three best practitioners I've been to. There is nothing fancy or 5-star spa-looking about the office/therapy rooms. But it is very clean, very comfortable and warm, and was just top-notch therapeutic massage from someone who knew what she was doing at a price that is fair and affordable. I read the decent reviews on this site and my back and neck have been in spasms for two weeks, so I thought I'd give this place a try. I called this morning and got an appointment for less than an hour later. When I got there, I was led immediately back to a room. The inside is what you'd expect from a decent massage place, so that was all good. The woman asked me how long I wanted and I said 60 mins of deep tissue. She said okay and left, leaving the door partially open without telling me what I was supposed to do. I could hear her talking to another client, so I closed the door and undressed and got on the table, even though I was weirded out. Every other place I've had a massage they have you fill out a form beforehand with basic health questions and the massage therapist asks you what you want them to work on, what your issues are, if you have any injuries. Not here, not this time, anyway. The woman came back in a few minutes later, asked if I liked hard pressure and then just went at it. It felt all wrong, like she'd never been trained at all, and she was sort of shoving at me in the neck area, which is what is so messed up. Not that she knew that. Her English wasn't great either, so I'm not sure how much she understood when I tried to explain the problem. I didn't know what to do, and then she kept massaging me in such a bad way, and I could tell she had no technique and didn't know what she was doing. She massaged me through the sheet, didn't know about draping, and it just felt all wrong, so I got up and left. This place does not seem legit and I would not go back.
