Massage was good. What I didn't like was there was definitely a language barrier which made it difficult to explain the aches and pains that I had. In addition, I thought it was very unprofessional for the masseuse to tell what tip I should leave and insisting I make an appointment for next time. A tip is a very private thing, in my opinion, and at the end of what should be a relaxing experience, having someone tell you what they are expecting you to leave only makes things awkward. Not my style. Because of these two issues, I wouldn't recommend it or be back. Massage itself was good, but if you can't communicate easily with what aches you, it lessens the experience. My private areas were exposed the entire time, the "massage therapist" has literally ZERO training and was literally just shaking and jabbing at me. Pressing directly on my spine and causing significant PAIN the entire time. I was in so much pain and so uncomfortable I stopped her in the middle of the session and told her I was leaving. She then had the AUDACITY to demand a tip!!!!!!!!! Worse massage I've ever had. The "therapist" was very rough and pushing directly on my spine and kept trying to crack my back by pushing on it. I'm not sure if she has been trained properly because she didn't seem to know what she was doing. I suffer from a shoulder injury as well as 2 bulging disks with sciatica pain and I've had many massages in the past so I'm not new to getting a massage. I've never had any issues with getting pain relief for those areas in the past from a massage but this was not the case. I left in more pain than what I walked in with and woke up the following day feeling like something was stabbing me in my back. I would recommend going somewhere else and spending more money to get an actual massage from a licensed professional because I'm certain this place does not actually have a licensed massage therapist. If I could no stars I would! It's been so long since my last massage, so I was looking forward to this day. For a Christmas present to myself I purchased a 90 minute hot rock massage from Groupon for Health Aroma in Wallingford. I got to my appointment on time. The lady led me to the room, past a speaker with music playing way too loud for relaxation. The temperature of the room was cool. Typically, that wouldn't bother me much because only as small portion of your body is exposed at a time. Not today! When I got into the room, the lady told me that I could get under the 'towel' when ready and then hurried me to get undressed. Because I felt uncomfortable with just a towel for covering, for the first time ever, I left my underwear on. I climbed onto the table. Covered myself with this towel that was a bath sized towel not even an extra large beach towel so any time she rubbed me somewhere, some part of my body was exposed. She pulled down the towel to massage my back past my ass and then proceeded to pull my underwear down now exposing my naked ass!!! She said don't worry, no one will come in. She then left the room for I don't know what but left the room ajar when she returned to the room!!! Who leaves the door ajar? NEVER have I ever had a therapist leave the door open. I could hear other people talking elsewhere in the place and their phone ringing. She asked if I wanted medium or hard pressure. But feeling that hard wasn't going to be that hard that's what I asked for. Ouch! As she poked and prodded me with her thumbs and elbows, I was sure I'd leave bruised!! I then asked for less pressure. Still too hard, but endured the pain. Almost praying for the massage to end. She massages my legs picking my feet up too high, felt like I was doing some calisthenics that my body wasn't ready for. She left the room three addition times. For what? I'm not sure. One was to get the hot rocks, the other times, who knows? Not sure why they weren't already in the room. She massages my back with the hot rocks which felt nice but when she got to my legs they were cool. She also answered the phone three times for people making appointment while I was still on her table!!!! She left again to get a warm wash cloth to wash the oils off my back. Felt like a patient in the hospital getting a sponge bath! She washed my back, my arms then my legs Leaving me now with a wet back exposed to this very cold room. My fingers were like icicles when I finally left! She asked me to roll over. I got scared for the frontal massage. She massaged between my breasts and on the sides. Never had anyone rub that low besides my husband!! She finished about 7 minutes before the end of my 90 minutes but I didn't care, I needed to leave - feeling almost violated!!
