During that time I had to look for medical care elsewhere and discovered Pacific Medical. My initial contact was with a receptionist (name ?) who was the most pleasant receptionist I believe I've ever met. She was so helpful and arranged an appointment for me to meet a new PCP (Primary Care Physician). She transferred all my medical records from UW Medicine making the process painless. Did I mention the receptionist was so very pleasant? After my initial meeting with my new PCP, I was thoroughly impressed with the staff at Pacific Medical. The medical facility is really close by my apartment, so traveling back and forth is not a problem. Lots of parking, with about half dozen Handicap parking stalls directly out from the front door of the clinic. Perhaps the time spent with negotiations between Aetna & UW Medicine was my good luck.

I was extremely nervous, but once we started talking, he was such a kind and caring man, that my nerves just faded. I felt like he listened to me and we worked out the best possible scenario for my needs. One thing I really appreciate about him is that he sat down and talked with me without typing. Every doctor I have been to in the past types their notes as they talk to me and I don't really feel heard. I am very grateful that I found him and I also want to say how appreciative I am of his nurse, Caroline, for reaching out to me personally the week prior to see how I was doing. I can't remember any prior doctor's office staff reaching out to me like that and she spent a considerable amount of time talking to me. I felt so much better after our chat! I definitely believe Dr. McLaughlin when he says Pac Med puts their patients first.

My appointment…read morewith my primary care physician was months out from when I scheduled it in the first place; then Kaiser cancelled it, and I had to reschedule weeks later. I have been willing to be seen at other Kaiser facilities for specialists, and they too cancel appointments I made months earlier and force me to reschedule several months later. Clearly, Kaiser has a shortage of all kinds of doctors. Member services is the WORST! No point contacting them. They will take a complaint, sometimes send generic related papers ("you filed a complaint"), and NEVER answer the phones given for follow-up. Then they send a letter that the complaint is closed. A heart-related test performed in Tacoma was so rough that bruises were visible, and I had related pain for a week. The abusive person performing this test had the nerve to complain during the test was tough on her too. She was tiny, so perhaps it was tough for her to apply so much force to abuse me. Member Services clearly DID NOT CARE & FAILED to follow up.

The appointment time is 10:30 and I tried the kiosk at 10:31 and speak to the receptionist at 10:34. How, in this short amount of time did our entire 45 minute appointment time slot get taken by someone else? My assumption is they were running behind schedule and found our late arrival as a way to catch up on their shortcomings. I've come to this location several times and have never been seen right on time - usually have to wait a few min in the lobby. So it's interesting that THEY can consistently run late but will turn away patients for a minor late arrival. A little transparency could go a long way. Even something like "normally we could still see you but since we are behind schedule we cannot", to show SOME accountability. Will not be returning to this location because I do think the receptionists could have been more helpful and/or transparent for the reason.

This administrative incompetence has caused severe delays in my urgently needed physical therapy care, despite referrals being submitted electronically, faxed multiple times, and hand-delivered. Doctor is completely failing to respond to important patient messages sent through the portal and office staff, leaving critical medical needs ignored.

Ours is not the only insurance they are not playing good with. My husband retired with 47 years at Boeing with great insurance through Regence. So when we retired we went with them for our Medicare Advantage. After 8 years of retirement Multi Care no longer Supports several insurance plans. The families of Auburn through insurance companies have supported Multi Care now they are turning their backs on us. What gives???? As a result we have now transferred everything to St Francis Hospital and Doctors in Federal Way. I have a health situation that needs attention. I have found that St Francis is great. The CT scan when through so promptly and with great service. I really like my new Primary Dr and my Urologist and Team are looking after me with the best care. Lana helped him with ease and made him feel comfortable be cracking small, but very appropriate jokes which helped reduce his normal amount of surgical anxiety! Lana we appreciated you and all you did! The rest of the staff were great as well! Surgery ran as scheduled and they were on time!! Great preop experience for Dr. Houseworth!

THE LAB HERE GAVE US *CONFIRMED* INCORRECT LAB RESULTS on 2 separate occasions, resulting in my…read morehusband in the ER. We are still stuck with the bill even though THEY CAUSED HIS SYMPTOMS & COULD HAVE KILLED HIM!! The lab on the main floor did not process my husbands labwork correctly, resulting in his cardiologist changing his medications. 36 hours later he was admitted to St Joes ER (also a Franciscan facility) with heart attack symptoms (BP ~210/107, tingling arm, nausea, etc). According to the ER Dr, his admittance into the hospital was a direct result of of the medication changes made by his cardiologist, based on the incorrect lab results. We followed back up with the cardiologist at this location. He admitted his own family had stopped using the lab there, as they were unhappy with results from there as well... Nonetheless, we cautiously had his blood work done a second time, again resulting in incorrect numbers. We then got a 2nd, 3rd & 4th blood draw at 3 other labs not Franciscan labs. It was confirmed his results from that lab were incorrect. We contacted a patient advocate with Franciscan. Concerned that if this lab processed one patients labs incorrectly twice, it was easy to assume it was happening to others. After 4 months of internal investigation, they admitted the same person processed both samples, retraining was done, but we were still liable for the $5000 bill at the ER ($2000 insurance, $3000 out of pocket, $21000 contractually written off). Even though the Drs decisions, based on INCORRECTLY PROCESSED blood samples, almost KILLED him; we are still responsible for the bill to save his life. A bill from the exact same corporation.

Adequate staff at the reception area on the 2nd floor. I have always have had a great experience checking in for my appointments. Received very good customer service from the staff. My personal experience seeing the Nurse Erin and Dr. Garcia have been excellent! They were really attentive to my needs, cared about my well-being and explained what I needed to do for the future to improve my health. Provided great advice and care as well as the required prescriptions.
