    Smoothie And Berry Açaí Bowl
    Steve A.

Got something for breakfast that was as the name says it is of course. Healthy And Simple is an unassuming place in Noble Square. It is locally owned and operated by a Mexican family so there's lots of exotic fruits to mix up. Has okay prices for the quality. There's açaí bowls and smoothies, as well as hot foods such as empanadas and tacos. Came at breakfast. It's a small place with a couple tables inside. There's all kinds of fruits to make a smoothie or a bowl as well as granola and other stuff. Hard to choose. It's $8 for the build your own smoothies. Got one with almond milk and a few fruits. These are just one option. It's about $11 for the Berry Açaí Bowl. This is made with açaí, apple juice, bananas, blueberries, pitaya, and strawberries. Good enough but it gets better. This is topped with bananas, coconut flakes, granola, and mango. Has a crap ton of fruits and other healthy foods. It's a healthy place to be sure. There's options for breakfast and later for vegans and vegetarians.

Super cute spot on busy stretch of Ashland. Since it's started to feel like spring I've been on a juice/smoothie kick and this place has great options. Lot of fresh fruit and different blends of juices and smoothies as well as bowls. I also saw that they make paninis and breakfast sandwiches, I'll have to try their food in the future. I had a beet carrot grapefruit juice that was amazing. Friendly service too.

Tall is from this juice bar, quality not good.

The only reason I give it a star is the customer service lady was decent although more Spanish speaking. This place is filthy with their juice and you have to be cautious with fresh vegetables sitting out. Rinsed the carrots tried to juice them all wet like negative ! The juice all watered down. Save $15-16 and go down the street to Sunlife , I didn't even bother to drink it. Xoxo Juice Snob

Post completion of my run, I searched yelp for smoothie places within a radius of me. I took interest in two smoothie places 'Sol Chicago' (ranked no. 5), and 'Healthy and Simple' (ranked no. 2) which were both located in an area that I frequently visit. I nearly chose Sol Chicago because of its low reviews but went with Healthy and Simple solely because I figured parking would not be a headache due to its location. After briefly looking at its menu online, I took a liking to their breakfast smoothies which became the decision maker for me driving out. The options for parking I noted were along N Ashland Ave or within the neighborhood. During this visit, I was fortunate enough to find a parking spot directly outside which was pay by the plate. After entering Healthy and Simple, I encountered a woman working behind the counter who did not appear very social. She did her thing behind the counter until I was ready to order which is okay because I can relate; it was a Sunday the day of my visit. I ended up ordering a yellow breakfast smoothie solely because of its ingredients which were banana, pineapple, ginger, Greek yogurt, and orange juice. Yum! Service: 4 (Good) The mood was set with music by Juan Gabriel (El Divo de Juárez), a Mexican singer, songwriter and actor who is known for his flamboyant style. Other than that, Healthy and Simple gave off a peaceful vibe and felt similar to a Mexican restaurant yet consisting of healthy breakfast/ lunch items, and an array of juice & smoothie options. And as for dine-in there are only a few tables with seats available in the dining area. Atmosphere: 5 (Great) Oh my God! The yellow breakfast smoothie tasted very good! I could not help but enjoy the taste of each ingredient as I savored each sip! After finishing it, I said to myself "Ok, I think I got a favorite!" (A favorite smoothie place, and smoothie!) Food: 4 (Good) I would gladly order from Healthy and Simple again when in the Ukrainian Village/ Wicker Park area, or if I get a craving for something ordered previously. As a fitness enthusiast, I give you my endorsement of it as the complimentary option to a healthy lifestyle or someone pursuing it. Service: 4 | Atmosphere: 5 | Food: 4 Recommendations: Breakfast Smoothies (Yellow, Carrot, Purple, and Green) ~ Smile. Sparkle. Shine. ~ Thomas G

I've been wanting to try this place and it did not disappoint. I just got a dragon bowl from here. It is super yummy. Everything taste so fresh. It was really hard to put it down in the place and people felt welcoming. Looking forward to trying them again probably again this week.o

    Paletas

Delicious smoothie with so many options to pick from and they names of each smoothie is pretty funny. They have paleta which I personally never had but it's great to enjoy during the summer. Service was rather quick and it's a cute cafe to sit and enjoy your food/drinks

Definitely go here! Everything is fresh! So many combinations you can pick from and it's fresh fruit. No uuneeded sugars or even worse, artifical sugars! Highly recommend! The staff is very helpful and above all, the juice and the bowl are tasty. We ended up getting the Pina colada dowl, the dragon fruit bowl and the smoothie of the day, (kale, spinach, banana honey, coconut milk, u may be missing a few components lol). It very affordable and the sizes are huge!

We started with a mocha, a solid, well-balanced drink that wasn't overly sweet and was just perfect. We didn't plan on eating here, but the menu was way too tempting. We ordered the cinnamon roll, and wow. This was insanely good. Most cinnamon rolls in the U.S. feel like sugar-heavy, cinnamon-flavored buns, but this one was light, flavorful, and beautifully made. The irimshik on top really elevated it, subtle, warm, and just sweet enough. Easy 10/10. Next was the cottage cheese pancake, which was also very good. It had a generous amount of cottage cheese stuffed inside, and paired with the sweet irimshik dip, the dish came together really well. 9/10. We then tried the qattama. It was good. flaky, crispy, and reminded me of a paratha. It came with a sour irimshik dip. While each component was good, I felt the qattama would shine more with a gravy-based dish. 7/10. Finally, we ordered the Nan Salma pasta. It's a tarry-based white sauce pasta with a unique flavor profile, and it was genuinely yum. Definitely something different and worth trying. Highly recommend it. 8/10. You have space to sit down and work as well. Service was good too. Some of the dishes might take 7-10mins to get prepared. Despite how packed it was, I was able to take a meeting without too much trouble--shoutout to my noise-canceling headphones, because they were doing the heavy lifting. The space itself is on the smaller side, so if you're planning to camp out for a while, just know it can feel tight. The bathroom could've used a little attention. Just be prepared for crowds, limited space, and pricey drinks that disappear way too fast.

Too Good To Go is a program that allows businesses to sell left over food at the end of the day on discount, avoiding food waste. For lunch I had an Americano, the vegetarian egg sandwich and a Margherita Bistro, which is like a cross between a margherita pizza slice but in a latticed pastry. Both the Americano and egg sandwich were actually excellent, while the Margherita Bistro was less noteworthy but fine. Actually when I looked up Margherita Bistro, wanting to learn if it's a common thing and it turns out that it's made by a food service company (Bridor, owned by French Groupe Leduff which supplies baked goods to cafés all over Europe). I got two cake slices later in my Too Good To Go order. The strawberry cheesecake (Monteressa cheese cake, made with marscapone, ricotta and fresh strawberries) was delicious while the carrot cake was not as good but still fine. It turns out that the Monteressa cheesecake is made by another big supply company (Bindi) that supplies Italian desserts. Coffee appears to be from Illy. I'd definitely recommend Café Crèmerie for their good coffee, excellent egg sandwich, and nice atmosphere. I'm also giving Café Crèmerie 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on the following: * First I'll get into the mediocre aspects and then some positive points. * Coffee is from Illy, which I would say is slightly better than average for a major coffee company. It's a certified B Corporation but it not known for organic or fair trade coffee (they do a kind of direct trade). * Many of the pastries are mass-produced by companies that supply European or European-style cafes. Like Illy, these suppliers are perhaps slightly better than average: Bridor mentions using cage-free eggs while Bindi uses renewable energy. * A lot of the menu is suitable for vegetarians and I appreciate that there's no sign of beef on the menu (the single food product that drives around 10% of climate change). Would be nice to see more vegan options. * Café Crèmerie does a nice job at avoiding waste generation. Ceramic cups are available for coffee and food is served on trays with a paper liner. * I also appreciate that Café Crèmerie takes part in the Too Good To Go program, avoiding food waste.
