My review is for the Juice Bar only. The store itself is pretty unremarkable and I wouldn't return if it wasn't for their smoothie menu. My mom and I went to get some açaí bowls and I was surprised by how well they were made. I didn't expect much since the place looks like a normal deli but the woman behind the Juice Bar knows what she's doing. And she cares too. When I told her I was waiting to meet someone but would order anyway to get it started, she asked if I wanted her to hold the bowls in the fridge in the meantime. This extreme preservation wasn't necessary since the bowls wouldn't be out for long but I appreciated the pride she had in her creation. I tried the garden açaí bowl mixed with kale and spinach, which was a first for me. With ripe bananas and hemp seeds on top, I loved the earthy sweet flavors of the açaí with the greens. I even loved the salady taste I had an hour after finishing the bowl! My mom had the berry açaí bowl that was just as beautiful. She let me try it and the sweetness was perfectly balanced. When I'm in the area, I would definitely come back for a smoothie or another açaí bowl. Their menu is insanely long and I'm now confident that anything I choose would be delicious. I do wish they had other nut butters as options besides just peanut butter. Also, I asked the woman which acai bowl was her favorite and she said she never had any of them. Come on! I'm writing this review after 6 unsuccessful trips to this place. Breakfast sandwich ($6), smoothie ($7.50), small container of ice cream ($8.50), breakfast burrito ($9.50). While none of these items are particularly expensive, they are overpriced for the quality of food and experience. These types of prices are justified if you are using quality ingredients or a member of a chain (like Starbucks or Juice Generation which are both one block away). Every time I leave this place I feel swindled, and the staff seems to give looks KNOWING I just paid for overpriced food. This spot needs to work on lowering their prices so they compete with similar no-name greasy food delis, and cut the surcharge. If they can't, they should go out of business to allow another top quality food establishment to move in and justify those prices. read more

I discovered this little gem when Juice Generation was closed one night and I'm so glad I did. There's only one machine that does all the juicing so they're prompt with taking your order but you'll have to wait a little as they juice one order at a time and clean the machine after each drink. It's a very very small corner space but enough to bring you delicious drinks and healthy food/snacks at an affordable price. As someone new to jucing, I randomly picked their Green Kale Juice. I was blown away with how amazing it tasted. Well, ever since then I'm addicted to green juice. I go back and forth between my favorite Kale juice and their garden juice. I went from hating celery and now loving celery because of this place. All their prices are a few dollars cheaper than Juice Generation and that's just another reason to love it so much. There can't be all pros and no cons though, their juice is too warm for me sometimes and I don't even like cold drinks. However, I wished they used some colder fruits to extract from. They also close early if they decide that "business is too slow" so maybe call before you make your trip here. Edit: -1 star, I recently came here again and I was not pleased with the service this time. There were no other customers around and there was three people working behind the counter. The staff here plays around too much and they are clearly not taking anything seriously. I understand juicing takes awhile but they took way too long to make my juice and they made me the wrong thing. I was pretty pissed about it. What drew me into the Healthy Corner Juice Bar was a sign on the sidewalk advertising their Avocado Smoothie. Up until that point, I never knew there was a juice bar on the corner of 9th Ave and 46th Street. They share space with Smilers Food Store, so I assumed it was just another part of the grocery store. The Avocado smoothie consisted of avocado, banana, ginger, orange juice, and soy milk. An odd combination on paper, but it worked. It was not overly gingered, and the avocado gave it a nice creaminess. It only came in one size and cost $7.25, comparable in price to other smoothies I've had in New York. The only seating they had was two seats with a small counter along the window. Next time I'm in midtown looking for something healthy I'll definitely remember Healthy Corner. If not for their smoothies, then for the 'grab & go' prepared sandwiches and salads that looked fresh & healthy. There was a kale one that looked particularly good. read more

This is a solid choice for juice and smoothies in Hell's Kitchen. It's attached to a small, unassuming Smiler's deli but turns out a huge variety of options for prices in the $5-7 range. Price-wise, that's a lot better than some of the more popular franchises in the area. And even better, their standard size is very large (I think between 16-20 oz). The workers are usually happy to make any substitutions or changes, but I've always found their menu options to be great to start with. There's a large range, from green juices to turmeric juices and coconut-water smoothies to avocado smoothies. It is a hidden gem for an acai bowl. It is a convenience store in Hell's Kitchen that also serves juices. I had the "Berry Acai" The acai base is blended with blueberries, strawberries, and soy milk. The bowl is topped with Goji berries, banana, organic granola, and agave. It is the first time I saw Goji berries as a topping. I have seen them on a few other acai bowls subsequently but it is not the norm. They definitely help differentiate this bowl. They also put a generous amount of them on. A great honey really puts a bowl over the top. While this bowl does not utilize honey, the use of agave provides a similar effect. At $8.95 per bowl, it is in the range I expect. It is a decent size too. Came here for a quick smoothie stop - decent cleanliness, standard smoothie in terms of taste (I like that they give you lots of options, but didn't like that you couldn't create your own), and good for if you want to pick up a small snack as well. I shared the mangoni smoothie, which I'd say was priced fairly since we got a big portion, but it was a bit too sweet for my personal taste. I was craving an acai bowl, so stopped here to grab one for lunch. I ordered the Hawaiian bowl (acai, bananas, kiwi, pineapple etc.) topped with bananas, pineapple, kiwi, granola and bee pollen. I was surprised by the serving - it's a good amount and quite filling! I thought the smoothie in the bowl could have been a bit sweeter - would have liked to see it have a drizzle of honey or something. I can't say enough good things about the quality of the juice here. Their menu is beyond extensive, and almost every combination I've tried has been dynamite. Their punch card system is welcome (every 10th juice is free), and the staff very friendly. Their pre-made salads and healthy snacks are better than you'd expect, and the variety is very welcome. My only issue is how long it can take depending on how busy it gets. More than a few times I've had to remind the (very nice) staff that my juice still hadn't been made, and that someone who came after me had already left. It's not too big of a problem, and doesn't happen very often, but does happen a bit more than I'd like. While it does get busy in the mornings, I've always had sufficient service and the people there always accommodate my smoothie requests. I love this place! It's attached to a little grocery store and can be easily missed when walking by. They recently did some re-modeling and the outer appearance is much better. I've only had their Acai bowls and they are a must. The staff are always super friendly and they never change me for the extra granola! Their smoothies are also refreshing and fresh with so many different options. The little store that the juice bar is connected to has a deli/sandwich section as well along with different snacks if you wanted to pick up few groceries while waiting. Solid hole-in-the-wall juice bar. I've been a smoothie/acai bowl kick lately and have been trying most of the high-end juiceries as well as this nearby joint, and definitely found Healthy Corner to have the most reasonable price point. While the smoothies don't always have as luxurious of ingredients as other places, I definitely recommend the acai bowl here over any of the other juice places. It's big and the ingredients are pretty much the same, but there's more of it! Eat it while it's fresh though- I think this applies to any place, but I came back one night since I had to rush somewhere and the leftovers were a goopy mess.
