I am writing to express our disappointment with how our property was treated during the recent…read moreroofing project Cloise and Mike Construction, Inc. provided. While the roof itself appears to be well done, the condition in which our property was treated and left is unacceptable. During the course of the work, your crew drove over shrubbery in our backyard in order to fit vehicles, smashing them flat and causing damage to the established landscaping. They also cut limbs from a tree we planted years ago as a memorial, leaving it disfigured. At no point were we asked for permission to cut any limbs or shrubs, nor were we informed that this had been done--we discovered the damage on our own afterward. The limbs were not properly removed but instead discarded onto other vegetation, leaving us to clean up the debris. Additionally, plants were cut back to accommodate vehicles in the rear driveway, and several bushes were run over and flattened. Old plywood removed from the roof was thrown onto our deck, landing on outdoor furniture. Crew members also walked through and stood in garden areas, trampling new spring bulbs. We were particularly surprised to find that a log had been dragged out of the forest and onto our lawn for use as a seat during break time, and then left there for us to remove. We understand that roofing can be a messy job with missed nails on the ground or some debris that had blown into bushes etc., but we chose to work with a small, local business in hopes of receiving more care and respect for our home and property. Unfortunately, this experience has not reflected that expectation.

Between the schedule and the nature of the project, there were some changes that popped up but it was all reasonable and she let me know about everything in advance. Robert did a fast and skilled repair on the roof and was professional and patient even when the job turned out to be bigger than we expected. Excellent company to work with, would absolutely hire again.

Sales person came out for review to make an assessment on what would be involved. In the conversation they offered to clean the roof, I told them there's a lot of moss up there and they said they could easily do that. Oh they cleaned something, just not the whole roof. They got the entire north side of my house covered in caked on globs of dirt. This included everything around there like my A/C exterior fan unit, my trash bins, my shed, my storage lockers and my deck boxes. They left a hose, my hose, on the roof and running all night long until my wife spotted it the next morning. My front hose was also used, I know this because instant of rolling it back up using the roll they just left it all piled up at the corner of my house. Now told them about this, and the person who responds just always says they'll get in touch with their "experts" and let me know. Eventually they came back to finish cleaning the roof and clean up the mess on the side of the house. They came and went then I got home and checked, looked like they took about two seconds to clean some of the side but ran off to their next project. It was in no way clean or even in the condition it was in prior to their work. As for the roof being cleaned and moss control applied, I can't get all the way up on the 2nd floor roof to know but my HVAC company came out to do some other work related to "Smokey cedar smell in air ducts, & they climbed up to the 2x!: floor and took photos. There was no moss control applied on the 2nd floor roof and miss was growing everywhere on the west back side, yes this was the very next day after M&H came. Cleaning and moss control were services we agreed M&H would do.m, but they clearly didn't yet still charged me for it. Oh and that donkey cedar smell? Sawdust in the HVAC exhaust line from roof & vent repairs. So basically the roofing company offered a series of services they never fully executed. I had to hire a different company to complete the gutter work and re-clean the lower & upper roofs and apply moss control up on the 2nd roof. Then I had to clean out my HVAC vents, and I had to wash and scrub the exterior of my house. How are they still in business is beyond me.

Integrity was selected as John were clearly the best in the quoting process!…read more He used a drone to give us a visual of the entire roof, and then was the only one of 5 potential vendors to climb up in the attic to look from underneath the roof, as well as look up into a crawlspace, thoroughly explaining why Malarkey was the best shingle, and the Integrity advantages in process and warranties that are significantly better than other companies. He also worked with us when the total price was higher when we included new gutters, getting us to the price we wanted to see late on a Friday afternoon to effect a quick smooth contract signature process. Integrity was able to provide turnkey services that included a skylight replacement, some painting\caulking of gable boards before the new gutters were installed, replaced a lot more roof boards than expected due to venting issues we were unaware of, and had all Integrity employees in company trucks, except for the gutters, which John had identified as subs that were also very professional and fast. Bella was also excellent in coordinating our requested timeframe due to visitors. Alex then took over as the Project Manager with excellent communications on the process and updates throughout the project that went amazingly fast, with Jose's professional\courteous crew knocking it off in just 2 days by working late when was expected so we didn't have to worry about wet boards\leaks under our underlayment\new shingles. Jose also communicated really well, accommodated our cars needing to get in\out and his crew installed a lot of new boards that weren't expected due to an unknown venting issue. Alex effectively communicated what Jose was seeing, but they just didn't do the many additional board replacements in the short timeframe through their hard work, but had the knowledge and expertise to fix the root venting issue, by adding bird block vents to enhance the ventilation to prevent future issues. This experience reinforced our confidence that selecting Integrity as clearly the best company through their literature, significantly warranties and we have the confidence they will be around if we had any warranty issues, where most of the other options were either further away or smaller operations that who-knows if they would be there in the long future. The only thing that did not go perfectly was that despite originally covering our plants as the old roof was removed and doing a great job on clean-up, two of our boxwoods had something come down on them that severely browned one and created an unsightly patch on another , which was never explained. The contract noted this as a risk, that Integrity was not responsible for, but it seemed that either covering them longer during the process or avoiding whatever was sprayed or fell on them, would have stopped the problem. However, we were so pleased with the overall job, top quality work and materials used, if that was the worst thing that happened on this large job, we were still very happy and fully recommend Integrity!

The one or two times he showed up he parked his sports car convertible in our driveway with his girlfriend in the passenger seat. He didn't care that his car blocked our driveway because he and his girlfriend were too busy screaming at each other. On a day where they'd removed our old roof, it rained. But just before the rain came down, the entire crew broke for lunch. During that time our living room ceiling leaked water. We had buckets across the floor to catch all the leaks. All during that time I was unable to reach Scott by phone since all calls went to his voicemail. We were furious by the time the crew returned after about an hour. No one apologized. Scott never showed up that day. On a Friday night, with work still unfinished, his leadworker told us he had to leave to hunt Scott down for a check since none of the crew had been paid. He of course was very upset. Besides leaving the workout with an unprotected roof during a heavy rain, this was the height of unprofessionalism. We complained to Scott who never offered to refund any portion of the money we paid. He just gave us excuses. After the work was finally completed, our roof continued to leak for the next three years. Scott merely gave us the names of his lead guys to call to patch up the roof. We kept hearing from those guys (one of them told us to call him exclusively from then on) about how something had been done wrong by the crew. Afterward there was yet another leak that was finally patched by a family friend slathering tar on the leaking spot. To make matters worse, for weeks after we found both pulled and unused roofing nails in our front and back yards--a lot of them. Bottom line is very little of what Scott promised was actually delivered except for a new roof. He even failed to deliver to permanently fix all the leaks in that new roof. He and his company--except for perhaps one employee--were unprofessional and incompetent. A basic customer service rule is to always deliver what you promised to do. Scott failed miserably at this. We still regret the costly and very stressful mistake we made hiring his company.

This morning, I called their office to let them know about the issue and Nancy looked up the work that was done. She talked to Jim who was at my house just before the time he said he'd be there. It didn't take him long to find the problem, a relatively easy fix, and he let me know he'd send a crew out within the next couple of hours with specific instructions. Not only was the crew here within the time he said they'd arrive, they fixed the presenting complaint and in addition, checked the entire ridge and resealed the skylight on the other side of the house. It was still nasty outside and I could hear laughter and the guys had a great attitude while they were out there. They must have had plenty to do today after the storm but A1 went above and beyond to protect my house before the damage could spread. My dad just passed away unexpectedly and you have no idea what it is to not have to worry about this on top of everything else that goes with losing a loved one. I'd give you ten stars if I could.
