I am beyond disappointed with my experience at VCA Buffalo Ridge Animal Hospital…read more I called because I had concerns about my pet and needed guidance on getting her seen. This was not a major request. If the answer was simply, "Your pet needs to be seen by the doctor," that would have been completely fine. Instead, I was treated rudely, my call was disconnected without explanation, and I was left feeling dismissed and upset. When I later spoke with the manager, Nicole, I was told that she had listened to the recording and that I had been "out of line." I strongly disagree with that characterization. I was not rude or disrespectful. I was a concerned pet owner trying to get help for my animal. What is most upsetting is that it felt like there was more interest in arguing with me than in focusing on getting care for my pet. The entire situation felt unnecessary and petty. A simple conversation and an appointment could have resolved everything. I left the interaction feeling as though Nicole was trying to punish me over a disagreement rather than help my dog, and unfortunately, the one who suffered from that approach was my pet. Pet owners call veterinarians because they are worried about their animals and need help, not to be made to feel like an inconvenience or to be put in the middle of an argument. Because of how I was treated, I will be taking my pets elsewhere and have requested to end my relationship with this hospital. Beware: If you are looking for compassionate, customer-focused care during a stressful situation with your pet, this was not my experience.

I would like to praise Angelica for her excellent phone support during a recent uneasy moment when my dog ate something potentially toxic. At the time, I was extremely anxious, but Angelica calmed me and explained the potential symptoms and emergency procedures, preventing an unnecessary emergency vet visit and saving me hundreds of dollars. I appreciate the staff's genuine care and concern. Thank you, Angelica, as you have shown that clients can trust Paws Animal Hospital for compassionate and expert animal healthcare services.

BE CAREFUL WITH YOU PETS AND THE MEDICATIONS GIVEN…read more We brought our family dog in for a cough and sneeze. They gave us 2 medications, an antibiotic and something for the cough. The following day (AFTER) we had already given our dog some of the medications, we were called and were told that the medication bottle given to us had the wrong label. Luckily, the medication in the bottle was accurate, however the name listed on the bottle was Benadryl but it was actually a controlled opioid-like substance. THIS IS A GROSS MISTAKE. On top of it they asked us to return to get the label fixed and then proceeded to try and charge us the difference in the medication cost... What a poorly run facility. We are lucky they even gave us the right medication at all, this type of negligence could be disastrous. If taking your dogs here be warned and i would triple check with the vet themselves on what should be prescribed, make sure it matches the name given by the front desk staff, and don't be afraid to question everything because clearly it's needed.

The reason I sought another facility for my pups is that after 15 years with another in town, my dogs appeared desperate to see me upon my return- not just happy, but unusually eager to leave. Because of this, I was very conscious of their demeanor when I picked them up from Red Fern and was pleased when I saw that while they were very happy to see me, they would have been just as happy to stay another day. That told me all I needed to know about Red Fern! This paired with the daily pictures of my babies having a ball, the report card shining light on their best qualities and my own positive experience with all of the staff made it clear that Red Fern is my pups' new home away from home when I am called out of town. If you are considering a boarding, grooming or training facility in Marion County, look no further than Red Fern Pet Lodge!

She is a high energy puppy, so this helps her burn off some of that energy. She comes home and sleeps good at night. I receive a report card and photos of her from Enrichment Day Care, which I just love. The team there knew Athena the moment we walked through the door after her first stay. While dropping her off, we witnessed many other dogs being dropped off, all just as happy and excited to be there as Athena. That says a lot about the place when the dogs are happy to be there. It's the best thing we could ever do to help Athena socialize and gain the confidence she needs to grow into a well rounded dog.
