Of the 4 people I came into contact with at this dental office, 1 was nice. She, however, stated that I had a "zit" on my gums. It's a scar from a childhood injury. The rest were pushy. The billing fellow forced me to sign a contract for further work although I did not want to. I was in exreme pain and needed immediate help. They withheld numbing until I signed for their treatment plan. They charged my account. I never returned and reported them to my insurance. read more

Dr. F is one of the most honest dentists I have found. I've gone to others who said I had cavities and needed drilling/work when my teeth are perfectly healthy and I've never had a cavity in my life. His work is quality and he fixed a tooth that always bothered me cosmetically (it grew in smaller than normal) and now my smile looks perfect. His prices are incredibly reasonable and I was quoted $200-300 more to fix that tooth from two other dentists. My mother started seeing him for major dental work too because he does such a great job. I'm baffled by all of the bad reviews because my family has had nothing but great work, service and pricing from his office. read more

While I was visiting San Diego I had a medical dental emergency... I contacted Dr. Ed and he immediately advise me to come in. I went in and unfortunately I had messed up my crown. He fitted my tooth with a new crown and a mold for a permanent one. I contacted several other dentist in the area to try to find someone and luckily I found him. He is great dentist and I am will definitely be a patient from now on... I get to come to San Diego to have my check ups.. LOL. Yay! read more

Watch out for this guy! They quoted $750.00 for a crown with insurance. I called my insurance company and they should only charge me $60.00 copay. When my insurance company called them to talk to them about it, now they don't want to treat us. Meanwhile I had a root canal and have to get a crown within a week. Shady dentist! read more

Why is it sooooo hard to find a GOOD dentist? STAY AWAY from this BUTCHER!!!!!!!!!!!! I went in for a check up, was told I have a cavity and that I need a deep cleaning. I knew about the cavity, and told the Dr I had been told I needed a root canal. He said no its just a cavity. So I had the cavity filled, and within about 2 1/2 weeks the filling broke out, I was in extreme pain now. Finally after the weekend I got into him, and now he tells me I need a root canal. I cant afford it, so now im stuck in pain, and he cant re fill the tooth. Until I get the money together im stuck with this hole in my mouth just hoping it doesn't lead to an infection. :( Dr is really rough, he just gets in and does it. He doesn't take time to make sure you are comfortable or anything... Basic cleanings etc they are alright, I wouldn't suggest getting any fillings here based on my experience. The office is pretty ghetto. one of the grossest looking ones I have ever seen. Since posting this Review, I have been contacted a couple times, once from someone in Fresno, and another time via Yelp response. ****Their attempts to contact me to change my review are super annoying.**** THEY LEFT ME WITH A GAPPING HOLE IN MY TOOTH! The solution that they offered was to take the $600 or so I paid them and apply it towards a Root Canal, and crown. We since they couldn't even diagnose the tooth properly, or do the work correctly, why would I trust them to do a crown? I get that they want good reviews. But if they were a good office then I would have rated them better! I should have been given a refund when the shotty work broke after 2 weeks. UPDATE: My Boyfriend had gone here in 2014. They "fixed" one of his teeth (they also double charged him). Now that tooth is infected!!! He had a root canal years ago, the crown broke. He went to the specialist and had the Peg removed. Went back to this dentist for them to finish the procedure. This so called dentist just cemented the crown back into place, leaving the wound exposed. My boyfriend ended up with a giant painful abses. Cross your fingers the new dentist isn't as STUPID and as HORRIBLE as this A Hole!!! A coworker who was botched by this guy also, is looking into legal recourse. read more

I saw Dr Ed With a sore tooth last week. I was quoted $500+ for the procedure to fix it, a root canal and a crown. Half of which I needed to pay today when I came in for the procedure. I agreed and scheduled my appointment. Today with 2 min notice I was told that amount was now $700+ due to a mistake and I would need to pay half of that or they would not provide services. I explained that that wasn't going to work for me I could only pay the original agreed on amount and i could pay the rest over the next month in 2 payments. I was told they wouldn't provide services today if I could not compensate for their mistake and was turned away after 2 weeks and still in pain. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. First off the place looks really run down, you would think it being in poway it would be nice. The older lady at the counter was not welcoming or inviting. She gives me more paperwork then I have ever filled out at a doctors office, asking weird questions. Why do you need my drivers license number? And my spouses. Maybe update your forms. I am there for 30 minutes. The lady told me that they needed to verify from my insurance company to see if I am suppose to be at their facility. They said it would be awhile. Umm hello why didn't you figure this out before? Why do I have to wait to do your job? I have to go to work too. So I told them I couldn't wait and they asked if I wanted to reschedule, the answer was No. What a waste of time. The worst part is they just didn't care. read more

Stay away from this office! Unethical dentist who will over bill you. I've been going to Dr. Z for a few years. Everything was fine until I referred my wife to his office. She went in and got a basic exam. Dr. Z informed her that she had a cavity but that the cavity was too big to fill and she needed a crown instead. He quoted $530 for the procedure-which included my co-pay from my insurance. I asked Nicole-the front desk gal, for the codes she was using for the procedure so I could check with Delta Dental to make sure I wasn't being over billed. Nicole gave me the codes but also wanted to charge me $150 for something else and stated it didn't have a code. I called Delta Dental and the representative informed me the procedure should only cost $380 out of pocket and not the $530 originally quoted. I called Nicole back and let her know about my conversation. She said she would call Delta Dental and call me back. Waited a week and no call. Called Nicole a couple of times and after reaching her, she said the dentist would review the chart again and she would call me to schedule my wife's procedure. Waited another week. No call back. Called Nicole again and she then informed me that the dentist would not do the procedure for less than $530, even though she confirmed with Delta Dental that they were only suppose to bill me $380 total. 3 weeks of back and forth and my wife still needs her cavity filled. Here's the kicker- Dr. Z had the nerve to send me a letter dropping both my wife and I from his practice. His stated reason? That he couldn't develop a good dr/patient relationship with me. Needless to say, I'm reporting him to Delta Dental for trying to fraudulently trying to over-bill me for a procedure. Stay away from this office. Plenty of other honest, ethical dentists out there. read more

I used to BITE dentists when I was a little kid (and later moved on to tacos). No joke. Dr. Ed is one of the best dentists I've ever had and his staff is wonderful. I've been going to him for several years and he is totally professional, always gives good advice about what must be done and what doesn't have to be done. A few years ago I had a root canal that he did and he put a crown on the tooth. A PERFECT job. When it comes to pain, he and his staff want to know every step of the way if you're ok. More recently, I thought there was a problem with that crown -- and it turned out that the tooth next to it had a HOLE in it. The tooth was way back there, and Dr. Ed felt I needed to go to a specialist. His office helped link me up with a doctor who did a perfect job. Dr. Ed is putting in the crown. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him and his staff and would recommend him to everyone. (And this comes from someone who used to bit dentists). read more

The front office lady took my insurance and personal information and checked and verified that I would be covered so I didn't have any out of pocket costs. Unfortunately we had an extremely unpleasant experience with Dr. Farajzadeh. He was very unorganized and unprofessional in the conduct of his business. An example of being unorganized was not using gloves when handling the patient or when using the dental tools and equipment. As for professionalism not only he lacks the social skills on how to treat patients, he is plain rude and moreover when it comes to billing (and reading other reviews) I also confirm lack of integrity eg charges for services which were never provided . Overall I would not recommend him as a Dr. to work on patients. read more

Went to Dr. Ed to have my tooth filling fixed after it came off, he sounded confident, mentioned his over 20 years of experience & guaranteed he can make my smile better..so... he got me convinced to have a bridge done to fill a missing tooth & fix a teeth gap (my childhood dream) , He was in & out of my room & other patient's room (which I'm sure is normal to check on his assistants working on other patients) however I noticed him not washing or sanitizing his hands before coming back to my teeth, not making this up but he also touched my teeth many times while explaining & working without gloves on his hands . I was nauseated & disgusted but afraid to say anything coz it may embarrass him but also afraid he might do a lousy job or charge me tons of money. I came in with 2 dental insurances from my 2 jobs (Delta & Scripps PPO), for whatever reason his office is more interested & having me pay cash or charge my card rather than going to pre approval process. To make the story short I ended doing his assistant job to have my insurance reimburse me for half of the 4,000 they charged me. This is not end of my nightmare with this self proclaimed best orthodontist in town...2-3 weeks after they had me come in because my new porcelain bridge is ready to be installed to my teeth.... color is too white (like a tile from 1980's kitchen top) rather than my natural teeth color...I asked why is the color too different ?? His answer was... he can whiten the rest of my teeth to match my new bridge but of course for additional $$$ (it's like I came in to a car shop to have one broken door replaced but instead of painting just the new door to match the car .. he wanted to paint the whole car to match the door) . I never had this service before in my life & had no clue that I could dispute & should have reported his practice to California Dental Board & California Dental association & possibly request a peer review to justify how bad his work is. Without his knowledge I am an IV RN case manager for a major hospital here in SD, He made me understand why we get a tons of endocarditis (infection & inflammation of heart lining) cases after pt undergoing a dental procedure. His practice is very questionable & should be monitored by State health department for poor infection control violation (I really wish i videotaped him with my iphone while working on my teeth showing he was not washing his hands & working w/o gloves) costing Medicare & Medical tons of money for treatment of post dental surgery complications. He caused me tons regret & depression for having him work on my teeth & seeing my teeth on the mirror... Seen him 3rd time coz bridge came off from the tooth stump after 4 months , came off again less than 2 weeks after...got so traumatized so I followed my old dentist to Oceanside to have her reattach the bridge...it's been 2 years now & still inplace, she also informed me that the bridge is a less than 300$ from China... I had a root canal and needed a crown. Dr. Ed did the crown. I did not think he did a good job. My bite is way off and the crown is a nub of what my tooth used to be. This is the second crown I have had, and the other one done by another dentist was done right. So I know the difference between a crown that is well done and one that is not. Dr. Ed does not know how to do crowns. When I went back to tell him I wasn't happy with the crown, his assistant wanted to do an x-ray on me without even knowing the problem and before I could talk to the Dr. I think they wanted to do an x-ray so that they could bill for something. I asked to see the Dr. first. When I told him I was not happy with the crown and felt the bite was off he became extremely belligerent and told me I was wrong and the crown was fine. He had no intentions of listening to my concern or taking me seriously. He was down right mad that a woman expressed dissatisfaction with his terrible work. He became abusive and yelled at me. I would not recommend going to this guy. He does terrible work and it not professional at all. read more
