After a cold, one of my teeth started hurting and within two days my upper lip became badly swollen from a very aggressive abscess. My general dentist told me I might need treatment on two teeth and possibly even lose one of them. I was extremely anxious and worried that the antibiotics were not working fast enough. Dr. Shah-Saini agreed to see me very quickly, carefully reviewed the X-rays, and immediately explained everything in a calm and clear way. She identified that only one tooth needed a root canal, while the second issue was minor and should resolve with antibiotics. Her explanation was detailed, honest, and reassuring. The procedure itself was amazing. Even though infected areas can be difficult to numb, her anesthesia worked perfectly and the entire root canal was completed in less than 30 minutes with impressive technology and skill. She was able to preserve my existing crown by accessing the tooth from the back, which I really appreciated. She also changed my antibiotic, sent the prescription immediately to my pharmacy, and made everything affordable through insurance. Beyond being highly skilled, Dr. Shah-Saini was compassionate, efficient, and genuinely caring during a very stressful situation. I left feeling relieved, informed, and extremely grateful. Before the appointment I signed all those forms online, very efficiently and comfortable, and Susan from the front desk was extremely patient and helpful. Top it off that she used a putty for broken teeth and he made her take it off before telling her she apparently needed to bring an xray with her! It was an emergency appointment so how could she have gotten an xray BEFORE her appointment and from where? And what dental office refuses to repair a tooth without an xray and expect you to bring one with you? Our family been going to this Dr. Qin Huang for years. Yesterday we got a bill for $948 out of no…read morewhere. Every visit we paid and got bill months later. We didn't understand why the over charge. I called and spoke with billing personal and she said that the Dr. was working off network. I asked for her to explain, and she said," the Dr. is allowed to make this decision to go off network. What this means is they don't want to pay the fee from the insurance, so they bill the patient the extra money. Regardless, if the doctor makes the decision, the patient should know if the Dr. is working off network. Not letting the patient know about this decision, to me feels greedy in a little bit of a scam . Going to the dentist is the expensive as it is, that's why we have insurance, we pay insurance on top of that and now her prices are higher. They don't want to pay the fee, but make the patients pay at a higher cost.
