My first attempt to post here was long but it disappeared, so I'll repeat and try to be brief. I've been wearing hearing aids for a couple of decades, and as retired military was able to obtain them through Walter Reed audiology. Yes, there's a cost advantage, but the process never achieved results that were acceptable. The turnaround for appointments was long (months) and their audiologists lacked the skill to accurately tune them. So, six years ago I visited Ascent Rockville. For the first time ever, I was able to receive the fast and accurate service that's absolutely necessary to get a good fit. We settled on Starkey -- the only USA mfgr of hearing aids -- and after several attempts at getting the mode to fit tightly in one of my weirdly shaped ears, in only a few months, we had success. Fast forward to 2018. Although my old aids still worked fine, I wanted to upgrade, so I returned to Walter Reed. I tried two different brands, three different Starkey models, and eventually settled on one of the Starkey models that seemed to replicate what I was used to. But because the hearing of my new aids was not as good as my old aids, I returned to Ascent Rockville and asked them for help. Without hesitation, Dr. Julie Rorrer began to improve the results. Twice she returned the new aids to Starkey for repair (still under warranty), and finally she tuned my new aids to exactly replicate the specifications (curve) of my old aids. Service Makes a difference I have seen both Dr. Anzola and Dr. Boiano, and they are excellent doctors. On my first visit, I explained that my previous experience with hearing aids was horrible, and I only wanted to try them if there was a substantial difference in quality versus 10 years ago. I am happy to say that there is a remarkable difference in quality. I actually appreciate my hearing aids now thanks to Dr. Boiano's patience and encouragement to try the hearing aids that best matched my needs. She suggested the latest technology, but not the most expensive offering because this was as much help as I needed. I am impressed by the exceptional customer service Ascent Audiology provides (scheduling appointments, fixing problems immediately and promptness for appointmets). More significantly, the doctors truly work to improve each patient's experience. If fixing one's hearing problem was as simple as amplifying sounds, this area of specialization wouldn't exist. Given the complexities, having a doctor who listens to your needs and challenges, understands your lifestyle and goals, is very important. Dr. Anzola and Boiano truly help as they look for specific solutions and modifications to meet personal needs. This is critical because business executives, retired people, students, and teachers all have different hearing needs. One solution will not help. Amazing Doctor! Dr. Anzola is by far the best doctor I have ever had the pleasure of working with. After years of suffering with tinnitus and being told by different doctors that nothing could be done I had finally given up. After the pitch of the ringing increased through the years I had finally reached my wits end! In researching new tinnitus treatments I came about Ascent Audiology and after reading the reviews I made an appointment. From the first phone call I had a wonderful experience. Christine was kind and was able to fit me in to Dr. Anzola's schedule the same week. After running tests she recommended a hearing aid/tinnitus blocker and my life has changed dramatically in a short amount of time. My focus is no longer on the loud ringing in my ears and I am now able to concentrate on what matters! I cannot recommend Dr. Anzola enough!! She makes sure you are always comfortable and informed on every step of the process. If you ever email her she will either respond directly or call you very quickly. We would highly recommend Dr. Anzola and her staff for hearing requirements. My husband Nat was the first one to get tested by Dr. Anzola and he was so impressed with the one on one care he received and the professionalism of the staff that he asked me to go with him for his follow-up visit. She offered me a free hearing test and I am glad I took her up on it, because I had lost substantial hearing in my right ear and I was fitted for hearing aids that day. In the two years that I have dealt with Ascent Audiology I have met with four doctors who seem to share the same work ethic of placing the customer first and going the extra mile to provide complete satisfaction. An excellent example is that the two year warranty I received for my hearing aid has now been extended to three, a great comfort given the cost of hearing aids. They make a special effort to teach customers the best ways of keeping hearing aids in good condition. I found Dr. Julie to be very professional and knowledgeable and was more interested in solving my complex hearing issues and finding the right set of hearing aid then making a sale. I have been back to the office several times for minor adjustments to my new aids and have always found the office staff to be very friendly and helpful. You don't know what you've been missing until you start hearing well. Maybe you can hear people talking but can't understand all that they are saying [poor comprehension]. I've been wearing hearing aids for many years but my current set just had it's 7th anniversary! So I took a one-week test drive on a pair of Starkey Xions from Ascent Audiology.Amazing. I had my own criteria when selecting a Doctor of Audiology. They must be Board Certified and have a testing room that eliminates outside noises. I found both at Ascent Audiology & Hearing. Doctor Anzola was the icing on the cake with her very knowledgeable treatment, and professional and understanding manner. While I might think my questions sound strange, the doctor always has an intelligent and logical response. If you have trouble hearing, this is the place to go. They are both ""people"" persons with a positive, ""can do"" attitude.
