I have tried other audiologists but there is no one like Dr. Linn! She really knows her stuff and will go out of her way to accommodate your needs. She programmed by hearing aids perfectly and now I love them! If you've heard of Real Ear measurement, she uses a system that is far superior to the others on the market. Previous programming by others didn't come close. 15 minutes with Dr. Linn and my hearing aids were tremendously improved. Not only that, but she quickly fine tuned other programs so that my aids now work far better in noisy environments and with music! I couldn't be happier. I'd like to brag on the folks here at Potomac Audiology for a minute... They are fantastic people! I had an appointment to make custom in ear molds for a set of in ear monitors, and they answered all my questions flawlessly while completing everything in 30 minutes. The molds that I needed were extremely detailed and the team did a great job. Now the kicker is that I made a follow-up appointment one week later because the molds didn't replicate exactly what 64 audio needed. I came back to have them completed again, and I felt like we were a perfect team. We talked through a game plan and also how the molds could be perfectly formed to the necessary specifications. In my honest opinion, the second set were picture perfect molds, they couldn't have fit better and were exactly what 64 Audio needed. In addition to the molds, I learned that my left ear canal was smaller than my right, afterward, they tested both ear drums to make sure they were still functioning properly and they also taught me a bit about ear anatomy! Not to mention that this was also completed with hardly any wait time, and again, only about 30 minutes before I was out the door. Oh and did I mention that I wasn't charged for my second appointment? Truly a top notch customer first establishment. High recommended! read more

Wow, what a great office. I thought the place I used to go to was great, but Potomac Audiology is even better! Their tests are more modern and seem technolgically enhanced from the place I went to before. Kathleen is VERY good at what she does. I have sudden sensorineural hearing loss in my right ear. She is so thorough with the hearing tests. She asks questions that I had never been asked to which helps me get better results with my hearing aid. Gail Linn answered and gave me an appointment that afternoon. i wasn't looking forward to this as I thought I had broken one of my hearing aids so I anticipated a major expense at a bad time. In June I visited Potomac Audiology in hopes that hearing aids would correct my problem understanding what people are saying, particularly people with thick accents and when trying to converse in Spanish. Dr. Gail Linn performed a very thorough hearing test and fitted me with Phonak hearing aids. She thoroughly explained the test results and said that my actual hearing loss was fairly minimal. I loved the Phonak technology and found that they were comfortable and discreet to wear. I got some benefit from hearing higher pitched sounds but found they were not much help in understanding what people were saying. Over the next six weeks I saw Dr. Linn several times and she made adjustments to try to improve their usefulness. My insurance company covers the full cost of the hearing aids but I was concerned that I might purchase them and then not use them very much. Dr. Linn agreed and advised me to wait. She felt I wasn't getting sufficient benefit to waste my health care dollars on them at this time. Given my age (71) she felt I might get more benefit from them in a few years if my hearing deficit continues to worsen. I felt she gave me excellent advice and was comfortable with this decision. Dr. Linn was not only very competent and experienced but also honest and ethical. She could have gone ahead and sold me the hearing aids but instead had my best interests at heart. She is without a doubt one of the best medical advisors I have seen. She always communicated very clearly with me and she gave me the best possible assessment and advice. I recommend her highly and, should I have continued hearing loss in the future, will definitely return to Potomac Audiology to see her. read more

What I like about this practice is how patient they are about helping you to find the right hearing aid for you, and then once you have it, they continue to work with you to adjust it to your needs, and changes in hearing and lifestyle. I had tried hearing aids from other providers, and had really given up on them. It seemed I'd get a brief "free" trial period during which they really weren't properly adjusted and didn't significantly improve my hearing, and would return them to the provider, assuming they weren't the solution to my problem. None of those practices informed me of their ability to make numerous adjustments to improve performance of the hearing aids, or offered to make them for me. When I sought help at this practice, they were very generous about allowing me longer trial periods, during which I was able to try out a selection of hearing aids until I found one that was suitable. And then I was invited to return to the office for multiple adjustments to the device. This solved the problems I previously had with hearing aids, and enabled me to finally get the help I needed. I've been using mine for two years now, they have improved my life a lot, which only happened because they were so generous with help and adjustments when I was getting used to them. So many people buy expensive hearing aids which they end up not using because they weren't properly fitted or adjusted. That wouldn't happen in this practice. read more

Dr. Gail Linn is an outstanding and compassionate doctor. I've suffered from a progressive hearing loss for years, and after finding Dr. Linn, my hearing loss has been treated honestly, professionally, and with compassion. I lost my hearing from reactions to medication prescribed by another doctor, and as a result I have a very difficult loss to correct with hearing aids. I've had several types of hearing aids before meeting Dr Linn but Dr. Linn fitted me with Resound hearing aids and spent an amazing amount of time adjusting them for maximum benefit. I have since moved out of the area, but wouldn't consider using any other provider. Her competent advice is second to none, and she never advises upgrading hearing devices unless absolutely in the patients best interest. Rather she works with you to adjust them. Even though I was willing to purchaser stronger hearing aids, she advised me that what she gave me is still the best option for me at this time, with no need to purchase more. She always has her patients best interests at heart. She is the top of her field, with up to the minute expertise in this changing field. Her proficiency with today's technology combined with her inexhaustible patience and ethics make her the best practitioner in this often greedy field. read more

Dr. Linn and her staff have improved the quality of my life and of course my hearing tremendously. I have been ignoring problems with my hearing aids for years. I was on the verge of scheduling surgery on my left ear but decided to see Dr. Linn first. Thank goodness I did. She confirmed that new hearing aids would serve my problems and save me from undergoing surgery that may or may not have been effective. At my first appointment, I was impressed by the modern technology she uses at her office. The hearing aids she fit me for were extremely comfortable and I love listening to podcasts, audio books and answering phone calls through them. Absolutely the BEST AUDIOLOGIST!!! Dr. Gail Linn tested my mother's hearing and re-calibrated her hearing aid. In just minutes, I went from shouting at my mother to normal conversation! My mother is so pleased to be able to hear again. It is important for her safety, social enjoyment, and intellectual stimulation that my mother have as much hearing as possible. Dr. Linn is one of very few that measures the hearing. She does not just sell you expensive hearing aids that don't work. Dr. Linn is very pleasant and personable, and she makes it very easy to ask questions. The office is conveniently located in Rockville, MD. The street address is 11300 Rockville Pike, Suite 105, Rockville, MD 20852, but the building entrance is on Security Lane.
