The receptionist, Bertha, was rude during our phone conversation and ultimately hung up on me while I was trying to seek clarification regarding my mother's diagnostic follow-up. Instead of clearly explaining that my mother simply needed to follow up with her ENT physician, the communication was vague and alarming, leading my mother to believe she may have a serious medical condition. Proper patient communication is critical in healthcare, and this situation was handled very poorly. What made matters worse was being told that "next time, come with your mom," rather than providing a respectful and clear explanation over the phone. After the call was disconnected, I attempted to call back multiple times and received no answer. My associate then called from another line, and the clinic immediately answered on the second attempt. Dr. Hohner eventually took the call, but instead of acknowledging the receptionist's behavior or attempting to de-escalate the situation, the response felt defensive and dismissive. At no point did I feel that accountability or professionalism was demonstrated. Given the clinic's already low public rating, I now understand why many patients appear frustrated with their experiences here. I sincerely hope management reevaluates staff professionalism, communication standards, and patient relations moving forward. For anyone seeking hearing care for themselves or their loved ones, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a clinic that prioritizes professionalism, compassion, and clear communication. I had to call multiple times over a 3 month span before I was able to successfully schedule an appointment. During one of the calls I had where I was actually able to speak to someone, I asked if I could receive a call back to gather more information they were requesting as I was driving, and I was told I'd receive a call back within 10 minutes but no one ever called. Made multiple additional calls and left multiple voicemails with no luck until one day someone just happened to pick up my call. Before this, the call typically goes to voicemail or you get transferred to an operator who takes your message and states someone will call you within 72 hours, which never happened. I finally was able to get the appointment scheduled a few months out and a week before my appointment I receive a call that my appointment has to be rescheduled due to construction taking place in the office and I have to wait another two months before I am able to see anyone. Scheduling with this location is a nightmare.
