For shame, RF! UCC = United Community Center = "... a comprehensive social service agency serving the families of Milwaukee's south side. Programs range from education to elder programs, meeting the needs of three year olds to 93 year olds and everyone in between." So what that means, exactly? Bruce-Guadalupe community school, Latino Arts Inc., Cafe el Sol, Walker Square Neighborhood Development Initiative, elder/youth programs and so much more. While all of these community-centric programs and pursuits are not just worthwhile (they're also necessary!), it really warms my goofy, cynical little heart to know that there are arts programs for children and young adults alive and well right down the street. Latino Arts puts on a number of shows and exhibitions throughout the year... so if you're an MKE culture vulture, you should definitely consider checking out their schedule! This collaborative workspace serves as home to meetings, conferences, un-conferences, and more. You can rent office space in this expansive, sprawling building. (Rather, it's thee buildings in one, all sort of connected. This place would make a KILLER haunted house!) The space is truly meant to foster collaboration and creativity. Staff encourages those working and visiting to "ask permission later," and treat the space as their own. Bucketworks is a great addition to Milwaukee in that it is all at once a community and learning center meant for everyone. As someone said at BarCamp (an un-conference that I attended and Yelp sponsored that was held in the space), "these are the schools of the future." Love.

I got to get some pictures, tie up some loose ends with a very helpful librarian, went on a little side quest to the the second floor in the business room where I found a few amazing books that were showcased. I love that they showcase books as looking through the isles is a little daunting. Using the online portals to sign out books for book check out is an amazing tool. Book drop off drive through is great, don't even have to get out of the car. Parking is by meter conveniently all around block. Lighthouse is so neat! The children's area librarians are incredibly sweet and knowledgeable, you see a lot of the same staff here which is also telling of an environment I feel. Inner city so it sometimes it attracts loitering, but overall it's well kept.

Rather than get up and go find the doctor, they do everything through IM or computer. No one has time to stare at the computer all day for messages but important is important, meaning get to it now, not whenever you feel like it. I have a back injury and need documentation for the insurance company but can't get a response. I have anomalies in my blood work that concern me, can't get any answers for that either. I'm also concerned that one of my meds may be causing organ damage, can't get any answers answer on that either. Very frustrating . Seems I will have to make an appointment in order to drill down on the doctor and get the info I desperately need. Medical care is a sad state of affairs no matter where you go. I've been using these facilities for years and it seems like it's all going downhill
