I took my kitten to Heart and Paw last week when she was having an issue with her eye. The individual rooms had space my cat to roam and explore while waiting. The nurse and doctor took their time and listened to my concerns. They were very friendly and gentle with my cat and did a great job looking her over and evaluating her ailments. They did not try to upsell us on anything and we will be back again if my cat has any other needs in the future! read more

They are overpriced even when they offer little value. My wife was convinced to have a follow up appointment when there is no need. She will go in tomorrow, see a vet for 5 minutes with no agenda, and pay over $100. This business is predatory and should be ashamed of themselves. I brought my then 2 year old Shih Tzu on 2/15 2024 for playtime. I was instructed to stay for 15 minutes to observe how he was with the other dogs that were slowly introduced into the play room. I want to mention here firstly my dog is very affectionate and playful guy with never a sign of anxiety or aggression EVER. I was told everything is going good and to return in 4 hours. When I arrived to pick up my dog I did not see him in the play room and asked where he was to the supervisor in the room and she just pointed to the corner when he was hiding. Upon picking him up to leave his coat was sort of wet in spots. I asked now a different person (not the one I left him with) how it go? The employee said, everything went fine. The next morning my dog and his bed was soaked with diarrhea. I bathed my dog and was going to take him outside. While having him in my arms and opening the door he jumped out of my arms and took off in the neighborhood. I've never seen this kind of action in him before. He was in a hysteria state. Immediately phoned Heart & paw and was just given a very hem haw reply that this can sometime happen no further explanation offered. The diarrhea continued for 5 days even on a careful diet. My dog had no issues prior this episode. He shortly thereafter developed snapping issues so unlike his lovable personality. I was told by a professional he probably was I used the word (bullied) by the other dogs. Very disturbing. read more

They canceled my appointment for a sick puppy since I was running a little late. Was there literally 2 min after their "15 min grace period". Meanwhile place is empty no one waiting to be seen just lazy. Never been late for any prior appointments in the past. I've never experienced something like that with my own medical appointment. Im gonna give a one star especially since i couldnt get past just booking the appointment. I have a large breed dog (140 lb) who is also a senior dog. She just needs a haircut and wash and when i asked questions about safety i got a run around. I need to know that she will be safe and on a non slip surface and belted to the table properly to prevent falls and she could not reassure this for me. I cant risk taking a senior dog in to be groomed and possibly hurt at the prices being charged. I feel safety should always be first and apparently here it is not. I hope others have a great experience here but apparently this place is not for me and my sweet pet who deserves better! read more

I met Dr. Jared Pitt at Heart and Paw, Marlton for the first time on Tue.10/03. I found Dr Pitt to be very warm, professional, thorough and caring. My 13 yr old Beagle, Sarah became ill on Sun and by Tue was an emergent situation. When I called on Tue at 2:30p, the receptionist relayed my information to Dr. Pitt. He squeezed us in for an appt. by 3:30p same day. It became evident Sarah required surgery for an abscessed uterus. Dr. Pitt arranged for Sarah to be monitored overnight at Mt. Laurel Animal Hospital with IV hydration and pain medications which was necessary to prepare her for me to bring her back to Heart and Paw for surgery on Wed. morning at 8am. Sarah is now recovering nicely and I am grateful. Everyone at Heart and Paw were very welcoming and helpful. The exam room was very clean. I am glad I went to Dr. Pitt. read more

I have just tried to make an appointment for my puppy to get his haircut and I was told to fill up a form online and when I was trying to explain to someone one on the phone that it's impossible to do, I can't pass the page where they are asking about his breed, I guess cockapoo is not a breed, so I tried-mix and didn't work again, I was told that I'm not allowed to bring my 9 months puppy for haircut and they can't and they won't help me and they don't know why it's impossible to fill up a form online... absolutely disgusting , abusing... My guess would be because I speak English with Russian accent, so I'm stupid already and my puppy is not good enough... i wish I would never make this phone call!!! read more

I have been using heart and Paw few a few years due to them being close to home.The first couple Veterinarian's were ok but when I had Dr Jered Pitt he was extremly helpful.especially when my dog got cancer and even checked in on us after he died. We have been bringing our cat to this vet for over the last year, on Saturday we had to put her to sleep. Since July 2023 we brought her in for test and with all the bloodwork and money they didn't do anything to help her. When we had to make one of the hardest decisions to put her down, they first said the price would be $103 when we arrived the cost went up to $260. The reason the receptionist made a mistake over the phone. REALLY, one is not about to argue at this time, so we paid it. The way the treated the whole thing was horrible. They took our little girl brought her back to a room with out us in it, injected her and brought her back so we could see her take her last breath. Instead of letting us hold her little paw and let her know how much she was loved. We have two other fur babies and they will never go here again. They were uncaring and heartless while taking care of our Mia. read more

I have been bringing my dog here for years and the cut has been pricey, but good. While I ran into some issues along the way that went unaddressed, them upping prices by 30-40% on on already expensive cut due to 'supply chain' seems predatory. A lot of the world is coming to realize that businesses are increasing prices because they want to, not because they need to. I could go on an entire tangent about how nothing they use aside from basically shampoo is reliant on the supply chain, but suffice to say we would see these massive increases at other groomers if it were true. This was my first time taking my little baby, Quinn, to the vet and I was actually very nervous. Even though there is a virus outside, I could still see Quinn through the whole exam. They were very nice and careful with her. The people worked there was also very nice and carried a smile on their face all the time. As a pet owner, many know having a puppy that they tend to get into things they are not supposed to be getting into. Unfortunately, my puppy Loki got into a dead, disintegrating bat. This bat had its bones out and was in 90-degree weather. But, I took the precautions and called heart and paw and they insured me that they would "check for rabies no problem". Loki had no signs or symptoms of rabies at all the next day. Loki and I went to the vet and was greeted with smiles and a welcoming hello. The front desk lady asked for my address and of course I gave it to her, considering that this was our third time coming here. I thought this was going to be his vet forever and I was wrongly mistaken. Loki and I waited for the vet and tech, he was excited to see people because he is a people lover. The technician came in with a full body suit of scrubs, googles, gloves, and mask and did not acknowledge Loki. I had on a tank top and shorts on and I was hugging Loki. As a pet owner seeing someone wear that around your dog, red flags start to go off in one's head. She asked me to pick Loki up and put him on the table she was very careful not to touch Loki. Then the vet came in Dr. Katie Higgins, Loki ran up to her and started doing his happy dance. She shaked her leg kicking my dog away, as if he had rabies. She had a paper in her hand and pinched it to hand it to me, as if I had a disease. She made it clear to me that there was no possible way to check for rabies within Loki unless, we put Loki down. Dr, Higgins showed no remorse or any sympathy for me, as I was concerned about my dog. Loki at this time did not have his rabies shot as he was getting the shot next week. She told me that she would have to report my house hold to The health department and my little brother (he was the one to get rid of the bat) This was why they wanted my address . Another option was to keep my dog in quarantine for 4 months at home with monthly random checks from the health department to make sure my family and I were following rules and if not my puppy would be taken away. Dr.Higgins said because they have never heard of this kind of situation with a disintegrating bat. She did not insure me at all and had no words to say to me to comfort me as I was tearing up thinking I had to put my puppy down. She told me because his situation was different that she would call me after she talks to the health department. I took Loki home in tears, thinking I was going to lose my puppy. Later that day I got a text message from doctor Higgins. Very unprofessional considering that this was a serious situation. To make it short she told me that the health department would contact me. Another hour went by and the heath department told me because it was a dead bat that Loki will be fine and we can continuing our lives normally. Dr. Higgins never stayed in the loop of things considering that I called a week later and they said they could not see loki again because he was supposed to locked in the house for 4 months because they never spoke with the health department after. Dr. Higgins has no heart and emotions; she is a unprofessional doctor that does not care for her patients, her patients parents or the progress of an animals health. read more

This Heart & Paw location in Marlton New Jersey is truly amazing. My mini golden doodle, Bella, had torn her nail off while chasing a ball thrown by her dad, me. She was bleeding and holding her paw up in the air looking for help. I tried my Vet but were not accessible on a Saturday afternoon at 1pm. Thankfully after calling Heart & Paw in Marlton, a nice young woman answered the phone. She directed me as to what to do and told me to come over. We did what we were told and brought Bella over to their office. Very easy to get to. Next to Trader Joe's. Long story short, they took care of her. A nice young lady took her out of car and in 20 minutes she was all done. A large bandage, a collar and medicine. She is comfortably home now and resting. Such nice staff! They truly love their jobs! The first time I came here it was a great experience, though it was a tad bit over priced. They gave me free treats as well as a tennis ball and we're very open to any questions I had. The second time was nice as well though I ended up paying almost 200 $ when I only came in for a distemper shot and an oral flea and tick pill. The third time how ever really upset me. The woman grabs my puppy in a way that was very uncomfortable when bringing him into the building instead of simply using the leash I had handed her that was attached to a harness he was wearing. Then when he came back she told me my dog needed to be socialized because he got nervous and growled when she was clipping his nails. I would understand and be thankful to be told that if I didn't already bring him to play with other vaccinated dogs and puppies every. Single. Day. He also is around up to 3-5 different people a day who come to hangout with me and my boyfriend and is amazing. Don't tell me my pup is under socialized when you are probably doing everything as forcefully as you handled my pup. Ive also never been to a vet that makes you pay an extra fee for getting rid of the biohazard material (the empty needles from the shot) read more

To be honest I'm very upset about my visit today. I wasn't even supposed to have an appointment with this place, I booked a different vet that had great reviews in the area. But there was a storm this week and a breaker fell on the building the day after we got our new pup. But because our puppy is so young and new, I wanted him to see a veterinarian as soon as possible. Given everything with COVID I get that the experience isn't going to be superb, everyone was very nice. But I feel like this place is only concerned about selling overpriced first year puppy packages, and being a first time dog owner, I think I was prey to them. Everyone was nice, don't get me wrong. But I paid $75 for trimmed nails & to be told my puppy is okay. The most basic package they tried selling me was ONLY core vaccines and Neuter which is FIVE HUNDRED dollars by the way.. totaling over $1,000 for the year. this is a rip off if you shop around.. They might be good for dogs but if you have a puppy, look elsewhere first. I will be going elsewhere and wish I did some more research first. read more
