There's plenty of parking available and in the office is where you'll sign some paperwork and pay. It was $60 for an hour ride. You're allowed to bring your phone and a Fanny pack. I was placed with a group, so we were a total of 5, including the guide. I know for next time to book for the two hour session. There's a bit of uphill and downhill on the trail. The trail is pretty worn in and I felt so comfortable on the horse I was on. I got placed with the horse named Blue. Genuinely loved the experience and found it so calming. I'd love to do it again whenever I'm in Tahoe again.

She also called again the same day we went riding to ensure the group was prepared and they failed to mention that as well. Additionally, we prefaced the entire staff that someone in our group has had a bad experience when she was younger and they completely disregarded that information. They ended up putting her on the horse that was in the very back and is "lazy and bucks when behind". The entire staff was very unfriendly and the whole experience felt like a money grab. Not a good place for beginner/intermediate riders. During the ride our friend who had a bad experience wanted to get off as she was not feeling safe and they said they DO NOT let anyone off the horses at all, and they would not let anyone switch at all. They have no protocol for emergencies at all. They were very concerned about making it for the next appointment, rushing us to get off of the horses and very rude overall.

The trail itself was absolutely stunning, winding through peaceful forests with breathtaking views of the mountains. Jake, our guide was super friendly, knowledgeable, and kept the group engaged with fun facts and stories about the area. He also answered all of our questions about the horses, and the trail more broadly. This was a perfect family activity -- relaxing, scenic, and full of natural beauty. We brought LSF a very beloved, not fancy pony that we had come to the end of the road with and had been trying to sell for a year. We were scared of him and he was increasingly reactive. LSF spent an incredible amount of time rebuilding his and our confidence. Suffice to say, the pony is loved and a delight and we hope we get to keep him forever. LSF takes care of horses like you would yourself if you knew how, and they teach you along the way. They've also built a lovely community. The tween kids convinced us to start our kids, and it's been great to be at a place that helps build character, in addition to being thoughtful about safety. Also it's such a beautiful spot. Basically heaven on earth. Come, because it's wonderful. Don't come, because we want to save stall space for more horses for us :)

The scenery was breathtaking, and the ride felt like a real adventure rather than just following a trail in a line. We crossed a beautiful river twice, rode through gorgeous mountain terrain, and truly got to experience the landscape. My horse, Buckwheat, was such a character and made the ride even more fun. It was a perfect blend of…read morespecial time with the farm animals (holding baby bunnies! walking goats!), learning to care for the animals (branding manes and tails, picking horseshoes, touring the stables), crafts, and pony rides. And I was blown away by the pony show on Friday morning! The counselors were so caring and great with the kids and 4-H values and true equestrian skills are evident in all the kids learn in a short 5 days. I cannot say enough what a gem this place is. Only one exit down the road from downtown Truckee but a world away and we could pick her up at lunch and still have a family afternoon together. We felt so lucky that we found out about this camp. We will definitely be back!

This stable had the best trail horses that I have had the pleasure of riding. They were young enough to move. Not so trail fixed as most other places. The trail was dusty but what else might one expect on the trail. We rode Sugar and Lincoln. Both great horses. Princess Leia was a great trail leader! She is great with families and kids.

I do a lot of day sailing about 100 hours a year. I found Michelle and Tahoe Ventures a year ago…read more Michelle takes excellent care of her fleet. After she did an hour checkout to show me the channel I was good to go the following day. If my memory serves me she has a nice Capri 22 that sails real well in light air. It has a keel configuration where you only need 3 feet of draft. Which in Tahoe with the sand bars is perfect. From her place South Keys it's a two hour sail to Emerald Bay. Which I plan to do again. I highly recommend this business. Its owned by her and she puts her heart into it. Please support her.

She's got a beautiful sailboat and we enjoyed how peaceful the lake was in the evening (when most of the noisy boaters were gone). We saw the sunset and had a great time chatting altogether. We were able to bring our snacks and drinks on board, too. We've used several sailing companies on the lake, but I would highly recommend boating with Michelle again!
