The whole experience was wonderful! Emily was our guide and she was so nice and engaged with us throughout the ride. We went with out two young kids who have never ridden before, but that was not an issue at all. They intentionally picked horses for each of us and we all felt very comfortable the whole ride with our horses. The trail was peaceful and such a beautiful ride. Definitely recommend this location for others.

Had a great day at Alpine Meadows Stables! Booked the 1hr ride for my wife and two daughters. They had a blast! Ella (tour guide) was super friendly and helpful. They also have a pony for the little kiddos to ride. They teach you how to guide the pony as you walk the 15min long meadow trail. I did this with our 2yr old daughter who absolutely loved it! After, we got to feed some of the horses who weren't working a tasty snack. We will definitely be back again!

If you happen to be in the Tahoe area, I definitely would recommend stopping by for a ride. The owners are very accommodating and my group had a great time. Just make sure to call before

We literally drove by with no appointment. And as expected since it was a Saturday, the place was booked. Bummed, we braved it out to ask a lady if we can take pics with the horses. She was so kind and gracious and even told us to pet them! She every now and then will have us some pointers about the horses we were petting, though clearly she was busy attending from across the barn. She even directed us to the barn on the other side to see more horses. That alone this place deserves for their customer service!

The tour guide was amazing, the horses were gentile, scenery was beautiful and a very reasonable price. I would give it 5 stars but my saddle was not tightened down properly and literally slid off the horses back. I'm lucky the horse was chill and they're lucky that I'm chill. The guide seemed horrified that it happened and I genuinely believe it was a freak accident. I work with animals and I understand that stupid things can happen and I'm not upset at my comically slow fall. I do plan on coming back.

This stable is in a great location, convenient near Truckee, Squaw Valley and Kings Beach. I came ti this stable many times as a child and now I got to bring my little one to try horse back riding. This is a family friendly stable, these horse do know the way but its a good thing when your rug rat has no clue on how to ride. The guide was very sweet, gave my Lilyzilla good instructions. The child stated to me she was uncomfortable in the beginning but after she grasped onto what the guide was telling her she relaxed and was able to enjoy. For a reference to parents, my kiddo is 10yrs old and her listening abilities are on par with talking to a wall. We only did the Hour ride since I wasn't sure how my kiddo would do. It was $45 per person, CASH or personal check only. We did go during the time of social distancing and they do abide! You wear your mask until you cross the street and at that point the horses naturally keep us all 6ft apart. Great family friendly place :) The kiddo already wants to return but with a longer ride time.

Our guide, Kiera, was fantastic -- knowledgeable, relaxed, encouraging, and clearly wonderful with both people and horses. The scenery was breathtaking, and the ride felt like a real adventure rather than just following a trail in a line. We crossed a beautiful river twice, rode through gorgeous mountain terrain, and truly got to experience the landscape. My horse, Buckwheat, was such a character and made the ride even more fun. We especially appreciated that the ride felt personal, peaceful, and authentic. You can tell the horses are well cared for and that the guides genuinely love what they do. Highly, highly recommend this experience if you're looking for a scenic and memorable ride in the Truckee/Tahoe area!

Only one exit down the road from downtown Truckee but a world away and we could pick her up at lunch and still have a family afternoon together. We felt so lucky that we found out about this camp. We will definitely be back!

You're away from the city, cars, and all the noise, which made it even more enjoyable. It was my boyfriend's and my first time, and we actually found this place on TikTok and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad we did because it was amazing! The staff were friendly, whether we were talking to them in person or over the phone. Making a reservation was also really easy. Our reservation was at 4 PM, and we arrived around 3:30 PM. We were taken out about 20 minutes after arriving. There isn't really good cell service out there, but honestly, that's okay! You're supposed to enjoy what's right in front of you and take in the beautiful views. Wearing a helmet is optional, and I personally chose not to wear one. I got Becky, who was a really slow horse but absolutely beautiful. Throughout the tour, the horses can stop whenever they need to use the restroom while you're riding them. They are very friendly and don't harm you. Before the tour, the guides and workers show you how to turn left, right, stop, and go. Please don't be harsh on the horses. They can get hungry and tired, and after each tour, they are given food. Sometimes, even when you're close to finishing the tour, your horse might start rushing because they know they're almost done. The horses can also stop to scratch themselves on trees, which is what my horse did! Our tour guide was Tula (I'm sorry if I spelled her name wrong), and my boyfriend rode Brown Jack. Throughout the entire tour, our guide made us feel very safe. She asked us questions, talked with us, and really took the time to get to know us. I absolutely loved her! We also made a stop along the way where she took individual pictures of us and group pictures. The views were beautiful, and it was such a special experience. At the end, my boyfriend's horse tried to bite another horse, and an employee hit the horse with a rope. I honestly felt really bad seeing that because I felt sorry for the horse. They also provide stools to make it easier to get on the horses, and the staff helped adjust the seating and foot area so we could be comfortable. By the end, my butt was definitely hurting , but honestly, it was worth it! Overall, this was a lovely experience, and I would definitely recommend it, especially if you want something peaceful, beautiful, and different from the usual activities. 10/10!
