This company did fine, but the attention to detail and going several thousand over budget despite…read moreminimizing the scope of work was not appreciated. The work they did do got the minimum job done. They dug up plants and landscaping to make room for the new walkway and replanted our meticulously placed landscaping in a disorderly way. For example, we have arranged early spring, early summer, and late summer bloomers in linear order so the new blooms cover old withering each season. They just shoved everything back in the dirt in no particular order so our seasonal blooms are mixed amongst each other and bloom and wither in random pattern. They did not use the correct particle sand to fill pavers so that is washing away and destabilizing pavers after a season. The pavers are cut with huge sometimes two inch gaps around curves and edges. Therefore, the team just packed the excessive gaps and asymmetrical paver placement with wrong particle sand. I asked them to back fill under the low spots --probably fewer than ten different sections of a foot or two stretch--under the fence they built so the dog couldn't get out under the fence. That repeated request was ignored/not responded to, although we offered to pay more for the time and materials. We deliberated over a 6 vs 8-foot fence and settled on 6, but they failed to advise that would not provide sufficient elevation above the very high patio they built to re-grade a steep drop off. So we have an awkward foot or so of fence wall above a very high patio that took two more truckloads of gravel to elevate than quoted. And they broke our water sprinkler system while doing the work. So the sprinkler system that worked before they did their work was broken after and they not only didn't fix it, but said it was due to the sprinkler system being old. Well, don't really care if it's old. It worked before you dug around or near it and it didn't work after. You even told us when you couldn't get it to be functional after your guys did the work and somehow fixing / replacing it is still our problem. Overall, a $30,000 landscape and hardscape job was not done as meticulously as we would have expected. Also, future touch points for follow up work--although we had discussed multiple phases of projects before signing on--went ignored. Don't know what Ted's deal is, but I can say for sure we were not particularly difficult or unreasonable, paid the almost $30k on time and without incident vs $23k we were quoted, and still went ignored, under serviced, and ended up with certain aspects of our home left in worse condition than this contractor found it, costing us even more In the long run.

Landscape Matters did an amazing job extending our patio and building a fire pit with sitting wall…read more They have transformed our backyard into a place we can hang out as a family now. They also installed uplighting in the front of our house which looks great. I highly recommend them for your next project!

We just finished a complete backyard renovation project with Caesar and the Down South Construction…read moreteam. We are SO thrilled with how our vision for the backyard came to life via their expertise. We were impressed upon Caesar's initial visit to provide us with an initial design. He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough in his measurements and surveying of the slopes, areas we'd have to work around. The quote was itemized so we understood fully what the all in price was going towards, we had several quotes and this wasn't always the case. They even offered up design options for us which helped us visualize the end results before they started working. Caesar was very easy to communicate with, prompt in his replies and stayed present throughout the duration of the project to check on the work and our feedback. The team that worked in our backyard project was phenomenal. So hard working and so efficient. Everything was done with great attention to detail and if something popped up that required a shift in the plan, they brought solutions to us right away which we found helpful. We trusted their guidance. They also found a way to minimize the footprint that the bobcat machine had to go on our lawn which we were so pleased with to avoid any damage to our side yard. Overall, would highly recommend their services and we will be passing along their info to the other neighbors around us in Big Canoe! Thank you, Caesar and Team!

They designed a plan for our backyard after listening to our concerns- drainage, patio needs, retaining wall, etc. and he designed a good plan for us. We had multiple meetings with Caesar (owner) to make sure we were all aligned on the project. Our project included a new paver patio, a redone multiple tier retaining wall, new sod, and plenty of new plants and hardscaping along with solutions for water flow across the yard. We also had some additional (previously unplanned) work on the front yard. They started when they said they would start and completed the job within the time frame estimated. This is unique in this world. We have had 3 significant (kitchen remodel, new porch/deck) projects done in the last 3 years and this is the only one that stayed within the time frame estimated. Caesar was also flexible with the add on work that we threw on him. I cannot imagine a better team that worked on this project for us. In additional to being very skilled and hardworking, they were pleasant, polite, respectful. They made the project look exactly like the drawings. I would 100% endorse Caesar and his team. I would use them again and again without hesitation.

HEAR ME CLEARLY, If I could give zero stars, I would. Melvin Alexander (Dirt Cheap Advantage) is…read morethe most unprofessional and dishonest remodeling contractor I have ever hired. He was paid 50% upfront (over $8,000) via wire transfer, misled me about the price of construction materials (cabinets, etc.), and provided nothing but excuses and delays. LISTEN TO ME...Don't be fooled by the 3D Rendering mockup he provides. It's all a show!! The renovation his so-called crew (unqualified and unlicensed) performed was shoddy and unsafe (wrong screws, multiple random holes in my wall-one that punctured my electrical cords that power my AC unit, etc.), handling tasks that should only be completed by licensed, skilled and COMPETENT contractors. After bringing in certified electricians and HVAC technicians to evaluate the remodeling work (due to being without AC for nearly 48 hours which was caused by his incompetent crew), I was strongly advised by my electrician, HVAC specialist , and close friend who's an electrical engineer, to stop the project entirely for safety as well as professional reasons. He caused more damage to my home and ripped our drywall that should have never been removed...never! Though I was stern and adamant about my budget not exceeding a certain amount, he made repeated attempts to change my mind. Also, he lied about his knowledge of and ability to sand hardwood floors...no one is an expert in everything but he pretends to be. In my opinion, this company deliberately targets single women and exploits them with poor workmanship and lies. Though he came highly recommended by a coworker, I discovered that he only performed a small job but never actually repaired/replaced anything inside of his home. The ONLY reason I decided to award him the job (over $16,000) is because of my coworker's recommendation and my urgent need to renovate/repair my kitchen before I was scheduled to deploy again (first responder and emergency manager). Time was of the essence for me, so I leaped before I looked (conducted research and asked for other references). Trust, I will NEVER do that again. I've lost over $4,000, which he never sent back (all materials never purchased-I have proof). Also, after doing some digging, seeking counsel from an attorney friend, and contacting the GA Board of Contractors, I discovered that his shady business was DISSOLVED by the State of GA in June of 2025 (it's public record...visit the Sec. of State's website, you'll find it there). His business is not even recognized as a valid or legitimate business in the state of GA where he's operating. I also discovered a few other things that I can't speak on due to an open and on-going investigation. All in all, do yourself a favor: hire a reputable, honest, licensed PROFESSIONAL for your home renovation or remodeling needs -- NOT THIS ONE. There is sooo much more I could share pertaining to my experience, which turned into an absolute nightmare. I may have lost over $4,000, but my goal is to make sure no one is bamboozled, robbed and lied to in the way I have been. Don't take my word for it...I have undeniable proof, which is why I contacted the GA Board of General and Residential contractors and have decided to fight instead of allowing this person who lacks character and integrity to get away with wrongdoing. Before you hire this SHADY and unprofessional man, THINK TWICE and take heed to what I've said. I have NO reason to lie. I can tell you about my experience as well as that of others...just email me at JUSTASKGAME@GMAIL.COM. If my testimonial can help someone make a wise and well-informed decision, I am more than willing to be of assistance. AGAIN, DO your research (Sec. of State website, etc.), ask for references you can speak with, BUY YOUR OWN MATERIALS (MOST IMPORTANT), and don't ignore red flags like I did! Better safe than sorry!
