The PMs pool maintenance company quoted us $1000 to $1800 and probably 2 to 3 visits to fix it. My wife called around and got the best comfort level from Premier Pool Enterprises (not to be confused with Premier Pools and Spas in Alpharetta). Austin came out today, had the part with him, assessed for what would have cost $125 if we had not moved forward with the repair, and offered to fix the entire thing, new control board, igniter and labor for $700, including the assessment. He fixed it and took the time to stay around long enough to make sure it was working. In addition, he cycled it on an off multiple times and observed it. The office politely took my credit card for payment and offered to mail a receipt. Everyone involved was very polite and Austin was in a uniform. I was working in my basement office so I never saw whether they use lettered company vehicles. Overall, as a general manager of a service company myself, this was the type of service we strive to provided and an all too rare experience to have as a consumer. Given that the property manager maintains the rest of the pool except for the heater, we probably won't have a call to use them again, but I understand they also build pools, so maybe in our next home.

We met with 5 pool contractors. We narrowed it down to 2. One said that if we wanted to use the pool this summer we would need to wait to begin, Thrasher Pool said they could get it done. After speaking with a few references and another meeting with Chris we had the confidence we needed that Thrasher could meet our aggressive schedule to be swimming this summer. Construction began March 28th and we were swimming by June 1st. Chris Fogelman provided excellent design advice, and was receptive to changes and additions that we made during the process. Thrasher is professional, dedicated and offer an elite level of service yet their pricing was in line with other bids. Our pool is gorgeous!! The fountains come on each night at 7pm and beckon us outside. We highly recommend Chris and his team at Thrasher Pool and Spa.

Stay Away from Passion Pools - A Costly Nightmare…read more I contracted Melvin from Passion Pools in April 2024 to build an in-ground swimming pool for $71,000. I was supposed to have a completed pool with only a $5,000 final payment remaining -- but here I am, over a year later, out $89,000 with an unfinished project and still unable to swim. Throughout the build, Melvin repeatedly asked for more money for materials and work that were clearly included in our contract. Why was I still buying materials at the end of the job? He constantly made excuses, even telling me he had to "take money from other jobs" to finish mine. That is not my responsibility -- it's completely unprofessional. He asked for advances to go to a funeral in Tennessee. Despite being fully paid for several aspects of the project, including an $8,000 retaining wall, the wall remains incomplete and is missing caps. This wall has set for 3 month unfinished and unpainted. The decking around the pool is unfinished. My pool lights do not work properly. The heat pump I was given is a used, low-BTU aftermarket unit that trips regularly. I was never told what chemicals to use or given any guidance on maintenance. The front and back yard were dug up and never restored -- I now have large areas of exposed soil that will likely cost me an additional $20-$30K to fix. Melvin worked at a painfully slow pace -- showing up only once a week for a few hours -- and frequently asked for advance payments, including once for a funeral. Meanwhile, I've paid $89,000, and my pool is still not finished. Passion Pools breached the contract by failing to deliver what was agreed upon. Very unprofessional, yelling and curing his workers out that my neighbors heard it. He even promised my neighbor he'd repair their grass, which is still a muddy mess. Unsurprisingly, he's now disappeared and moved on to the next victim. I feel as if I have been robbed. His excuse for previous bad reviews, which you can see on Yelp and other review sites, is that people want to bring a black man down. I am black and this is just business. He robbed me for his own gain. He never had intentions to finish this pool. To make matters worse, he appears to have scrubbed all prior negative Google reviews. He will likely respond to this claiming I didn't pay him or didn't pay on time -- I have all the receipts and text messages. His receipts were handwritten on black paper with no accounting system -- completely unprofessional and shady. With the pool and retaining wall unfinished, I am unburying myself out of a $100,00 nightmare. Thank you for ruining my whole experience. This was my first experience building a pool, and it's been a nightmare I wouldn't wish on anyone. Do not trust Passion Pools. I'll see him in court.

They immediately sent Kyle out to give…read moreme an estimate. 5 days after the estimator came out, I had to call the company to get the price - estimator hadn't called. The company had him get in touch me with the price which was reasonable, but he quickly added it would be 3 to 5 weeks out. It was April 27th, so no worries. I asked him to put us on the schedule and then for a quote to see if they did stain removal on vinyl liners. Again, no estimate, so I called the company and Kyle emailed back, we don't do that. I asked if we on the still on the schedule and he said yes for Thursday or Friday of the week of May 14th. We haven't heard or seen their people yet. Extremely frustrating company to deal with!

Andys is fine with the weekly pool maintenance, but when things go wrong ... they are unorganized, seem to have staffing issues, and lack accountability. I literally had to call or text them every day for over a month to ask when my repair would be done. They only finally did the repair when a VIP friend called the owner.
