I have quite a few of their high-quality stickers on both my phone and my computer, as well as my sketchbook! The ambience is absolutely lovely, hot tea, fireplaces, and comfortable chairs make the store feel so homey and comforting! The store is located in the upstairs shopping "mall," along with a bunch of either tiny stores. I would estimate at least a quarter to a third of the books are of the sci-fi/fantasy genre. Here is where you may find some very obscure but excellent out of print titles. The fiction section is also well-curated. The rest of the books are a bit of a hodgepodge (travel, humor, etc.). I found the prices to be very fair. Be careful, though: some out of print books are priced accordingly. Worth checking out, if you are a book nerd.

There isn't an attendant around, but the cashier was very friendly and I even got a bookmark with my purchase! I like that books were organized and they had a section for young readers and kids. I even found a couple of hard back Nancy Drew books I read as a kid! There were a few classic Golden Books too. The middle section has some great table books. Parking is available across the street near the goodwill or if you can get a spot on the street. We came in and there were piles of books next to the bookshelves. The sections aren't completely labeled, but if you read enough, you can see what category the bookkeeper has placed the books in. There isn't a certain order (alphabetically or anything). You go in and you peruse what is available . The bookseller is also hanging out in the front and will let you look at the front room or the back room. We saw the children's section, science, graphic novels, AAPI, and fantasy. Their romance was scattered around the store. I did end up leaving with a book purchase. I will say it's hard to look at everything because the lights were also flickering, although there is sunlight coming in. It was quite overwhelming to look at books. Overall the prices were cheaper than a bookstore chain. It's very nice to see these stores still operating. I'd choose this over a chain any day.

So this huge Baptist church has a full-on independent coffeehouse. No skimping-- teas, mochas, lattes, chai, blended drinks, the whole shebang. They'll even bake you a little pizza or toast a bagel, and they have some candy too (for people to munch on during services??) There's also a decent collection of Christian books and gifts, but the guy behind the counter said that was going away soon; they're remodeling to make it a proper coffeehouse. Hopefully they'll expand their hours a bit; I'd love an alternative to chain coffeehouses.

I was pleased to find GreenBooks just a couple of miles from my home so ventured over there to check it out. What a pleasant surprise - I buy and read quite a lot (old, retired guy), so was eager to explore the shop. For a relatively small store, they have an incredible number of books packed in there. They have a nice variety covering a wide spectrum of subjects from fiction thru all kinds of non-fiction - recent best sellers, law, romance, history, DIY, auto repair, gardening, golf, etc. There is probably something there for everyone. The woman (manager / owner?) who waited on me was very helpful and the store's resident cat is a lovely, friendly girl. Though I'm not much of a browser, which generally takes me to online dealers to buy mine, this is a place made for browsing and probably a fun place for readers to spend a couple of hours.
